Had delivery from Naan-n-curry yesterday. Ordered the butter chicken and chicken korma, along with the garlic naan and the Jasmin rice. Food was delivered by Door Dash so take the delivery with a grain of salt. The food arrived and was a good portion for the two of us to eat. Chicken korma had a really nice flavour. Sauce was nice and thick, chicken pieces were very large. Butter chicken was good, not great. Didn't find it had as much flavour as others we've tried, but for some it may be perfectly fine. Our mistake was not realizing that these two dishes didn't have anything other than the chicken in them - so make sure you read the descriptions if you want to ensure that you get veggies. Last thing, which is more probably an issue with Door Dash, is that we didn't get any utensils with the food - but we made do in the hotel. Overall will try again another time we are in town and choose some of their other many options. read more

We ordered a take out form here yesterday. Ordered paneer tikka from the appetizer and matar paneer with Amritsari Kulcha and tandoori roti. The paneer tikka taste wise was good, however the food color in paneer could have been avoided, there were five chunks of paneer, good size but no capsicum or onion just one of each for five pieces of paneer. No green chutney just a small tiny yogurt dip, again the taste was good but the experience could be improved by adding few more onions and capsicum on the skewer and chutney. Matar paneer was good too, amritsari kulcha was huge bigger than the plate itself, was tasty too. We had it at room temperature after an hour when it was packed so May be that's why it turned a bit chewy but otherwise taste was nice read more

I'm not much of an adventurous eater but my fiancé was craving Indian and I know that Indian cuisine is very vegetarian-friendly. As well, some friends had raved about this place. I tried the Malai Kofta - which, honestly, usually if I don't know what something is, I won't try it. But I did. And so glad I did. It was amazing. It's now "my dish" whenever I go there. Which, admittedly, has just been the once but I'll be back for sure. 1,000%. Paired it with the garlic naan and I could just sit back and eat this all night. Service was very friendly too. Delicious!! Went on lunch break and got quick service! The Chicken Curry special with rice was so much, we had to take leftovers which was for be by me. I'm already wanting to go back to try other flavoured naans and curries! Lovely space, clean and comfortable. read more

We had a stone in our palak paneer and accidentally went in my mouth. The server told the supervisor issue and the supervisor came to our table and super rude, blaming us bringing the stone questioning us where it came from. We should be asking them where it came from. This supervisor really need to work on his customer service skills and we don't treat customers this way in Canada. Really unhygienic place to eat and rude unprofessional supervisor. I was persuaded by the other two in the car to try this new eatery as they were more eager to try out the newly opened restaurant on Quinpool . We got there 9.15 pm , there were 2 other tables with guest and we were the third . The order was taken 20 minutes after we were seated and the food arrived about 10.40 pm . We waited and waited , three other parties left as they did not opt to wait . Food came , curry was oily , Karahi paneer was edible , the naan was uncooked , when I asked the waitress if the naan was made fresh , she assured me it was but it wasn't . It is a frozen product reheated and served . Anyways all 3 of us had upset tummy's after eating there - suspect was the naan . read more

We decided to try this restaurant as it's relatively close and we were craving Indian. We typically make our own or go to a couple places we love, but it was late and they were closed. We purchased chicken korma, butter chicken, an order or rice, and two garlic naan orders. The rice was fine, enough for 2. The chicken korma was very bland, had honestly no flavour. The butter chicken was pretty much the same. It tasted like a canned sauce with absolutely no flavour or depth. I have quite honestly had better sauces from the grocery store VH bottles. The naan was huge but was VERY chewy (not in a good way, and not like any other naan I've ever had). It tasted reheated from frozen. Terrible. We will absolutely not order from here again and would discourage anyone with taste buds to do the same. read more

The huge slices of naan and creamy dal makhani weee highlights for me. The samosas were different than what I was used to (a smoother and less flaky crust with a maybe yogurt based sauce) and that was really fun to try. read more

I ordered the special and they said it would take 15 minutes. 40 minutes later, I was still waiting. This place has a few good reviews, but check the whole Yelp page and notice that "there is suspicious review activity" aka, they are likely faking positive reviews. I can recommend the Feasts as a good alternative (across the street a block down) or Curry Garden. The butter chicken was quite good, although the food is a bit overpriced in comparison to similar spots. Vegetarian selection is quite good. Staff is nice, although they do not have enough of them. I think the staff would be better off applying to work at other restaurants. read more

I've been looking for good Indian in Halifax for a long time. I heard this place was good and it lived up to the word! Huge size naan bread, very tasty and unique flavours in all the main dishes. We asked for the dishes to be hot and they were just the right amount of hotness for us but if you really want spicy you'll have to ask for extra. We will definitely be back. My only complaint is the cold temperarure of the restaurant due to no blocking of cold air getting in from the front door. Common problem in a lot of Halifax restaurants. read more

This place is amazing!! We've been in a couple times and tried about 7 or 8 different dishes and everything has been absolutely delicious. The garlic naan and vegetable korma are incredible. Ordered take out on Friday night to share with friends as we have not got together with for quite some time. We enjoyed the meal and thought it tasted great. However as the night went on, our friends ended up leaving early not saying why. Later we realized why, first it was me, very sick, then my wife. Next day our friends advised they were also sick over night. This continued until Sunday before we got relief. We concluded that we all had food poisoning as a result of the food we ate fromNaan Curry. We did not have any other food. Mine was a home delivery. This was the second time. The first time food was slightly better but this time it was pretty bad. Ordered Kadai Paneer, Malai Kofta and Kerala Parotta. As you could see in the pictures, there were probably 5 cubes of paneer bathed in oil. I asked to make it mild however it was very spicy and there were a handful of black pepper cones that I bit a couple of times, burned my mouth. In my previous order it was the same, loads and loads of whole black pepper cones. I picked those paneer cubes and ditched the whole container of oil, some mixed peppers and black pepper cones in the garbage. Kerala Parotta was pre maid, kept in the freezer and reheated. In the picture you could see that the raw dough and it was not cooked. Indian food is not making everything super spicy by adding loads of chili powder and whole black pepper cones. I am from India. I would recommend going somewhere else. I would never order from this place again read more

This was my first time trying this establishment and unfortunately I was very disappointed in the whole experience. The food came packaged in a very clumsy fashion- sauce all over the bag, dishes upside down. The food had no flavour and the portion size did not justify the price. They charge you separately for rice and naan when other places include it. I'm a big fan of butter chicken but this place has the worst I've ever had. 0/10 I'm never going back. read more

We ate dinner at Nann-n-Curry this evening and we were very impressed by the taste of the food. The naan bread was amazing, the curries super yummy and the service lovely. Great to see some new eateries on Quinpool. We will be back! read more

Decided to give this spot a try since I was craving some Indian food. Specifically I was craving very spicy Indian food so I was disappointed to see that they did not appear to have any traditionally spicy dishes such as Vindaloo, Madras or Dhansak. The only spicy dish they appeared to have was chicken saagwala, which I had never had before, but regardless, I requested it to be made extra spicy when I ordered it. I don't believe any effort was made to make it extra spicy though. There were too many whole spices but in fairness, it did mention whole spices in the description, I just didn't expect for there to be so many. I also tried the man chow soup which is a strange Asian-Indian fusion type of soup. It was fine, not really all that notable though. I also got a side of chilli sauce hoping it would be home-made but it seemed like it was store bought asian chilli garlic sauce. I also got some traditional pickles but they were way way way too salty. And I usually love salty foods. Not bad, but I probably won't try it again until they change up their menus to more interesting choices. read more

Went to Nann-n-Curry located at the corner of Quinpool and Oxford in Halifax. I am surprised of the reviews giving this restaurant a thumbs up for their food!! I am sorry to add, maybe these reviewers have not had the pleasure of tasting quality Indian food. The food we were served was horrible. The Naan it seemed was reheated as it was cold. The Lamb Korma ordered was also served cold. When we requested that the food be heated again, it took them about 20 minutes to bring the food back to our table!! Adding insult to injury, we also ordered Pilau Rice and instead was served Plain Rice!! In totality, the food we ordered took over 40 minutes to arrive from the time we were seated, although the restaurant was not busy, and the only server seemed to be overwhelmed. I am an Asian Canadian (not of Indian origin) and fully agree with one of the reviewers who stated that the management may not be eager to serve Asian customers. Maybe, because these customers originating from the Indian Sub-Continent know what real Indian food tastes like, which, unlike the food that maybe served to unsuspecting non-Asian customers. Secondly, after we were seated, we were overlooked over Caucasian Canadians as these Canadians were served first although they arrived later than us. I am reluctant giving this restaurant even a one star rating. I would give this restaurant a negative rating if possible, for their food and service. Sadly, I will not recommend this restaurant as a place to eat Indian food to my friends and others. read more
