I had procrastinated far too long knowing my delay was only contributing to my dental issues. One day I happened to receive an oversized postcard advertising this dental practice located in Hollister Ca. The emphasis was on the office philosophy which stated clearly that no judgment was ever made on the patients current condition . Acknowledgment of how many of us feel having delayed treatment ( embarrassment & shame ) and emphasized they were only concerned with identifying the solution and assisting the patient with obtaining the best possible treatment to address all ongoing dental needs. Intrigued I called and was immediately impressed with the prompt response to my inquiry and I obtained an appointment which was a no charge assessment and a detailed treatment plan with the recommended course of action. The staff was positive and reassuring and Dr. Rauch was simply wonderful. Having introduced himself he quickly realized that I was pretty vulnerable and apologetic for having let my dental needs becoming so desperate. He was quick to reassure me and state that what mattered most at this moment was to move forward and focus on the solution. He was encouraging, supportive and obviously sincere. I was convinced this was my new Dentist and am here now to encourage anyone who has been delaying or procrastinating to obtain dental care this is the Dentist for you. Most significantly, Dr. Mark Reber joined Bright Now! in Hollister as of 02/01/23. This change is significant because this Bright Now! location has only one dentist (now Dr. Mark Reber) and one orthodontist. Therefore, when reading reviews, it is important to keep this personnel change date in mind.   The ratings I gave Bright Now! Dental is based on 20 years of my wife and I utilizing Dr. Reber as our dentist. Previously, Dr. Reber owned Serenity Comprehensive Dental Care in Morgan Hill for about ten years. Before that, he was the co-owner of NEXT Dentistry in Salinas for at least ten years. My wife and I have always found Dr. Reber to perform excellent dental work. Furthermore, as an owner, Dr. Reber always maintained an office environment that was pleasant and efficient. I expect it is Dr. Reber's intention to do the same at Bright Now! Dental & Orthodontics.  I do have a concern. In general, the Bright Now! Dental & Orthodontics chain has less than stellar Yelp reviews. Most noticeably, there is usually a strong underlying theme of hard upselling of additional services (profit-makers that insurance generally will not cover and that many consider unnecessary). There is a difference between mentioning additional services available and a hard upsell. While operating dental offices as an owner, Dr. Reber always seemed to know the line not to cross in this regard. It is my hope that the Bright Now! chain will allow him to continue this same discretion. Time will tell. If you do visit this office, please post your own ratings and at least a short review with your comments. Bright Now! Dental is a dental chain that does its best to offer a full range of dental services without any unnecessarily expensive overhead. As a result, Bright Now! Dental is able to accept most dental insurance. If you don't have insurance, Bright Now! Dental & Orthodontics will still try to accommodate you at a reasonable cost. Unfortunately for some, the Bright Now! Dental & Orthodontics office in Hollister does not appear to accept Medi-Cal/DentalCal/Access-Dental-Plan (ADP). That is not uncommon as Medi-Cal pays doctors and dentists very low rates. Typically only large, impersonal, high-volume offices can accept such low rates and not lose money. What am I most disappointed in? Two things. One, a Charlotte V., shown as "owner" always responds to Yelp & Google reviews. However, the same complaints get posted over & over, so one has to begin to wonder if the recurring complaints aren't caused by something going on with the chain's management. Two is a nitpick. After three months, Dr. Reber still does not have his bio or picture posted on the Bright Now! website, this from a website that encourages you to schedule an appointment for yourself online! I said we can just cancel if you prefer, and she said oh no, I'll talk to the doctor. I said really, I'd rather cancel. If this was me calling, I'm SURE they would not be as accommodating.
