And even if you want a little snack, there's CJ's Evergreen General Store & Catering. That's walking distance from the park. The store even sells peanuts for the squirrels. If you come here a lot, you know the squirrels are super friendly and they love a good bite to eat. It's one of my favorite parks to go to with my family. Helpful tip: If you are parking in the boat parking area. Please don't park in the middle. They will ticket you. The middle is for people that have boats. The ticket guy will come by and give you a ticket. I've seen it happen plenty of times. There's not a big sign that say it but there is a sign on the far left.

It is "dogs welcome" though signage posted next to the rest-room building alerts that they must remain on a leash & to "pick up after your pet" both as required by city law, fines apply - just about everyone participates at least in the "controlled by a leash" part no matter the size and temperament of the pet at the moment! Don't know about the other. Information about the city off leash Bark Park at Pendergast is included on the sign (there is a off leash dog park in Silverdale too). Both are about 7 miles way from the park. Nice view of the Narrows, Mt Rainier & the Olympics to enjoy while there.

Beautiful colored skies, nice lighting, and no distractions whatsoever. Mother Nature was good to us that day. We definitely took our time with our shots and made the most of the evening. Other than that, the park is great for walk/jogs and just a nice peaceful area to be at with the waters right next to it. There is also a baseball field, tennis courts and a basketball court, but it was closed during the pandemic. They even unscrewed the basketball hoops off the courts. Just a great stress reliever at this park. :)

What's unique about this small little park is that it's a Community P-Patch Garden and Demonstration Garden. From my research I've found that it started in 2009 and has grown significantly over the last four years. The garden program is a partnership between WSU Extension Master Gardener Program and the City of Bremerton Parks & Recreation Department. The Land was known as White's Blueberry Farm, a commercial enterprise that harvested blueberry plants. I've heard that a small number of the original blueberry plants remain and can be found in the NW corner of today's Blueberry Park. This place seems like a great place for new gardeners just starting out, or for seasoned gardeners looking to share their knowledge with others. They even donate most of the produce to the Bremerton Food Line. It's worth a stop just to relax a bit and check out gardens that other folks have been working on.

I would be careful though, there are a c homeless drug addics who hand around that place. Some times I can hear this one guy screaming from down the hill. But I do not recommend for kids to come here alone and stuff cause of that one guy. there's also a field down the hill that's near the school building. It's really fun to go and hang out there, but that's also where the drug addict is. There's also a swing set that lost its swings. it makes me sad whenever I see it, because I love swings. It's also super liminal. If you head to a road that leads to the road net to the school building, there is a pot hole that's shaped like a heart. I think it's really aesthetic. Right next the park there's a giant patch of barren land. on the edge, there is a wall covered in graffiti. I went there with my little sister once and splattered old paint all over it. We also found an old wet porn mag on the floor. that was funny. I'm gonna make a backrooms level based off this park because it looks really liminal at night. I like this park. I wish it was big enough to have a wendigo in it. That would be cool.

Highlights include a natural "Native Plants" trail, a butterfly house, beach access, picnic areas, Master Gardeners demonstration garden sponsored b Washington State University Extension. And there's great charm in visiting each little plotted area that children care for, growing veggies for a local food bank. It's easy to fall in love with the place and end up volunteering on sundry projects and events and care of the park.

However, this park is so amazing I think I can rate it 5/5 stars without needing to visit the visitor center! Discovery Park is Seattle's largest park and has amazing views of the Cascade and the Olympic Mountain ranges. You can head down to the tidal beaches to look at sea critters if you time it during a very low tide, or visit any time to hike and admire the forest, cross the open meadows, and listen to the streams crisscrossing the park. There's even a lighthouse! During summer season, there's a free shuttle bus Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to help you get around the park, as it's so large some people might be put off by the distances needed to walk around the various points of interest.

My husband grew up in Magnolia, so he took me here for a hike last weekend, and I was completely blown away. ​We explored the south side and walked the Loop Trail. The path is well-maintained and offers stunning panoramic views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. It's hard to believe you're still within the city limits! We had some time to burn so came to check out Scenic Beach State Park. It was not too crowded on an early Friday morning, so parking was abundant. We wandered around the day use area and down by the water. The view is spectacular! Surrounded by tall trees and forest it really feels like you are far from everything and is very serene. The restrooms were clean as was the park itself. There are plenty of picnic tables and a well-appointed playground for the littles.
