I asked around 12:28pm getting impatient because I have to go back to work if my order was ready since she gave the other girl part of her order. She asked what it was and I explained it was an online order that should've been ready 10 minutes ago. She told me she barely received it and I told her that wasn't true, I placed the order at 12:03. She continued trying to play it off and said she just got my order and that she was working on another online order. My order wasn't ready until 12:38, 20 minutes past the time it was supposed to be. When I explained that I ordered ahead of time because I have somewhere to be, she gave me an attitude. Disheartening that she couldn't just own up to not having my order ready. She ended up upgrading my drink to an XL instead of a L but it wasn't really worth it in the time I waited. It was also very sweet when I ordered 50% rather than 75 or 100. Also, the online ordering is useless because they take long regardless. If you want quick service like boba cafes should be, this isn't the place. The only reason I give them two stars is because the drinks taste decent (most of the time).

I really like Gong Cha's non-plastic straws. I believe they're made from sugar cane fibers. Unlike paper straws they don't just disintegrate

I don't like Nadia's cupcakes they are too sugary. They taste like your eating a cup of sugar. I will not set foot into that place. I always think of it as a hateful place. My wife had this idiot harrasing her telling her she is going to beat her up.( BIG mistake because my wife can do a pretty good number on her.) She's a big Nadia fan and walks around " OH Nadia will make me any cake I want attitude" Good for her, Nadia can make all the cakes she wants for this awful person. Not a fan will not even get near that place. I perfer Double D's anytime. They are freindly and well worth every dime. UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The owner and I had a private conversation and I have to admit it went well. I was very pleased to know that she also promotes anti-bulling. I had told her my personal story about this awful person and it turned out she doesn't even know this person. How can people lie and act like they are better than anyone. I'm still not a fan but I will change my STAR review because of the compasion and understanding to our situation and others as well. I'm still a Double D's fan and always be. So back up a few months since my last review, it's been so long since I've been back! I went in today with my son in law, and I saw my favorite Nadia employee, Mo, who is still as sweet as ever! The shop hasn't changed much As far as atmosphere, although I thought it was adorable that they have the "fall" decorations up! I was telling everyone about the exciting commercials that have been circulating on the av tv channels,and I cannot believe the nightmare on christmas cake they have on display! I'm so proud of this Bakery! Anyway, We ordered the 4 for ten and got a Moose Tracks, Red Velvet (of course), Lemon and Candied Yam. Red Velvet and Lemon have not changed one bit, they're still delicious. The moose tracks was my sons and he loved it and I tried the candied yam and that was to die for! It does taste more like the spice cake though, I might add. Maybe try adding more yam? What do I know, I'm just an old lady! I hardly ever get to visit, but when I do, I never ever have a bad thing to say about this lovely shop. read more

I can't begin to tell you how pleasantly surprised I was to find this place after years of driving to Porto's for all my cakes. Abby is amazing. Her cake is probably the best I have ever tasted (for those of you who have been to Porto's- that's a HUGE compliment!) and the designs are out of this world. I'm a big believer in letting the professionals do what they do so I really didn't give her much guidence when it came to my cake. She took what she had and ran with it and she knocked my socks off. Handmade flowers, beautiful color- I can't say enough about this cake! I had a crowd around it the whole time. One warning though... the cake is like a magnet for little children who want to touch it. I had a finger hole in it by the end of the first hour. Not the fault of Nadia Cakes of course- the cake was just a victim of it's own success! I highly recommend this place for all your really special events. She's awesome and she's here in Palmdale!!!! Always moist, always FRESH. I like the peanut butter one and the cheese cake is good too. They have a lot of flavors so deciding is the hardest part. I would love to try their cake some day, they have some in display that are beautiful and some that are just plain quirky. A note to the haters: A cupcake is the size of the cupcake pan and I am pretty sure it is universal now. The decorations and frosting IS EXTRA and you can always take some off if they are too generous. If you don't like the proportions, remember the cupcakes are the same size as other places! Geesh people, you never remove the frosting from cake before? I don't happen to like berries but my favorite cupcake is the cheese cake and they put berries on it. Guess what? I just remove the berries and enjoy the rest of it just fine. Had they not put all that on I am sure you guys would complain there wasn't enough. No satisfying some people ya know? read more

I live in Beverly Hills, and I've waited in the lines, and I've tasted the creme del la creme, and I've paid the high prices, and frankly, none of them are as good as this place. I love it when I find great businesses in unexpected places. And when I say unexpected, I grew up in the Antelope Valley, and a top notch cupcake shop isn't what I think of when I think of home (Joshua trees come to mind). But it's there and its way better than anything I've tasted here, or in New York. I never considered myself a cupcake connoisseur (nor do I really want to), but if you're married like me, chances are you've been dragged to a few cupcake shops. This is one of those shops you won't mind being dragged to. It really out shines the competition and you won't be disappointed. read more

The AV is sooo ready for this type of business! Premium quality, beautiful, Food Network style cakes that you don't have to drive to LA for or take out a second mortgage on your house to afford. I almost jumped for joy when I found this lady since I've been driving to Long Beach ( yes, Long Beach) twice a year for my kid's birthday cakes. It's great to open up the cake chioces beyond Costco and Baskin Robbins! I've ordered from her twice now and I give her an 11 out of 10 in every catagory. My family loves Nadia Cakes! The extra cost (over making them out of a box or buying them from a grocery store...really?) is sooo worth it. If you are going to pay $5 for Starbucks, then you can pay $2.75 for one of the best cupcakes you will ever eat. Actually, do yourself a favor and get 4 for $10--it's better than 2 cups of coffee. Everything is fresh and moist and the team is creative with flavors so you never have to have the same one twice, even though you will want to. We went to Nadia for my daughters baby shower cake, and from the very first encounter we were very impressed. Both the customer service and taste of the cakes were absolutely amazing. My daughter had a vision of a pink and brown ladybug cake and we got exactly what we requested. My daughters vision became a reality when she walked into her baby shower and saw the most beautiful cake she had ever seen. i heard alot about nadia cakes from a friend of mine, and went to go check it out on nov 13th, which was probably the most craziest day for them ,but besides the long wait i was greeted by really nice workers, that listened to what i wanted, and were very helpful! they had you write down the cupcakes you wanted and had them ready by the time you went up to the front, all in all nadia cakes is my number 1 spot for my cupcake needs. read more

My husband loves their apple fritter and I love their glazed donuts, I'm simple, but honestly whatever you get will be good. Their ham and cheese croissants are sooo good too. It has been a long time since a fryer oil donut made its way home in my family's box. They have a good selection of donuts. The donut holes are particularly tasty, always fluffy and well glazed. While still not my preferred place for a buttermilk bar, J & J is one of best overall donut shops in the AV. Their staff is also always friendly!
