To start, when me and my cousin contacted them before our arrival about the price, they ignored our messages when we asked if we could get designs for around $30. When we arrived we asked if they got the pictures we sent but still wouldn't tell us the price, pretty strange. Now as I'm starting to get my henna done, I ask for the price. The lady said $40, out of our budget but we were already there so I decided to just give them a try. As I'm getting my henna done, I try to trust the process but the lady continues to NOT follow the picture. Once it got to the flower by my thumb I told her to stop because it was just getting bad. I asked "how much is it now since I didn't get the full hand done" she said it's going to be $30. I said $30? This lady said yea because the extra ten would've been the hand area. There is no way that this henna I got is worth 30 dollars. The lady's skill level is no where NEAR professional, just wasted my money and got a HORRIBLE design. Went to Nailz and Beyond today and it was a great experience! I got the Pedicure and Manicure combo, sugar scrub, wax EVERYTHING! Essince was the best!!! I hadn't even made it to the nail salon and already had a bad experience. Despite being referred to other places, I really wanted to give this place a chance. I booked an appointment online for 8am. And then I'm told that they open at 10. Why would you have availability from 8am-10am then? False advertisement. And then I was given the option to book with Troi. And I DM to confirm my appointment. Well..... I wasn't gonna post a review because I was just on vacation to Georgia to get my nails done but upon further review of my nails, and now that they're starting to lift not even a week into it. I think I should speak up. Let's start with the fact that I had to wait an hour for the owner to show up, after all the apologies, which was all right fine whatever didn't really care. She started to work on my nails she had to. She forgot to shave down the pinky what she ended up doing and as you see in the pictures it was a half a shitty job I've gotten no compliments on my nails and spiderweb. I was told is the worst by the way, if they've ever seen thing doesn't even look like a spiderweb you'll see the pictures pictures. Next. time before I go on vacation anywhere I'll be sure that my nails are done at least the day before the way she did nails must be a Georgia standard but they're surely not a New Jersey standard. Life has really been throwing lots of curve balls my way so a close friend of mine entered me into their $100 worth of pampering services giveaway. Surprisingly and thankfully I got chosen. I contacted them through IG messenger (the response was so professional and I can feel the excitement ) . So we set up a date and time. When I got there, I was greeted with a big hug by the owner Star. Right away she started to treat me like royalty , made it her duty to learn to pronounce my name and even made a grand announcement in the shop to the other customers getting serviced that I am the grand prize winner. She then offered me a glass of wine and to my surprise I was then presented with a Turkey and a box of canned goods! Wow wow wow, I was almost in tears. As to the services; I received teeth jewelry,lashes, eyebrows pedicure and a full gel set (I thought I'd have to pick regular polish). Everything was EXCEPTIONAL, no complaints! Through out the evening the vibes were just chill and I really enjoyed the pampering I received. I found this place through Yelp. I was so excited because it's black owned. I went to there IG page to really look at their work and I found Naimah( IG @juicycolornails). I text the morning of and she got me in at 12pm for a gel full set and pedi. She's so professional and sweet. She was gentle and very precise in her shaping of my nails. I loved the entire experience the owner is also very sweet. They opened November 2018 so they're still fairly new. I ended up paying $74 total plus I tipped. I'm booked for my fill in 2 weeks. I did not like the end result of this service. My nails dried and it looked as if a small child had took over and destroyed what was supposed to be beautiful!! I was ashamed to show my hands in public! I couldn't wait to go and get my nails done by some professionals, and I did just that!! I try to give black owned businesses a chance, but some just don't give a f**k about the business and how to represent it properly. I will never step foot in this establishment EVER again! This was my first experience & it was horrible I came in at 11 A.M.. i was the only customer for a min and i ended up being done at 5. That is too much time for no reason . Ive only had them two days and my nail popped off like a press on . And, long nails take long but it still shouldn't have took that long . My toe nails were messed up , and i got gel . So, another employee had to come take it off and start all the way over . I spent my whole day there , and that was unacceptable . o no go and get ripped off by Nailz & Beyond! I went to Nailz & Beyond as a first time customer. I was required to pay a $10 deposit which I later found out was not applied to my total balance. I was told this was a new customer fee The prices listed in the website are $10 to $20 less than what is being charged at the nailshop. I actually wouldn't even give one star but there's no option for that, I visited this salon in hopes of getting a simple gel manicure, there was a young lady there who had little to no experience whatsoever who they had sit me down at a table and start to file the old polish off my nails. When she pulled the drill out she drilled my nails so low to the point where I had to wait 4 months just for them to grow out! I should have wrote a review sooner but I couldn't find the name of the place, so here I am: 4 months later and my nails have BARELY grown out. Mind you I had mentioned several times to her that I was in pain and she assured me everything she was doing was procedure. WRONG. The gel polish she covered my paper thin nails with was garbage, polish on my skin. Then about 5 minutes before she finished the service they asked if I had a mask (which I literally had been sitting in the chair for 30-45 minutes without one) so I said no. They then made me purchase a mask and wouldn't finish the job until I purchased. Which is absolutely ridiculous. I'm scarred now and will not let any nail tech touch my nails with a drill because this was extremely traumatizing for me. Unless you know the ladies with more experience personally, I WOULD NOT go here. Seems like the more experienced techs have their set clients and anyone else who walks in gets put with the non experienced tech. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more
