The environment itself was fine although I felt like I was snapped out of relaxing a handful of times from people upstairs and doors opening/closing in the hallway. Massage itself was good/decent but inconsistent in some areas. Checkout felt awkward, with a lot of emphasis/pressure around tipping and packages. I was told to just sign so when I did she asked if I tipped and there wasn't a way to go back. I just tipped cash. Overall, not a bad massage, but the lack of communication and pushy upselling left a bad impression and made me uncomfortable. I'll likely try somewhere else before coming back if I do.

But to back up -- when I first walked in I asked d a 30 minute chair massage but when they set up the chair it looked broken and wasn't comfortable so I asked for a bed massage instead. She said she could do 15 minutes and I said OK. The bed was in a clean and comfortable private room and the massage was fine. However, it lasted maybe 11 minutes tops. However, given that her technique was somewhat scattered and was pretty simplistic, it was obvious that she didn't have the skills nor the attention span for anything longer than 10 minutes, so it was just as well. Anyway I don't want to complain too much about having someone rub your back and scratch your head for maybe 11 minutes, which, let's face it, always feels pretty good. And it was only $15 (she charged me $10 and I tipper her $5 because, well, why not).

The woman who did the waxing was Lainie or Lonnie or something like that. I can't remember and I threw away the card after my awful experience. First of all, you have to wind your way through ugly, industrial hallways to even get to the spa section of the place. I was scared I wouldn't be able to find my way out. The room she put me in was extremely warm, and when I mentioned it, she just ignored me and told me it was just because the massage table was heated. She started with my eyebrows and told me that she likes to work quickly. I was definitely okay with that because who wants a wax to last long? Anyway, even though I told her I liked the natural looking, fuller brow, she waxed below AND above the brow line and totally thinned my brows into lines. I was angry since my brother's wedding was that weekend, but figured I could pencil them in. T he bikini was was very painful, of course but seemed mostly okay. That is until two days later when I realized the hair hadn't been pulled out, but ripped off at the surface so that it was already growing back in weird patches. Gross, I know.
