There is also (1) picnic table inside the park. There is a large field where kids sometimes run, practice soccer, or baseball. But I like to come here to take my furry son to run around............ There are a lot of dog owners in this neighborhood, and we like to take our doggies here so they can play, and socialize. The park is clean, the grass is cut on a regular basis, and the rubbish is emptied every week by the City & County of Honolulu parks & recreations workers. I would like to extend a Big "MAHALO" to the public city workers for keeping this park clean, and in great shape! The dog owners are very responsible, as we pick up after our dogs. We even pick up after the irresponsible dog owners that do not pick up after their dogs...........but if you're a dog owner, you should know better than to take care of your doggie's business! With just a few weeks to enjoy the tree a top the hill lit so beautifully and bright it's a place that I rarely get to enjoy and take in at my leisure since parking in the area is quite the real challenge. This year I did have some bucket list places that I really wanted to visit and why not start at a place that's been in my neighborhood since not knowing is quite shameful and decided Christmas Eve was the night that I needed to see it so I arrived early before the sunset and luckily did find parking right across the street and am happy to finally take it all in. It does sit right a top the fire station and there is a path that will take you straight up there which is all dirt so a rainy day will make climbing a challenge so it is something to keep in mind as there isn't any seating or covering as well but was surprised to find many to take the trip up to enjoy the sunset and tree along with the stunning view of Kaimuki and beyond. A free place to take it all in and enjoy and wished I did come up earlier to enjoy the sunset as this place is totally recommended and will be back. Thank you!

So I've been trying to find parks with different types of equipment. I'm like a park stalker, haha. While driving, I'd look out at parks and check out the equipment at the parks. I've seen quite a few ones but then I look at the reviews on Yelp and it turns me away. Reviews say that there's a lot of homeless or theft there. But today I discovered a website that's shows me all the playground equipment at all the parks. And I found this great park today. It's really close to my home so I'm so glad that I found it. My daughter loves this park. She's quite a monkey and she loves to climb the apparatus. She went up the stairs and down the slide many times. They also had a disk where you could stand or sit and you could spin on it. We don't have that at our neighborhood park. I showed her how to do it and she loved it. She kept wanting to do it over and over again. She spun around so much and was laughing the whole time. In addition to the playground equipment they also have a big area where you can have a picnic or lunch. They have several picnic tables to sit at. They also have a tennis court, basketball court, and volleyball court. Best park I've been to so far! I will definitely come back soon!

Discovering a new park while trying to figure out dinner plans is even more epic. The Hawaii Kai neighborhood is often a quiet one, so I was interested in finding the Hahaione Valley Neighborhood park deep in the valley is always a blessing when I needed a place of solace to sort out what life has dealt to me on this particular day It was also a time to think about what was for dinner on a casual Sunday afternoon in April 2020. I arrived here around 4:30pm via public transportation. Only 1 route on The Bus comes through this stretch of paradise. This route is route 1L and 80A and probably only on the eastbound direction. It stops in front of the park, which is awesome! During my most recent stay at the Hahaione Valley Neighborhood park, I tended to just slow walk around the perimeter of the park (as most of my experiences at local parks are these days) and check out what this park has to offer. The plus side is that there's nice gym equipment for kids to play and families to gather here for an evening to spend time together. The equipment doesn't look aged at all and the park itself seems maintained on a weekly basis. There is also a nice tennis court on the property, which is nice for anyone who loves a pick up game of tennis. I should get back into it sometime when I am not running. I spent about an hour here relaxing, enjoying, and walking through the park before making my lunch plans. It's always nice to have the park do your serious thinking for you. The overall experience here at the Hahaione Valley Neighborhood park is classified as subtle, classic, and quiet. The wind that comes through the area is always brisk and sometimes breezy too. While I was here at the Hahaione Valley Neighborhood park, there was just a few of people here, not including myself. Neighborhood parks are a great and inexpensive way to spend the day without having to spend money. Of course, you can walk and cruise the mall, but chances are you don't spend money at a park. I love the groomed nature of the park and how neat and organized everything here is. I do enjoy the park picnic benches that are around the park. It's nice to be able to sit here and enjoy yourself while having an outside lunch or dinner before heading home. The quiet ambiance of Hahaione Valley Neighborhood park is what excites me when I can come back here. For the most part though, I ended up walking around the perimeter of the park, which isn't too far around. I also people watched as something to do while doing those laps. I enjoyed the fact that this neighborhood park is definitely clean and away from basically everything and off the main road. If you ever need the mental time off, consider coming here to rest and recharge. Although the 2020 pandemic can be a problem, do what you can so that the Hahaione Valley Neighborhood park can be of value to you. I'd recommend coming here if you are in the area and worth every second being here. It made me smile and hope it will bring you happiness too. The Hahaione Valley Neighborhood park has been a fun and soothing discovery. I'm glad that there is no visible homeless situation here - at least during the day. One major turn off when I come to neighborhood parks is the tents and all the garbage that's haphazardly on the property. I enjoyed my experience here at the Hahaione Valley Neighborhood park, especially because it is tucked away into the residential area. It makes for a perfect peaceful getaway that's sure to please anyone and everyone who comes here. The park its great for families and individuals. It's physical address is 785 Ainapo Street in the heart of Hawaii Kai. Like all community and neighborhood parks, there is no admission fee, which is awesome and expected. As far as parking goes, your best bet would be to try to find street parking on residential roads wherever you can to be as close to the park as possible. This dog looked like a pit mix and came up to my dog and almost seemed like a fight was going to start. Human nature made me yell at the owner since we were distant apart and he couldn't get his dog back. Please be responsible people! 1. Don't let your dog loose with no collar 2. Take your dogs to run at a dog park 3. It's the law to have a leash on your dog out in the public except when you go to offleash designated dog parks 4. When your dog is offleash in an area not designated, any damage to human/dog, owner of dog that caused bite will be held liable!!!

Parking is along side of the same street, on some days there can be quite a few stalls open. At this park, you have a basketball court, a playground center, picnic tables with benches and with a whole lot of grassy field to run around on. Like most parks, this one has a chain linked fence-line bordering the entire park for a sense of security while your little ones are playing and running around in the park. There is alot of vehicle traffic in the area so make sure your kids don't go running onto the streets if their ball goes over the fence. Enjoy!
