I've visited this place a few times, I always come back with in two weeks for a fill in but magically they say you need a full set because of lifting and the price always changes. if I get a new set and gel toes it's understandable but if I'm getting a fill in why am I paying the same amount for a new set ???? the last time I attempted to go to LILY she scheduled me via text I get to the shop she says she over booked and can I came tomorrow this happened twice. I said someone else could service me since I need my nails done ASAP. she assigned me so someone else who refused me service because I asked her was she confident in doing a simple French manicure instead of the design I requested with lily.. I guess she didn't want me to ask questions since I was being charged $120. lastly, I find it very strange how your nails are always lifting and popping off as soon as you reach that two week mark. I have never been treated like this at a nail salon like this before EVER! I went in to this nail salon yesterday around 6:50pm, I wasn't aware they closed at 8pm until I looked once i sat down. I was asked for my services apon walking in, (which is always expected) i told them full set and pedicure, they told me to sit in a pedicure chair. All of which is expected when you go into a nail salon. 20 mins go by, i'm looking at my colors, waiting my turn patiently. 30mins go by still haven't been serviced, i wasn't even asked anything about my services or told how long the wait was going to be, or that they are even about to close. NOBODY SAID ANYTHING, i was in that nail salon for a whole hour and nobody serviced me, nobody spoke to me until after they saw me putting my shoes on!! this is THE WORST EXPERIENCE i've ever had, im not exaggerating when i say this. It was a complete waste of time, if i was told prior about the wait or even when i sat down i could've planned accordingly. EXCEPT I WAS IGNORED THE WHOLE TIME. just trash and disgusting services!!!!!! read more

This has been the neighborhood nail salon for about 10 years. I got my first full set here for my 16th Birthday haha. I absolutely love this place. Kim is the manager and she always does a GREAT job. There was a really sweet girl names Kaylee who used to work here, but she moved back to Korea in the Fall of 2017 :( Helen does my nails and pedicures now. She is THE absolute sweetest. I come maybe once a month for pedicures and get my nails done every once a while as I taught myself how to do gel manicures (bought the kit from Target for $30). Since I've been coming here, the wait has always been the inconvenience. I will never suggest coming here anytime after 4:30 PM on a Friday or between the hours of 11-2PM on Saturday as the wait time is just insane. Call ahead of time. It's a little better if you a regular as they recognize your face and or name, and will try to make sure you're seen as soon as possible (not really the fairest... but, meh). Lily has been my nail tech for 5 years now, she is the best with nails. I make sure to make an appointment every 2 weeks with her and she is most of the time on time (even though I'm late sometimes) but when she is late she always gives me a reasonable discount. Her pricing is also reasonable, she lets me know how much each design I do cost before she does my nails. As you can see in my picture she does an AMAZING job, so I recommend to go to lily for your nails!!! read more

They did not clean the station before use, which was a sanitary concern. And depending on the person does your nails they may surcharge you erroneous fees. And be careful because the staff may swindle you. Highly recommend checking out the other salon near by. Negative customer service and practice over all, and I'm not usually one to be moved to write a negative review. read more

I been going to this nail shop for 4 years my nail tech was Lily. Lily didn't have many clients but of course I'm that person who will pour into your business and refer my family and friends. For the last 4 months she has been overbooking and been rushing me and making every excuses possible. My final line in the sand was yesterday when I request my usual appointment last week and she send her availability I chose 12:30 on Tuesday. I walked in the shop she was like why are you here I'm confused cause I selected it on Saturday. She then asked me if someone else do my toes I said yes. She then asked me to send her the design that was usually do so I resend a design I sent her 2 weeks ago. She made another excuse why she couldn't do the design I need more time to do this design. So I'm so mad at this time but I really do need my nails done I being rushed once again. I couldn't do this to myself NO MORE cause it's convenient to get there in 10 minutes. This is my go to nail salon! I haven't found anyone in DC that does my nails better than Denny (the owner) and his wife, Kim! I am from Chicago and I even prefer to get my nails done here than go to my usual nail tech back home. Denny and his wife take their time. I am VERY particular but I never feel rushed and I'm never unhappy with their work. As with most places, there are hit or miss times with other folks. Aside from the owner and his wife, Tina is great too. There's also a shorter, thicker woman who wears glasses that does great work. Mostly everyone in the nail salon does a great pedi but you will want to get those I mentioned for your hands. Sunday's are usually the best time to go, or Mondays. Denny is out Monday and Wednesday; his wife is out M-W. Also, the more you frequent the shop, the better perks you get. They will usually take me no matter close they are to closing (tho I try not to be one of those ppl that come in right before, but sometimes you have a nail emergency) and I get discounts! NEVER AGAIN! Walked in and they refused to service me. I came for a fill in and pedi. I only allow Mimi or Stephanie to do my nails in the past. The one girl who mainly does pedicures asked me if I wanted her to do mine and I asked how long it would be for Stephanie. There were only 3 women in the shop and everyone claimed they were busy. Once I agreed to let the other girl do my pedicure all of a sudden she had a client that never showed. I brought the matter to the attention of Stephani and Mimi both refused to address the situation. Another woman who witnessed the incident concluded that they didn't want to service me, I agreed and left. I have gotten my nails done here for years but today was the very last day. I have been coming to this shop for a very long time. Before, I would kind of just go to any chair because I was only in DC for my summer breaks during college and grad school. Now since I have finished school and moved back to DC permanently, I only go to Kim (or Lily when Kim is on vacation). Kim is part owner of the salon, with her husband, and has amazing customer service. She takes her time when painting nails and do not charge anything extra for small details. I really enjoy her as my nail technician, but also as a person. She is truly a wonderful person. Kim recommended Lily to do my nails when she is out of town. Lily is pretty new and fits in great with the shop. She likes to learn names and ask about your day. I really enjoy having conversations with her. read more

I have tried this place twice. It is cleaner than nails etc two doors down. The first time I had a manicure worse than something I could have done myself (and I am terrible at painting my nails, which is why I pay for good service), and the second time, I gave the more seasoned manicurist a chance. The second manicurist cut my cuticle and nail bed so deep that within a week, I had to seek out a doctor to help with the toe pain (which came from my toe nail growing into my foot, this has never happened in 15+ years of regular pedicures). Keep your money in your pocket...better yet, take your money up the street about 3/4 doors and head over to Nails Ect. I came here to get my nails removed because they began to lift around the edges , as they do from time to time, and they were snagging on everything. I explicitly asked to have my nails soaked off numerous times! The lady (couldn't remember her name) told me that it would hurt because the name was still securely attached to my nail bed. I explained to her that it shouldn't hurt, because I want them soaked off. The lady then takes my hand to look at my nails and she begins to slide a fake nail between my nail bed and my acrylic. She moved so quickly and took a chunk of my nail bed off with my acrylic nail. My nail began to bleed profusely and She apologized. I asked for a napkin or something to stop the bleeding...and she points me in the direction of the sink. SO I HAVE TO GET UP and get a paper towel for my bleeding nail bed. Then she tries to charge me for taking off the gel polish that was on top of the acrylic nail???!!! Another nail tech told me to come back later in the week and she would fix my nails for free.
