I love love Sophia. Every time I'm here I'm always happy with my nail service and all the techs are so friendly!

This visit was NOT what I expected and it left an incredibly bad impression about this salon. The upselling by the staff was non stop. I don't do acrylics - and I didn't want a gel manicure. Savannah, my technician spoke English but there was still some confusion when she talked about certain terms and techniques. I just wanted a standard manicure and did NOT want a gel polish. My normal natural nails had grown out nicely. And when I do get a a regular gel polish, my nails are strong and resilient. I thought she recommended a base strengthening polish followed by a traditional coat. I was to be traveling soon and wanted to be able to redo my own nails without requiring an entire hardware store to get rid of any color. Good grief, at the start, she just continued to coat my nails with some sort of goo that required multiple applications and subsequently multiple electric tools to level, buff and whatever else. This was absolutely not what I wanted or expected, but not knowing what I signed up for I let it continue. It was too late to change the progression now. Finally, she put on the color and guess what? More gel. I always like my nails squared off. It's just my preference. But they encouraged me to try an oval shape as it "lengthened the fingers and were better for my natural nail shape". OK, you folks are the experts. Wasn't a fan at all after they were cut and filed, but too little too late. While I was getting the manicure, I was aghast when Savannah looked at my face and commented on my eyebrows. I was astounded that she would do that. It was glaringly obvious that she was trying to sell a wax job. I wanted no part of it. Before my manicure, my husband and I had pedicures side by side. We like to relax, quietly chat between ourselves and just enjoy the pampering. I do not recall the name of my husband's technician, but she talked incessantly. When we politely tried to engage in whatever conversation she initiated she barely listened as she was more concerned how she was going to respond rather than what we contributed to the discussion. I couldn't wait to get out of there. We tipped generously but that's who we are. Service was rendered and gratuity matched the payment. We often see who we expect is the owner driving around town in a silver atrocious Tesla with his double swan logo. We are choosing to never support any of his salons again. read more

I'm very been getting my nails done for over 20 years. I spent weeks growing them out so I could transition to an almond shape nail. My nails were so long and the nail tech asked me if the length was ok. I said yes but then she proceeded to file every bit of length away. Worse looking nails I've ever had. Her response was I'm sorry. The owners response was we're sorry and next time you come in we'll give you 20% off. Extremely poor customer service. With all the nail salons nearby, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I k ow I'll never be back. Extremely Unsafe - Got a Skin Infection from Their Pedicure! I'm beyond disappointed and honestly shocked. I went to this nail salon expecting a relaxing pedicure, but instead, I ended up with cellulitis and folliculitis--both painful infections--after they used a scrub during the service. Within days, my legs were red, swollen, and sore. I had to seek medical treatment and take antibiotics to clear it up. Clearly, their hygiene and safety protocols are lacking, and their products or tools are not being handled properly. No one should leave a nail salon worse off than when they arrived--especially not with a serious skin infection. Do not risk your health by going here. It's just not worth it read more

Sophia was attentive and accommodating during my appointment! Even as I changed my mind about the color and shape, she was quick to be flexible while maintaining a positive, professional, and helpful attitude! The only minor (very minor) downfall is a lot of employees were on their phones, one was sleeping in a pedicure chair, others were eating by all the nail equipment - it was a very slow day, however it felt a bit odd as if I was intruding on their break or something as I got my nails done. My experience was not peaceful or tranquil as stated on the website. Employees eat at their work station, speak loudly in Vietnamese language. They do not use esstial oils in the pedicures, tubes are not clean and left because I did not feel valued as a customer. read more

I had just about been to every nail salon in Beaufort when someone recommended the Nail Bar. Knowing what I do now, I was fortunate on my first appointment to get Jenny to do my nails. She is absolutely stupendous! She takes her time, listens, and even recommends new colors or ideas. Loved the place so much not only get my pedicures done there (everyone I have had do my toes have been wonderful), but also take my daughter there! Three of us went to get our nails done on our vacation and we're all very disappointed. For the gel manicure they cut half my nails off after I requested not touching the shape and are uneven. As well as they got polish all over my cuticles as week. For the classic manicure they proceeded to use their own nails to push back her cuticles instead of the tools the salon has. As for the acrylic full set, she pointed out how they weren't even after she first shaped them and after going back and reshaping they still weren't correct. Once she corrected then she said it was because of the shape of her nails. The place is clean and cute but I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. I went there three days ago, and I had my nails done. I had gel done on my nails when the gels came completely off one of my nails, went back to the salon. to let them know. They tried to fix it, but kept getting the color wrong, she also applied gel to my nails that had already been finished in which my pinky nail become bubbly after she inserted it in to the light. finally I just said take it off, the technician was very rough with my hands. She cut my cuticle twice when taking the nail color off with a dremel and put a blue substance on the cut with a cotton ball, she also tried to file my nails which didn't needed to be file and wanted to buff my nails ,at that point I just washed my hands and left. I love how their check in process is on a tablet when you walk in which makes it super simple! I got a basic gel manicure and it took about 30 minutes from start to finish. Sloppy painting job on both of us. When finished left station and never said anything. Anything. Were not offered to let dry with uv light or fan. 2 hours later polish is peeling off. I will definitely be coming back to this nail salon. It was clean and staff were friendly. I was a walk-in and barely had a wait (granted it was on a Tuesday at 10:00). It started to pick up around 11:00 or 12:00. I noticed some patrons had appointments so you might want to book an appointment just in case. They do offer complimentary beverages, however I was not offered one so be sure to offer every customer. I'm sure I could have asked but it felt weird. I got a pedicure and Mary was my technician. Mary was efficient and I would recommend her as a technician. My friend on the other hand had a different technician and grimaced in pain a few times. Not sure I would want her working on my pedicure. All in all, definitely check this salon out. The only downfall is parking and of course the salon is downtown and you have to pay for parking, but it's worth a trip. read more

I would just like to highly recommend Savannah for a pedicure. It is actually the best pedicure that I ever had. She took the time to clean around the toenail and properly paint them. Would not recommend Miss Gennie to do your nails first of all I went in for gel fill-in she charged me five extra dollars just to trim my nails back and she had just done them three weeks before. I've never been charged for my nails to be trimmed back when I was getting a fill-in. Also, she did not clean up around the fill-in where my cuticles are. Asked for acrylics and was talked into dip nails instead she said they were "less toxic" which dip nails are just acrylic powder...but not only that she said that dip was $55 and acrylic was $65. I left paying $65 anyways because they charge extra for shaping and later looked on the website to find out I was deceived, acrylics on their website are only $35. I made a reservation a day in advance for a gel manicure with removal. Upon arrival, the staff seemed confused and disoriented which was deeply unsettling. I was rushed to the chair where my manicurist flew through the service with little care, she shaved off the top layer of my nails, got the polish all over my hands, and left my nails jagged. I genuinely could have done a better job on my nails than she did. I had to fix them when I got home. Horrible service and atmosphere. The place was extremely junky and felt unclean. Very upset when I left here. Made an appointment but the one person that could do it was with someone else. So I had to do an acrylic fill. One employee told me "Next time, if you wanna do TAP, don't do it on Sunday. When i called and made my appointment, they knew what I wanted done. I also told them I could come whenever.
