Review written by my wife: Sorry it's long, but relevant. I came in last week for a combination acrylic and gel French manicure. I've had it done other places, but they looked at me like I was crazy for asking. You're supposed to thin out the acrylic a little more so that when u out the gel on, it's not too thick. They didn't. So my nails turned out to be so thick I can barely use them. Not to mention, he used the wrong tips (too small) so there were these huge gaps in between my nail and the tip. Totally open to dirt and bacteria and even mold to get in. I pointed it out and he just filled it with nail glue, but did not even do a good job at that. I was very frustrated. Their door said they were open til 8, so after my manicure I asked for a polish change on my toes (French manicure style to match my hands) and they said "come back tomorrow, we're closed." It was only 7. I said I was going on vacation to New Orleans and leaving at 2am, so I couldn't come back tomorrow, so I asked if they knew of any other salon still open. He said "fine I do your toes." He went so quick and hurried, they look awful. I left frustrated, and if I hadn't been going on vacation, I would've gone back the next day for a fix. One week away in NOLA, my nails were filled with gunk. I obviously showered every day, and I washed my hands and nails WITH A TOOTHBRUSH multiple times a day and the "gunk" still wouldn't come out!! It was disgusting. So I went back to get them fixed when I got home, and all he did was file them and put more nail glue in them!! I asked for new tips, and he said "come back in week, we file and add more glue." So now, they're even THICKER, filled with glue, and still dirty! Perfectly polished nails every time! I only go for a polish change, usually toes, always as a walk-in. They are fast, efficient, clean, and my wait time is next to nill. $10 and the polish (not gel) lasts and lasts with no chipping! read more

Great service. Very sanitary and they give each customer their own set of files that you can bring in every visit thereafter to ensure it only gets used on you. I have yet to have been serviced by them all, but I had Kyle and he did awesome! I got a shellac mani and pedi for around $60. I nearly fell asleep in the pedi chair. :) While I was there, a customer came in to fix a nail and went to pay, ended up getting it free which means they stand behind their work. They also have a UV implement and tool sanitizer in plain view that they use. That was reassuring to me as a customer to see that. All staff was friendly to me. I recommend scheduling an appointment if you can because they can get slammed with customers very fast. With the weather warming up, it's going to get busier. I'm definitely going back. read more

I love this nail salon. After moving from Seattle to Corvallis I wasn't sure I would find a good nail salon. I tried a few before hearing about Nails and Spa and thank goodness I took the recommendation and booked an appointment. The staff are great and so is their work. Check them out! Needed a pedi while on vacation and ended up here. The store is very clean and very nicely decorated. They really pride themselves on cleanliness and hygiene. They give you your own bag of pedi tools. The chairs were great, the employees were nice and did a great job, the prices are good to. I would go here regularly if I lived there. read more

Wow! What a surprise, the least expensive pedicure in Corvallis, turns out to be the best! I got a same day appointment, arrived on time, waited an unheard of 5 min! The polish selection is incredible, I had a hard time deciding. My technician was friendly, took his time and did an amazing job. Used to come here for acrylics. Started going to another salon for SNS Dipping Powder, but recently haven't been pleased with their work. Started calling around to see what salons do the SNS and discovered that my old salon did them. Couldn't be happier. Basically was a walk in and was done within the hour - other salon would have taken at least an hour and a half, and then the cost was ten dollars less! I'm from out of town, called first thing in the morning to make a appointment, I specifically asked if they took check as I didn't have my debit card...The gentleman on the phone told me yes. After a two hour nail appointment and continually having to repaint my nails do that his mess ups, I finish and go to pay for him to tell me he doesn't take check. After a long discussion he threatens to call the cops on me even after offering to bring him back cash. Not only was I treated with complete disrespect, but my nails are absolutely awful. After this embarrassing episode I would not recommend this place to anyone! read more

I won't go anywhere else! I get pedicures done here and I have always loved their work! My pedicure lasts for weeks. They do the cutest nail designs and don't charge and arm and a leg for them. read more

I've been to this place before and they've done an okay job. I made an appointment five days prior and when I went in they told me they had my name nowhere and the wait was over an hour. If you make an appointment at a place they should not over book you. Went in for a gel manicure and was incredibly disappointed. The price was great, but that was the only thing that was positive. The guy who did my nails ripped off my previous shellac, and when I asked him to remove them in a less painful way he proceeded to sand them off which ruined my nail beds. One of my cuticles was bleeding for a full hour after. In terms of the actual polish they use, its incredibly cheap and they don't use a base coat. It came off the next day. -_- read more

Nail looks nice and I am a fan of the work she did but I did have to go back and have my acrylics repainted an hour later due to the color not being put on thick enough the first time (only two thin coats). My cuticles are now very sore six hours later due to her rough handling with the Dremel. I do like them but she seemed rushed. I will be going back for a fill in the hopes that today was just a busy day. read more

Don't bother scheduling an appointment. They take walk ins even though short staffed and make you sit and wait endlessly. They then complain about how busy they are... not relaxing at all. read more

A nail salon is typically relaxing, but it was not relaxing for us as we wondered what sort of bug this woman was spreading. Worst customer service ive ever experienced. The lady that looks like she runs it is horrible. She was rude to me the first time i went for acrylics but i decided to give them a second chance. I called to see if they do eyebrow waxing she said yes and hung up on me. I walked over there walked in and she asked the girls after me how she could help them. I stood there waiting for a few minutes and finally she acknowledged me. I asked to get an eyebrow wax, all she said was "shes too busy" and turned to help someone else. No apology, no time frame to come back just ignored me. I understand when businesses are busy. They usually ask me to come back at a certain time and i have no problem with that but to just disregard my business is absurd. So rude and rest assured i will never go again or refer anyone to them. I spent a long time searching for a good nail place around the Salem area, since I am not from here, and I stumbled upon this one, which seemed like a great nail place. I have been growing out my nails for the past 3 months and only get shellac. I only wanted to get a shellac manicure. First of all the guy did not shape my nails evenly, and my cuticles did not look good. He ended up getting polish on my fingers, and the edges were sloppy. And to top it off he only applied two coats of the polish so you can still see my nail. It has now been a week from the time I got them done and two nails have already chipped and one broke. I have relatively thin nails and the reason I get shellac is because its thick enough to let my nails grow without them constantly chipping. I was disappointed with the quality. read more

I asked that the dremel not be used on my natural nail, as I already had an injury to my nail bed from a prior experience. He insisted on using it anyhow, which was incredibly painful for me. He didn't bother to truly prep my nails for the acrylics (ie.. Pushing back cuticles for longevity of wear, cleaning the nail beds before affixing tips) and used tips too narrow for the width of my nail beds. I now have an expensive set of nails, that I had to refile into the shape I ACTUALLY wanted, as there seemed to be some communication problems with that. The worst part of my nails is the ring finger on my left hand and the middle finger on my right hand curve up, instead of going straight out from the nail bed, so it looks as though they are lifting. I went to cosmetology school, so I KNOW how they are supposed to be done. This was horribly disappointing. For $40, I feel like this was worse than if I let a student do it. I will NEVER go back here. I highly recommend avoiding this place!!! read more

One of the worst experiences ever. I had an appointment and needed a mani (full set) and pedi before going to a very important networking conference. The pedicure was okay, however, the manicure was one of the worst I have ever received. While I was still sitting in the pedicure chair, a lady, who was quite pushy and rude, came over to start my manicure. My nails were minimally prepped and while one person was finishing my feet (which she still hadn't painted), I had the other lady gluing tips onto my nails. It was like being yanked in two different directions at the same time. Most of the tips were either crooked or did not even cover the entire bed of the nail. When I went over to the table for the manicure, which should have taken a good 45 minutes to do properly, she put minimal acrylic on them, did not cut my cuticles, did not prep my nails and she used the wrong top coat on them. It has barely been a week and the acrylic is already coming up on the edges of the nails. The acrylic that actually covered the nails is very thin, a thin coating is the only thing covering the french tips. During this process, the lady ducked down under the nail desk and had to paint my toes. The process was rushed, unprofessional, and the staff was rude. In addition to this the bill was 62$!!! There are plenty of nail places in Corvallis, I would recommend any of the other ones! If you do go, have one of the men do it, they are much better than ALL of the women they have working! read more
