I love the service here Tom is the best at doing eyebrows and Lily is that girl when it comes to nails

4 years later and I'm back! The quality hasn't changed a bit and I can't remember why I stopped coming here. They have a cash option which is a little less than using your card, so bring cash! I can say that overall I'm in and out within an hour, service is always speedy and I typically make an appointment with Lily. The energy of all the staff is the same, warm, welcoming and helpful!

I've been going to Lily for a while now and she's so talented. She can do any design you ask for! She's also pretty fast too. 10/10 recommend. Always get so many compliments on my nails

The first finger looks kinda like a duck nail and does not match my other nails at all

Went there today. The lady did amazing on my feet that's why I gave it two stars. But the hands oh no babyyy. She messed up my nails bad. I usually go to another nail salon in dc but this one was closer to where I was at the moment. She seemed rushed and when I told her about my middle finger being messed up she didn't fix it. Not worth spending your money here. Maybe on the feet but not the nails.

Christine is absolutely wonderful and my nails look amazing!! She takes care and time to make sure my nails look perfect.

She blocked me on Instagram instead of apologizing or trying to find a solution

Do not go to Lily! The nail quality doesn't match the high prices charged. Paid $165 for a full set with a bumpy finish. Made an appointment on 3/13 for a fill. She asked me to send her the styles ahead of time. Once I got there, she told me, she couldn't do the styles I wanted. I had to settle for plain polish at $90! My started lifting before the week ended. I Contacted her yesterday on Instagram about the issue, but she blocked me without acknowledgment. Disappointing to pay so much for poor quality and wasted time traveling to the salon. Do not let Lily waste your time or money! You should be upfront and honest with people if you're not able to do the styles that they're requesting.

As many times As I have been to nail salons in DC, this has to be one of my top 3 best nails salons yet!! I was accompanied by Lily and Christine who were both very sweet, welcoming, patient, and might I add, GREAT at what they do. Despite the pricing of full sets being a little expensive as the years go by, I would rather give my money to something I know will last and look amazingLily did a great job and is very versatile. She can mimic any design you give her and is precise in her work! Ill be sure to come back!

I've been going to them for more than 5 years. They've recently renovated the place so it looks a lot nicer. Christine is great and she takes her time to make sure she does a good job so I usually ask for her. Helen and Mimi are pretty good too and they do bikini wax if you ask them.

I look forward to getting my nails done at the Nail Spot & Spa. I've been Lily's client for 1 year now and she does AMAZING NAILS!! She's very bubbly and pleasant. My overlay lasts long and I'm always getting compliments on my nails. When I've sent Lily picture's of the nail design I'm getting. She recreates the design to look exactly like the picture. If not BETTER than the picture! She's just so talented, I'm always in Awe of her work! Lily is not just a nail tech to me, she's a nail artist

I have had the GelX and the builder gel, and my toes done. Cindy did my builder gel and I tell you i even got compliments on face time. lol. I absolutely love them because they look so natural and they are my natural nails! My nails are so thin and when she removed my GelX she was very gentle with the drilling and filing and was very patient and quick. 10/10! Cindy also gave me a small hand massage and put lotion on me after service. My only issue was with my pedicure when he rushed a bit and didn't remove all of my previous gel polish and that big toe is already slightly larger than my left so it's something I've noticed but others haven't. When I go back for a color change I'll make sure all the gel is removed and the toe nails are even. Service was still a 10/10 and he asked me multiple times if I liked it and I said yes! It's not that noticeable until you're like me and like to look at your feet in heels and sandals. Oh and they take walk ins, last minute appointments and try to have you sit with your party. Also wine and beverages were offered. I highly recommend them!

I had to go back the next day but I realized there was still one nail where the top coat didn't cover all of the nail. That meant the sticker was jutting out a bit and irritating my skin. The nail artist is pretty decent with simple art and with most sticker application. I had wanted it all to be nail art and for them to tell me they couldn't do 3D nails. There is at least one sticker on each nail. Also I had to coax her to not give up but she was insistent on simply stickering every nail to make it go faster. The pedi was alright and pretty painless. The nail artist just missed a spot of paint and accidentally got a dot of red paint on the right big toe. I think about 2.5 hours was spent in total during the first visit and less than 10 minutes fixing the issues with the nails in the next visit.

I'm a girl who loves a good manicure and was mega excited to find a place in DC while I was in…read moretown. I traveled a few miles to get here and probably should have chosen a place closer to my hotel. Arrived at 9:30am for my reserved appointment and one of the ladies got to work removing my previous set. While she wrapped my nails and let them sit in acetone, the next person got to work on my pedicure. Ok so I was probably at this location for about 20 minutes when 2 ladies walked in. They were almost immediately offered water, green tea etc. While up to this point, I wasn't offered anything until much later than when I arrived. Also the disposition towards these two was generally sunnier and much more accommodating. (They were asked multiple times if their water temp was too hot/too cold etc) Now, the pedicure was fine. The gentleman who worked on my feet was nicer and he definitely perked up when we talked about my hometown. Also they had 3 people work on my nails which just put a bad taste in my mouth. It makes it much messier when it comes to tipping (I'll get to the tipping part later) Another sour item was they swapped out the nail color I chose. I specifically asked for a certain color of red. They pulled it out for me and had it on the ready, and right before she got to painting, someone else asked for the same color, they let the other customer use it and gave me something comparable. Super duper rude. I was already over this place at this point, so I obliged (I'm way too nice for my own good). Also gonna mention here that my cuticles are currently in pain because of them getting cut badly (never has ever happened back at home) Lastly, the tipping part. So when I went to tip, I had to personally give the tips to each person who worked on my nails. Not sure if it's a rule/law but running around small nail shop to track down the folks who worked on my nails doesn't necessarily scream customer service to me. It could have gotten collected at the front and distributed appropriately but I digress. Interesting time at Happy Nails Bar. I was in DC for work so I won't be back. I'm a person who loooooooves customer service and looooooves spending money on a great experience. Unfortunately, I spent the money without having the best experience. Edit: Coming back to this review to say it's been 7 days and two of my nails popped off.

My toes I feel like are simple- scrub, cut the dead, then paint. I don't know what it was but like yall I do not like the paint job. It looks like there was maybe too much polish on the brush so it's kinda bulky towards the root of the toe. Like this thick polish. I looked down when she was done and immediately was like wait why my feet look like that? The paint job is just idk, sloppy. Idk I just didn't like it. I mentioned it and she was super super nice and like buffed them and painted on top but fr probably shoulda been taken OFF and redone. I told her I know the polish is gonna start chipping because it's too thick... and even when she tried to buff and redo I knew the job should have been started over. I just didn't have the time or patience and it's intro to the summer so they see done enough for my flip flops and maybe it's just that stylist and not the salon but it was my first time and never going back. But! They do serve some wine and even though I think my tech was questioning my age for way too long bc I guess ASKED for the wine and maybe seemed to young and pressed but I mean no one offered so yeah... Good massage chairs, they have "happy hour" prices where they knock some dollars off. Like my service was solid but I truly just don't like the pedicure I received and I don't feel like my standards are high lol. Three days into my pedicure per my estimate the toenails started peeling and looking a hot messssss.

The doorway is around the corner on 4th, where they post a small sidewalk sign to direct you upstairs. Also, the phone number in Yelp goes to a different number and there is no voicemail message confirming that you got the right place. I came on Wednesday morning during a heat wave and was happy to find a tidy, clean and well air-conditioned space with a friendly staff. Fun hygiene, tidbit: the manager tells me that when health inspectors come by every couple of months, they don't even check to see if the facility has single use plastic tub liners. Of course, District absolutely uses a clean liner for every pedicure customer. It's a key element in avoiding infections. And of course, they autoclave their tools on site for sterility.. as a registered nurse. This sort of thing is top of my list. Sorry I don't live in this town or this would be my regular spot.

I originally came in for a pedicure and a full set, but I ended up not getting the full set I'll explain why. When I sat down, I was never asked if I wanted a drink, while other white customers around me were. I was also not given a menu to choose the type of pedicure I wanted. That immediately rubbed me the wrong way treat everyone the same. I asked for square nails and told her multiple times not to round them, yet she continued to do so anyway. I requested French toes with a soft pink base and black tips, but she acted like she couldn't find the colors. At that point, I told her to just do solid black to keep it moving. When we went to her nail station, I showed her the reference for the full set pink acrylic with a black French tip. She tried to tell me it wasn't possible and claimed she only had gel polish. I had to pull up a TikTok and show her, and suddenly she understood exactly what I meant. By then, I already knew my nails were about to be messed up, so I told her to just do a manicure instead. I paid over $100, and my polish is already peeling off. On top of that, the tools do not appear to be properly disinfected, which is unacceptable. I am a board-certified esthetician, and this experience was extremely unprofessional. Connie was careless, and this salon overall was a huge disappointment. I will not be returning. So pissed my gel polish is already coming off..
