Great experience. Caught 14 tunas and 23 mahi. Kept the boys busy all day. Highly recommend.

My only issue has come up twice and after a little research I have decided that it is worth mentioning. On both trips, after the fish were laid out on the dock, the mate took fish and put them back on the boat. On both occasions, he carefully inspected the fish to ensure that he took some of the best. This was done after we tipped him very well and without asking the people that paid for the charter if this was ok. I checked around and found that this is not a common practice and folks were pretty shocked about hearing of it. I didn't want to make a scene at the time as there were a lot of people on the dock looking at the boats as they returned with their catch. Again, overall a good experience, but it ended in a way that left us feeling like were had been taken advantage of. Not sure if we will go with these guys again with so many other options.

That gave us no "feel" for fishing or the fight when catching a fish. In fairness, the Captain did all he could to find tuna, with several being caught - that was ok. The mate meanwhile was quite a challenge, bordering on rude and insolent to all of us. Because of that, would not recommend.

Repeat customer! Done whole and half days with him. Sent my whole family out with him (he can…read morehost 4 passengers). Cpt Donnie is a great guide. All the rods were ready to go as soon as we got out there. He again did a great job putting us on the fish. (We just want to catch, not picky with what we're catching!). His boat rides smooth and he does a good job of keeping it as still as possible when fishing. (Meaning, it doesn't require a lot of balance to stand and fish and move about the boat - the sides are high enough that you don't have to worry about falling off. One of my children has balance issues, so this is a real plus for us.) another one of my kids gets motion sickness easily, but has never had a problem on his boat. My third kid has ADHD and is super hyper, and Cpt. Donnie was great with him (never lost his patience and even seemed to entertain him.) He's taken us around Oregon inlet and behind bodie island lighthouse. Scenery is a beautiful as the experience is fun. Dolphins are always spotted - we generally go in mid-October during our annual obx vacation. We look forward to going out with him again next year. Would definitely recommend.
