Not even 2 weeks after getting a full set of gel extensions, three nails fell off. I was going to write a reivew about the lack of cleanliness this salon has, but then the nails just started coming off one by one which obviously has only fueled my dissapointment. The salon has some very talented nail artists, but it doesn't matter when the conditions are so unsanitary. My girl used someone else's dirty towel and there was nail dust all over it. I wanted throw up the whole time I was there. Really unfortunate.

I'm absolutely in love with my nails! Lily (one of the owners) truly exceeded my expectations,…read moreevery-time. Been going here for years now and every time I have an appointment I always look forward to it and very excited. From the moment I sat down, she was so warm, professional, and detail-oriented. She took her time to understand exactly what I wanted and executed it flawlessly. The shape is perfect, the ombré blend is so smooth and clean, and the finish is super glossy and elegant. I've gotten so many compliments already! You can really tell she takes pride in her work -- nothing felt rushed, and every detail was carefully done. Not only is her work beautiful, but their new location was super spacious, clean, hygienic, and comfortable, which is so important to me. She's incredibly talented and consistent! If you're looking for a nail tech who delivers high-quality, stunning results every single time -- she's the one. Or any one at this salon I Highly, highly recommend!

I paid $75 for my manicure ($25 manicure, $45 gel french tip, $5 nail fix) and my pedicure was $37 for a basic. The new salon is brand new and everything is very clean. Ruby did my pedicure and Alex did my manicure. They were extremely busy while we were there but it seemed like it ran really smoothly. Everyone was pleasant enough but not much talking and it did feel a little rushed at times but also understanding that they were trying to accommodate all 4 of us on short notice. Ruby cut slightly too deep into the side of my left big toe and she apologized but it was very noticeable swollen and painful the next day compared to my other toe so that's not ideal. She was very meticulous with the polish application though! Alex did a great job with my deep french manicure. He was very quick and efficient with putting on an acrylic tip onto my thumb that was shorter than the rest of my nails. He was careful to not have the gel touch my skin and seemed to be the go-to for frenchies. The girl working the front desk didn't seem to be in a good mood. I don't usually mind but she was very short with her responses and not particularly nice or helpful when I asked a few questions regarding the pricing and point system. There is plenty of street parking available and it was easy to find. They're very popular so expect to be a slight wait and it's definitely a more sterile and clinically run salon than a welcoming one. I didn't see anyone with a walk-in so I would always recommend making an appointment!

The mutated nail is managed by monthly pedicure appointments, meaning highly experienced nail techs. The Beauty Bar was the 3rd nail salon I tried out and I haven't had to go anywhere else. I've been coming for the last 3 months and continue to be very happy with the service and results. Not only is my pincer nail always treated and trimmed carefully and expertly, the pedicures are well done and last for over 4 weeks (just using regular polish, not gel). I haven't tried the Japanese gel manicure yet, but I'm waiting for a special occasion to make the splurge. There's only a couple of downsides: 1) the prices are very high and 2) the massages are too soft. For example, I've paid $4 or $5 for callous removal at other salons, but they charge $10 here. Otherwise, I have no other complaints. I love the ease of the online booking system. The salon is clean and has a very chill vibe.

However, they only did a pedicure on me and a manicure on my mom. They never acknowledged the manicure I booked in advance. When we tried to explain that my appointment was for a manicure AND a pedicure I was told to come back some other time for the manicure. I don't think it's right to only be given half of the service you requested via an appointment. Most of the customers were getting manicures and pedicures done simultaneously. During my pedicure there were times when some of the techs were free and they even took walk-ins. I'm genuinely not sure how everyone was able to book manicures and pedicures. After a hectic Wednesday workday, I was desperately looking forward to my appt I had booked for myself and my bestie last week. A gel pedicure w/ an add-on foot massage easily relaxed my aching feet and calmed my busy mind for what felt like too quick of an hour. Pedicures do not include your typical salon package of exfoliating scrubs and the like. But you can ($) add on calluses removal or a (quick) massage to the service. . The classic industrial Ward interior of a high ceiling and open space concept meant - great ventilation! It didn't smell of ammonia or nail polish at all. Our technicians were very pleasant, very helpful, and didn't judge or stop me from scarfing down my very late lunch on the salon chair - tg! . I'll be back to try their massage services (: cheers

About a year ago, I decided to trim my own hair. Let's just say... it didn't go well. The haircut was so bad that I lived with it for an entire year before finally deciding it was time to let a professional fix it. The funniest part? I even took that haircut with me on a trip to New York City... and believe it or not, no one in New York City even sneered! Teeheehee I honestly think providence brought me here. On my way to Ala Moana Center, I happened to notice Lily's Hair Salon and thought, "That's interesting. I've never noticed that place before." Just before that, I had called Macy's to make an appointment at their salon. The phone rang, but then a recording said the number was no longer in service. Since I just couldn't believe it, I went looking for the salon anyway and discovered it had actually closed during the pandemic. That discovery sure earned a surprised panda face! So, believe it or not, I made my way back to Lily's. When I first walked in, the woman at the front desk told me their hairstylist was busy and suggested I try the salon upstairs. I did, only to find they were closed. I came back downstairs and told her I didn't mind waiting about 20 minutes. While I waited, I happily took advantage of their massage chair. After physical therapy, that massage chair felt wonderful. Before long, Min Hee was ready for me. What I appreciated most was that she listened. The first thing she did after I sat down was start with an assessment and ask me what I wanted trimmed. She never once tried to convince me to cut my hair much shorter than I was comfortable with. I showed her how I like to clip my hair up while still having enough length for a little dangling ponytail, and we agreed to preserve that length while cleaning up the overall shape. She then trimmed the ends to the length I wanted, washed my hair, took another careful look at it, cut the rest, and finished with a blow dry so she could see exactly how it naturally lies. I look like Jules Y. again! LOL Now I have bangs again, my haircut is even and balanced, and my hair finally looks polished instead of like the DIY haircut I'd been trying to live with for the past year. My hair frames my face much more naturally now, the ends are clean and even, and everything blends together the way I like it. My haircut was $65. There is a $2 fee if you pay by credit card. Parking was easy, with six free stalls right in front of the salon. The salon itself isn't fancy, but it's clean, comfortable, and more than good enough. As you face the inside of the salon, the restroom is on the left in the back, where you'll also find complimentary water and snacks. Min Hee is the salon's full-time hairstylist and also provides nail services. There are two additional hairstylists who work part-time on their own schedules. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant, courteous, and genuinely helpful. They all seem to know who their customers are, so you won't get asked, "Why are you wanting to use our restroom?" That may sound like a small thing, but it contributes to the welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Thank you, Min Hee, for giving me such a great haircut and a wonderful experience. I'm very happy to have found your salon on the very day I decided it was finally time to have my hair professionally cut.

I waited 20+ mins after arriving and I had an appointment. When I got there, I was told I needed to wait 5 mins. I got there, sat on their sad/low couch in the front. Then I got moved to the pedi section, waited awhile--and the receptionist came out and told me I just needed to wait 5 mins. I ended up waiting longer than that. I asked for a regular spa pedicure and regular classic mani. I just was able to get out of there now. I think for the price, quality and the time, don't go here. I just inspected my nails in my car, and I still have crud and crap under neath them. For a spa pedi, there seemed like a 30 second massage (very short). No hot towel treatment or hand massage at all. While sitting in the front getting my pedi done, I noticed a lot of travelers. I have now learned my lesson to not come back and stick to the places I know because I think I expected same/equal quality for the price... I'm feeling a bit let down. This whole experience for such a regular service took almost 2 hours of my time... when it should take half that time. It's a huge time wasted when I pay a nanny to watch my kids while I work -- and I thought I could take an hour of my day to at least treat myself this Friday. Seek to get your nails done elsewhere. What a huge disappointment.

I looked for a nail salon located close to the UH Manoa campus and came upon Nail Story. Nail Story had great reviews on Yelp and I liked that I could make an appointment online. The prices of the services was also available when you make your appointment. We arrived a little before 5pm and had to wait awhile before a parking spot opened up in the lot. My daughter showed her technician the design and she was quoted an additional amount of $46. The technician then went to work and when it was time to do the design, there was a lot of back and forth as the technician had not done a sunrise shell design before. My daughter wanted it just right and asked her to redo it several times. I was surprised her technician didn't take offense, but also happy that my daughter was making sure she was getting what she wanted. The technician was great and stayed patient as she tried to replicate the design as best as she could. Finally, after what seemed like the fifth time, my daughter gave a big smile of approval. Thank goodness! | was getting hungry! My daughter loves her nails and I also had a great experience with my pedicure.
