I would leave a zero star review if I could. My daughter went to get her nails done, and the nail tech waited until she was halfway through the service to tell her she could not do the design she wanted because she didn't have an air brush. When my daughter asked if they could do a different color then (because she didn't want just neon pink nails) the technician grabbed some white polish and started painting hearts on her nails. My daughter said she didn't want hearts, and if she couldn't do the design that she had wanted, she would rather just do a different solid color. The technician insisted that *she* liked the color and refused to change it. When they were finished, not only were they nothing like what she had asked for, but the nails were uneven and very poorly done. In some parts the gel polish was super thick, and in other parts it was so thin that it was transparent. Also, this woman has absolutely butchered my daughters cuticles. My daughter expressed that she was unhappy with the nails and the technician didn't care, they just made her pay and leave unhappy. After this, my daughter called me and I went back in with her requesting a refund, even suggesting they remove the nails, and was told multiple times that they don't do refunds. Eventually I was able to speak with a manager and he said that they could remove the nails and give us a refund. This was fine, as that is what I had suggested in the first place. The woman who did my daughter's nails was then extremely aggressive cutting them down, and then just left her soaking in a bowl of acetone for 20 minutes which did nearly nothing. I asked the manager if they could properly remove the nails, and was told that the only way to get them off was to soak them, which was obviously not true. We ended up just taking our refund and leaving, as at that point I honestly did not trust them to properly remove the nails. My daughter left with her nails and cuticles looking absolutely awful, and had to pay to have them properly removed at a different nail salon. It is worth mentioning that my daughter's friend went with her and also got her nails done, just a fill and design, and hers were also awful. She also requested a refund, and the technician clipped off her tips (that they didn't even put on) along with her natural nail underneath, and left her sitting in a bowl of acetone as well. Both girls left with their nails in horrible condition. The staff very obviously only care about moving as quickly as possible, and couldn't care less about the quality of their work. I have been going to Nail Trix at Stroud Mall for years, and after having moved north, I went to Nail Trix at Johnson City. It was the worst pedicure I ever had. Toenails not well trimmed, and polish stayed on the two big toes and peeled off the other eight toes in one sheet. I went back in the other day and complained and showed them my toes, and was advised they only guarantee the work for THREE days. She then asked if I wanted a pedicure and I said not if I have to pay for it and she said yes. I told her they had seen the last of me and I would never go back. What a rip off. read more

My fiancé would like to leave a review for this place since I didn't get my nails done nor my toes so here are her thoughts......... I want to get my nails done because I'm having engagement photos done this Saturday. if I could leave less than one star, I would. upon arrival at the store I was greeted however, they argued about who was going to take me in who do my full set. Then the poor lady sitting next to me head was speaking Spanish, and they couldn't understand a word she was saying I felt so bad because the lady on the other end trying to do her nails with screaming at her saying I'm not doing your nails anymore. This is what you get don't ever come back, then when I tried to tell the guy my color he went with the opposite color that I originally wanted and didn't do anything more than just color my nails I wanted a white tip done on my nails like a French manicure with a blue nail accent, what I got was all robins egg, blue nails, not what I originally wanted at the beginning of my appointment I'm not trying to sound rude. However, I will never be going back to the salon not only was the customer care toward other customers bad my nails turned out like crap. read more

Kay did an amazing job! I was a little nervous because I had never been there before but everyone was kind and Kay did an amazing job on the design I asked for. I even left my bracelet on accident and the owner (who also did my fill) saw it and ran it out to me! I will definitely be back. My friend who went with me had an amazing experience and her nails look amazing as well! The only thing I'm a little upset about it my cuticles weren't touched at all but I also think you have to ask them to because there's a chance of bleeding and such and I didn't ask so I cannot complain. read more

First, the good news, the man who did my mani/pedi was pleasant and did a decent job. Now for the bad news...the place was filthy for starters. There was dirt caked in several places on each station The plexiglas barriers were spotted, dusty ,and stained. I can't imagine when the last time was they were cleaned or even wiped down. The man who did my mani/pedi had dirt embedded under HIS fingernails and had a bandaid on the middle finger of each hand. There was visible redness and irritation below the bandaids. The woman who checked me in and directed me to the station where the manicuring was done, sat down in a chair at the station next to me, slouched in her seat, took her sandals off, leaned back, and stuffed both of her feet in the slot where customers place a hand to have gel nails dry!! She proceeded to watch videos on her phone while eating fruit on a plate covered with a napkin. Meanwhile, as stated before, there was dirt and dust. The lamp on her table had a smiley face imprinted in the dust. I couldn't help but think that she should've been spending her time cleaning. During the pedicure, the man started sneezing and coughing. He wiped his nose on the back of his arm while he was working on me. I will never go to Nail Trix again and, also, will discourage anyone I know from going there. read more

If I were able to give no stars I would have. Myself and my kid were told 5 minute wait for 2 manicures. I was taken in after 5 minutes and then they proceeded to help 3 people that came in AFTER my kid . Likely because they are a kid. Unacceptable. I let them them no that we were there long before the other people more than once. I was finished and my kid was another hour because the girl that finally started their nails kept getting up and going in back and waiting on others. Ridiculous. We sign in so they take people in order and then don't bother. Never again. read more

I would put 0 starts but I can't. The lady almost chopped my finger and then she said it was my fault. The sign outside is misleading, it say $25 for the new set and $15 for refill, I had 3 nails broken and I supposed they would charge me as a new set because of that, they ended up charging me $40, because according to them it is both a new set and a refill. I asked for a french tip and she did it on half of my nail, a child could do better than this. I just asked her to take it off nicely since it was so bad and she did it rudely and my nails were ruined. She then charged me $40 to leave the salon with nothing on my fingers. Honestly, screw this place. I used to come here to get acrylics and never again I'll I step foot in this abomination. My pointer finger nail is always crooked and that's not even the worst of it. I sat here and watched an African American woman come in to ask how long the wait was to get a manicure, to which one of the workers said two hours. So she left. Then, a Caucasian female came in and asked the same question maybe 2 minutes later to which she was told there was no wait. Racism! Abomination! Don't go here!!!!!!! AWFUL....FOOLS!!!! Came in early August of 2014. I wouldn't give this place one star but apparently I had too. Came into town to visit family and we had to go to the mall for something so I figured I would stop in for a gel manicure. First of all I should have known when the guy said pick a color from the wall....They have no clue what they are doing! This fool puts regular nail polish under the shellac to set it...needless to say it cracked within a few hours of leaving the place!! Not to mention when he pained my nails it was so thick it was starting to bubble and it looked like a blind 5 year old polished my nails...I started to complain and the owner took over . She took off my gell/regular nail polish combo that this fool put on and started the process over...I tried to tell her I want the gel polish and looked at me with confused eyes...I told her she couldn't just use regular polish polish and she said yes my stuff is good!! Needless to say I don't think there is a bottle of OPI in the salon some other crap nail polish they have on their wall of colors. Anyways so I walk out of there almost 2 hours later and my nails cracked within hours that night. So my trip to NY , I had to deal with cracked nail polish because I refused to spend another 30 bucks at another salon...I didn't want to take my chances!!! I am very disappointed with the service I got here. I went in for a refill on my acrylics and they said a 10 minute wait which I was fine with, except I had to wait 25 and they had me take off my own polish. Then when I did see a nail tech (Man), I asked him to put some glitter at the bottom of my nails. They look like a 4 year old did them. Man was on his phone the whole time he was doing my nails. For the prices they charge they should focus more on their customers. I will not be going back, and recommend you don't go there either. read more

i wish i could give this 0 stars. i went for a fill, and the finished product looks terrible. these are my prom nails, and they look uneven and the paint job is awful. i'm so upset but tipped anyways.. never going here again. i asked for a different color for the middle and ring finger and they complained so i just kept it. definitely going to get them repainted at a different place! read more

I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone. After reading the reviews I wasn't too convinced but I figured I would give it a try since it was a lot closer than other salons. They were quick to get me into a chair, which I appreciated but had me sitting in the chair while employees were on their phone, which I found quite rude. I came in for a fill in and the normal salon I go to trim my cuticles and massage my hands while in here they didn't even ask and got straight into filing. She filed my nails way too much and after asked whether the length was fine but it was already too short. Overall the experience was not the best, the employees are not friendly what's so ever. This was the worst nail salon I've ever been to. First, they put a false nail in when I didn't want one. Then, they didn't do proper nail prep, they skipped so many important steps for healthy nails with acrylic on them. They did an awful job, over filing and using barely any acrylic. There are many mistakes in the nails and they look awful. Getting them done was a cold impersonal experience, they seemed to want it to go quickly and efficiently which I believe led to such poor quality nails. I went to their salon on Saturday jan 20th. I had a full set put on. It took him not even 20mins. He skipped so many steps. There was acrylic stuck under my nails. The tips were glued to my skin. There was arylic missing on the sides of my nails. The paint was messed up and not straight. I was so upset i asked to have them redone and when the store supervisor came to "fix" them she didnt clean under and wouldn't fix the missing spots of acrylic. When i asked if she was going to fix it she said it was fine. I then stated i wanted my money back since they were still messed up she them "removed" them by cutting them horrible and they were jagged and sharp. I had to go to another salon and spend more money to have them correctly removed and a new full set put on correctly read more

My first time as a walk-in for Gel Mani and I had an older guy who looked dirty & messy but I sat down and gave it a chance. I usually go to Tommy's in Binghamton but I was in a hurry and the Oakdale mall is closer. He had headphones in and didn't speak to me, the manicure sucked in every way. He pretended to cut my cuticles there wasn't anything he cut then he filed my nails and left them rough to the point where I had to fix them when I got home because they were sooo rough. He didn't show me any swatches for color but pointed to a wall for me to open the bottles and look at the colors individually which was really time consuming. The polish is uneven sloppy & all over my fingers. Within hours I had one start peeling off!! For $30.00 what a rip-off never going again. Maybe the girls are better if you know which one to choose but I'd rather drive down to Tommy's and get anyone over there to do a great job!! read more

One star is generous. I went in to get a refill, which was my first mistake. I have been getting my nails refilled every month since 2014 and I have never had a worse experience. My nail technician skipped about 75% of the steps that come with getting a refill. Also, she applied the thinnest layer of acrylic, if I did not see her put acrylic on I wouldn't have even known I had it on. My nails chipped by that night, acrylic included. Also, my nails are not even connected to the acrylic, they are lifted, so my nails continually just keep chipping off. As my nail technician was using the file drill she did it for so long and hard that she drilled through my nail and onto my skin, leaving a hole in the middle of my nail that is exposed skin (very painful). Finally, it was not a friendly environment to say the least. Waste of my money. read more
