Someone named Natasha replied yes, but I would need 40 minutes. No problem. Appointment made. I arrived at 6 minutes past the hour because they neglected to tell me they were inside Debenham's, and it took a couple minutes to find them once finally inside. After the person who answered spent another four minutes helping another customer, she finally returned and told me I had been 10 minutes late and they would have to curl my hair dry, as they no longer had time to shampoo and blow dry it first, else her and her colleague would both be late for their next appointments. I've never heard of shampoo and blow dry taking 10 minutes, and the reasoning for insisting they could only provide a different service from the one I had requested was dubious at best. But I was already there, so I said okay, which is probably what they were counting on. Ended up paying 30 pounds just to get my hair badly curled, with no effort made to blend the weave in with my natural hair. Total waste of money - the shampoo and blow dry steps are the value add. I can curl my hair myself, and much better at that. And by the time I was leaving, there was one more customer but two hair dressers, one of whom was now idle. They could totally have honored my initial appointment. Never coming back here again.

I live very close to here and have been to Pollen Street Social a few times. I made an appointment the week before and decided to give it a try. My hair was so long, heavy and I have a lot of hair. The last cut I got wasn't great and this time I brought in photos and explained what I wanted, relaying that my hair was heavy. Sakae (pronounced like saw-Kay) was my hair dresser, he was so awesome. They do a wash and then cut, then they dry and dry cut the hair. Since I have so much hair I mentioned I didn't like how it was laying, he seemed to completely understand. My end product was amazing. He was amazing, very nice. The salon is a Japanese salon, so a lot of speaking in Japanese but it never bothered me. They were so nice and I am looking forward to going back. I would like to get my hair colored there as well, that will be the next try. I have been to a lot of hair salons, in San Diego and San Francisco and this was probably one of my top 2 favorite experiences and outcomes ever! Thank you!

It seems SNS is new to them and the process wasn't the usual (admittedly I live in NYC so this may be different). Regardless, I am now less than a week in and two of my nails have chipped and because of this the actual nail is broken. This is very disappointing as I did them specifically to last me for a holiday I was going on the next day. I don't know what standard gel procedures are like (perhaps they are better) but I wouldn't recommended SNS and won't be returning.

I had the best manicure of my life at the OPI Nail Bar, located in Selfridges. I didn't have an…read moreappointment but they managed to squeeze me in before I had to leave on a flight, which was very nice of them. My nails really stood the test over the course of two weeks: briney salt water in Barcelona and Valencia, partying hardy in Ibiza, and lugging/packing/unpacking/re-packing a 32 kg suitcase (I like to shop, sue me!). The amazing part is that my nails did not chip or break. They were in pristine condition after all of this. It was pricey though, I wasn't expecting to pay $50 for a manicure but I was desperate and it was worth it. The Nail Bar has all of the new OPI colors available both to use for your manicure and for purchase. You even get to pick out which lotion you want to use...that hand massage was heaven! The technicians take their time and are in no hurry to rush you out (even though the space is tiny, especially if you already have shopping bags). My only complaint is that because the nail bar is located in the women's street wear section of Selfridges (where all of the Oasis, All Saints, Miss Sixty stuff is), that I was subject to La Roux/ Sugababes/ David Guetta blasting for 45 minutes.
