It'd been 2 weeks, a wedding, thousands of miles and a transatlantic move...
I needed a manicure. A great one. And today. My spirit depended on it.
I quickly popped open my Yelp app in the area in which I am staying and found Nail Station in Marylebone. What sealed the beauty deal for me? A 5£ discount check-in offer for first time customers. Sold, I headed right over. It's a beautiful shop, well appointed. Nice finishes. Very clean and sanitary.
First, if you are reading this...you should probably make an appointment. Especially on a weekend. They have many Marylebone regulars that book up their weekends. Luckily the beauty demi-gods were on my side this day and there had been a cancellation and they fit me right in.
They have a full line of beautiful essie polishes. I'm currently rocking "Headmistress," and loving it. A deep, rich red to match this quickly-turning-to-chilly weather. They also do gel manicures as well, 56£.
The girls are all very friendly and speak perfect english. There was a bit of confusion about the check-in offer redemption (apparently I was the first one to use it! Girls, get on it, check this place out!), but it was sorted quickly. It still made me a wee bit uncomfortable. I'm actually not one to overdo it on the deals, but it was the reason I decided to come in the first place so I figured it was appropriate to redeem it.
Regular manicure = 30£, saved 5...so out the door with beautifully groomed hands for a mere 25£. Coming from NYC, the land of the $7 manicure this makes me itch just a bit, but I suppose I am adjusting to life (and prices) in London! Still, I do believe this is on the higher end based on others I've researched. You get what you pay for. It's extremely clean, they girls are very professional, it is pampering at its finest and if you're lucky you'll catch some old lady gossip while you wait.
