Finally had the opportunity to experience Nalu Spa at Turtle Bay resort! This spa is absolutely stunning! It was a windy day on the North Shore but it was still quite beautiful! As you walk towards the spa entrance you enter a zen zone with a beautiful waterfall and stones. The spa features a serene outside relaxation lounge, with breathtaking ocean views. There is Hawaiian Mamaki tea (hibiscus/mint), dried fruits, pumpkin seeds, and nuts. Also fruit infused water. Inside the women's locker room there is a large dry sauna, 2 showers with eucalyptus and lavender hanging to provide a relaxing shower. Amenities such as natural spray deodorant, combs, hair ties, tampons, dry shampoo, de-tangling conditioning spray, body lotion, razors, and a sample body scrub you can use. They also have make up remover wipes. The spa was very clean and well maintained. The best part not crowded at all! Their prices are a bit high, perk is they offer a 15% military and local discount. This is the only spa on the island that provides an ocean side spa experience. I received my aromatherapy massage in an outside hut. It was so calming to hear the ocean waves, the breeze was a bonus as well. My masseuse was great! I told her where I was having pain and she targeted those areas. She really put some work in and still made me feel good. I was offered an enhancement treatment. I chose the scalp massage. It is a revitalizing treatment. It was amazing. The whole experience was great from the moment we walked through the doors till we left. read more

The are not many amenities for the price. The locker room is small. They only have a small sauna. The relaxation area has a nice view but it isn't as private as I'd hope. I saw too many guests taking pictures and talking loudly nearby. The staff were very nice. I did get to make my own mix of bath salts. I recently had a massage at this spa and I must say it was a good. I guess I was expecting more for the prices. The price was too expensive for their services. I stayed at the villas and since it was not booked through the hotel the amenities like the pool was not part of the spa experience which was disappointing since it would of been nice to relax pool side before having a relaxing treatment. This is my second time coming to this spa. Once in December 2018 for my birthday and received the most incredible massage, but the hotel was dated. In may 2022, now back for my boyfriends birthday, the hotel is remodeled and feels luxe, beachy, and aesthetically pleasing. We also went to the spa again and received an 80 minute couples massage that was outdoors. This is the only place on the island that offers waterfront massages and this place exceeded my expectations. It was so calm listening to the waves and Francis and Wilson were really adding to the experience. The massages were exceptional and as locals visiting, we're happy to have found a place that really feels luxurious and serene at the same time. We decided to do a staycation, as we live on island and wanted to celebrate our anniversary. We both get massages pretty frequently through out the year in our local neighborhood, and have had massages at hotels on Oahu and Big island, so we figured we do the resort thing and treat ourselves again. Maybe I had high expectations, because of the price tag, but I was definitely underwhelmed. I understand they are renovating their main spa area, but there was no ambiance in its current location on the 2nd level. Very lack of a try, pop up shop. Underwhelmed with the deep tissue massage as well. It's deep tissue cause I like a lot of pressure, not a soft rub down. Wife said her massage was fine, but the price still can't be justified. End of the day, spent wayyyy too much money for an underwhelming experience. Throw on an automated 22% gratuity/service fee($120) extra. $700 read more

I went down to the spa booking to book a couples massage, however Turtle Bays power was out. Allison took my information and requested appointment time and let me know I would receive a call once their systems were running again. Allison called me later that afternoon to let me know I was booked for a 4:00pm appointment, and all I needed to do was to call back and confirm. I called back at 1:44pm and left a detailed voicemail confirming the appointment as no one answered the phone. To our surprise, when we arrived they did not have our reservation. The woman working the spa reception was able to get us a new appointment that evening and told me they would discount the massage. At that point I felt they had made up for the error. Upon completion of our appointment, the one who promised the discount was gone. Another different woman working the desk was there. At that point we were told if we wanted to spend MORE money, we could get a 15% discount. When I went to check out, I informed the front desk who got in contact with the spa manager. The response I was given was that it was MY fault for not confirming. I have included a photo proving I returned the call to the spa. Why would they have a voicemail, if they don't intend to check it? We live here and my company uses Turtle Bay to host a multi day work conference annually. The ocean view from the massage room was beautiful. However, the prenatal massage was disappointing and wasn't worth the price tag attached to it. It was like a light rub down and didn't feel like a massage. I did indicate to the masseuse that she could use more pressure but to no avail. May be it's the nature of the prenatal massage or it's this particular masseuse Amanda, I don't know. My husband's deep tissue massage was pretty good and the masseuse was Jessica. I was extremely disappointed by this experience. My fiancé and I decided to come to Nalu for a couple's massage which I booked over the phone with a customer service representative after corresponding via email. Once receiving email confirmation for my reservation, I noticed that the incorrect massages were booked for each of us. I emailed the spa back to inform them of the error and was told that it would be adjusted, however, it was still incorrect when we arrived. I was expecting the outdoor, beachside experience of a couple's massage at Nalu but was not informed until receiving the reminder email the day before that the spa was under renovation. When we arrived the day of, the "spa" was running out of hotel rooms on the second floor. Not to mention, our massages weren't booked as a couple's experience. One of our massage therapists' asked us if we "needed" to be in the same room. It was a less than luxurious experience. While the massages were decent and the massage therapists' were friendly enough, it was not worth the money for the service at all. Staff were not prepared for the changes of the renovation and if I knew that those were the circumstances in which services are provided at this time I would never have booked. read more

I loved everything about my experience at Nalu Kinetic Spa. I've never been so relaxed and in such a beautiful environment during a spa visit. I had a whole day to myself during a recent stay with my boyfriend, so I decided to do a little pampering after I discovered they had "Spa Happy Hour" specials on Monday - Friday from 12 - 5pm. As soon as I heard that a pedicure was on special for $75 (original $95), I quickly booked my appointment for that same afternoon. It was going to be the most expensive pedicure of my life, but I had to see what this spa was all about! I checked in for my appointment about 10 minutes early as requested, and a friendly staff member led me to the "Relaxation Room" -- which ended up being outside, offering a beautiful view of the ocean. She then offered me a glass and a small complimentary bottle of champagne. I was in HEAVEN! Sitting outside on the soft lounge couches, listening and watching as the massive waves roll in with champagne in hand... It really doesn't get any better than that. You get a front and center view of nature doing it's thang. Eventually I was led into the mani/pedi room where I got to choose from some polishes that supposedly strengthen your nails. Big glass windows lined one side of the room, letting in light and offering a beautiful view as my pedicure began. The process is kind of like a mini-massage and a pedicure all in one. After soaking your feet and shaping your nails, the leg and foot massage starts with a sugar scrub, then two other dishes of butters and oils, and finishes with a hot towel compress. Once my feet were snug in their hot towels, my pedicurist, Brittney, asked if I wanted a champagne refill. You best believe I said yes! She brought another small bottle, poured me a glass, and then went to work painting my toes. They came out beautifully! She was very attentive and always asked my opinion before doing anything. After tax and an automatic 20% gratuity, my total came out to about $98. Almost the same as the original price! I was thrilled. After a little over an hour of luxury and pampering (and a few glasses of champagne), it's safe to say that I'll definitely be back! TREAT YO SELF! read more

Terrible customer service. Called to reserve two massages but wasn't sure which one my husband prefers as he was driving. I asked to book the time for me and was willing to provide payment information but with an option to change the type of massage (same duration just different type). They said that they can't do this and I need to know what I want exactly even though they made a mistake the day before (booked the wrong treatment for me) and it wasn't a problem for them to change it. When I started meditating over twenty years ago I would imagine a place in my mind. The details just came to me and I would imagine that place to relax. It always seemed like a dream. Some days that place in my mind was cloudy, hard to see/hard to visualize because I was disturbed or stressed. When I booked the seaside massage I had no idea what to expect, accept a massage by the ocean. I was lead to a little hut down a path. When I entered the hut and saw the view from the hut I almost cried. It was the place I imagined all these years. It was a place that only exists in my mind. Here I was inside a dream, so to speak. Only other way I can express it is "breath taking". This of course is a great way to start off an eighty minute massage. Eva was a professional and I was in a dream state the whole time. The staff and the reservation process was great and there was lots of water stations with nice enhancements like coconut and hibiscus. I will book the seaside massage for the next time I am at Turtle Bay Resort. It's a challenge I know but the only reason it's not five stars is because the facilities is lacking a bit. The men's locker room only had a steam bath, only one small bench to sit down on and it was wet from the dude who just worked out. Very few hooks to hang a robe or a towel while showering and only one pair of slippers that where too big for me to use. Critical I know but it's a review remember. Nalu is a nice place but not great. My massage was ok, but not at all worth the exorbitant price. I've been to spas and have had many massages. I have never paid this much for even an exceptional experience, but I realize it's at a resort and this spa is like the "room service" of spas. Still, though, it is clear to me that Spa Nalu is hurting for business. Here's why: We had an excellent mobile massage from a local woman earlier in the week and had booked her again for today. Well, last night the front desk called our cottage to tell us she was not allowed to come back to Turtle Bay because someone from Nalu saw her drive up to give a guest here a massage. She had been giving massages at Turtle Bay for years, as we'd used her in the past. I still cannot believe they can impose such a cruel and greedy restriction on a person who is trying to do her job and support her ohana. Bad ju ju, and shame on you, greedy company (Blackstone?) that has recently bought Turtle Bay. People can see right through you. In any case, I had to see what this place would be like. They got what they wanted. $300 later, they put a local out of a job and angered and robbed people on holiday. Oh and the people at the spa try to hard-sell you on their products. As if you're not already spending enough. As if it's a cheap flea market or a cheap hair cut place where they really push their average products on you. Pretty trashy way to do business at a supposed high end salon, especially when you're just gotten a treatment and you want to relax. Do yourself a favor and go to a local place who won't treat you like a coach passenger on a cheap airline. read more

I was there in the summer of 2019 and received a relaxing massage. The spa was not being rennovated yet so I was able to enjoy the ambiance & the amenites of what a spa resort should be. I was just there this year right after the new year with two other family members. We purchased the full package (massage, facial & pedicure). Because of the the main spa was being rennovated, they operated on the 2nd floor where they lacked the spa setting and the amenities. But the prices DID NOT reflect this downgrade. I was disappoined this time around. For some reason pedicures could not be scheduled on the day I wanted so I had a 25 minute scalp massage in place of it. My full body massage service ended 10 minutes early. I know it's only 10 minutes but for what they were charging I should have been able to get my full time. My facial also ended before the alotted time. And after all that plus the lack of the spa ambiance and amenites, they tacked on a 22% service charge. I get facials and massages once a month at local spas where I live. I just felt we spent way too much for what we received. They should offer more perks with their services until they can go back to their main spa. Until then, I would wait until the new remodeled spa is ready before I book an appointment. read more

Upon walking into the women's bathroom, it smelt like urine. I told one of the workers & she immediately cleaned the stalls & plugged in some sort of a diffuser & sprayed something to mask the smell but it didn't do much. I was disappointed that they only had a sauna on the women's side & not a steam room. My fiancé said they only had a steam room on their side. The funny thing is that we both preferred the opposite of what they had. We did the couples massage beach side in the private cabana. The rooms are almost as close to the water as the cabana, so if I went again I wouldn't pay the extra money. The massage was very nice but my masseuse barely talked to me. He asked a couple questions & asked if the pressure was ok. Maybe I had higher expectations because of the last 2 massages I've had on Maui & in Vegas. Overall it was an ok experience & we paid top dollar. Also they have a mandatory 20% tip. I've been to a lot of places & they've never done this before. If the therapist knows they're getting a nice tip automatically, I think that does not incentivize them to actually do a spectacular job. We should have taken advantage of the gym as I heard after the fact that use of the gym was included with service. We were staying at the villas through a private rental, so that would have been our chance to check out the gym. read more

Located at Turtle Bay Resort, this spa is just one of the multiple areas Turtle Bar redesigned. I have no idea what their old spa looked like, but this is a nice replacement. We arrived for an 8 am appointment to an empty spa. As we donned our robes my hubby and I waited in the lobby with green tea and water. Their relaxation room is still under construction, but I didn't mind if we were the only ones there. We had a couples 60 minute massage. I wasn't a huge fan of my masseuse. Although he was very knowledgable about the muscles in the body and how they are connected, he did come off a little preachy about what caused the aches in my body. I think he was aware of that as he apologized for talking that way later, but it's just a room for improvement to that fifth star :) I can't stress how nice it was to have your own changing room. I hung out in the sauna for a really long time, enjoyed a nice silent shower and prepped at the vanity which I would think would be very crowded with others around. It's a pretty small space. Another good piece of information: there is a boutique down there with clothes from lily lotus. I love that place normally and don't know if guests would know about the store without either booking a spa treatment or working out. read more

This is my 4th visit to Turtle Bay. I try to get one spa appointment per visit. The spa is very serene. Quiet, zen. I had a massage by Lisa and it was fabulous. I was totally relaxed. My only complaint is that they are sooo expensive. I know it's a resort, but come on! $90 for a pedicure? $140 for a basic massage? PLUS tax and a 20% fee?? At home, I pay $13 for a pedicure and $75 for a massage. No tax and the tip is my choice, not mandatory 20%. Every time I go, it seems like I am the only one there. Maybe if they came down on their pricing they would have more business. read more

We originally visited Nalu on our anniversary stay at Turtle Bay Resort in September 2014 and indulged in a couples massage by the sea in the small but well appointed Nalu cabana. The "shack" itself literally sits on the edge of the bluff or "the point" as it's called. It is indeed an indulgence but one well worth the cost. It's my understanding that the Spa has undergone a major overhaul in the last 18-months so I can't speak to what it was like before. Finally after a week of calling I was able to get an appointment, but seeing as I had a gift card I feel like they gave me the short end of the stick. Be aware that when you are making your appt on the phone you have to tell them you have a gift card, and you can't make an appt online with a gift card...so make note of that. Seeing as I live 45 minutes away from Turtle Bay I thought that I would take a day to myself and go to their pool and walk around their property and use the gym before my spa appointment. So I called and asked the rules about using the pool and property and was told that I was able to use the amenities of the resort before my appointment, and just to come in whenever I was ready for the gym before or after my pedi and massage. With this noted, my appointment was at 5pm, so I decided to check in and let them know I was there and would be using the amenities beforehand. I first went to the locker room and changed into my swim suit before heading to the pool. After ordering a drink at the pool with almost half of the lounge chairs empty I was approached by a woman stating that she was the resort manager and asked my last name and room number. I told her that I was a guest of the spa and had an appointment in a few hours but was told it was okay for me to use the amenities for the afternoon. She made it clear to me and so others around me could hear, that I was not able to use the pool or any resort amenities but I could go around the corner and use the public beach. She definitely noticed me because my towel was a costco towel, however, walked right past the couple two seats away from me who also had costco towels. So I had to chase down my pool waitress and after 20 minutes finally found her to close my tab and get my credit card back and headed to the public beach 10-15 minute walk away. This was not an ideal start to my spa day. After spending an hour or so at the beach I decided to go to the gym where I could tell I was being judged the moment I walked in the door, but I worked out and headed to my spa appointment downstairs. So, the Happy Hour specials change each month but are supposed to ALL include a small bottle of champagne upon your arrival. I was pretty shocked when I read the actual prices for this spa seeing as it seemed out dated and even the happy hour prices were not that great. I ended up getting a "quick fix" 25 minute upper body massage for $140 and a pedicure for $75. After I checked in for my two appointments around 4:40 I was walked to the locker room again and the girl showed me my locker. I changed but was also confused as to if I was supposed to put on a robe for my pedicure or if I was supposed to keep on my same clothes and then change after my pedi for my massage. Usually they tell you what you should change into and where robes and sandals go when you are done. The locker room and bathroom area was a bit out dated and didn't look like they had done any upkeep in the last 5 years since they remodeled it. After changing I went outside to the "quiet relaxation" area for the spa guests. However, this area was anything but quiet. There were hotel guests and locals and tourists of every kind walking, talking, and enjoying their vacation right in front of the quiet area 10 feet from my chair. After being outside for 10 minutes I was greeted by a gentleman for my pedicure. Now I am going to try to make this as short as possible, but this was nothing close to any spa treatment I have ever had before. First off, I was not offered any champagne until 20 minutes into the pedi when I asked for it (which was super awkward). He also had a bandaid fall into my water when he was soaking my feet. He made comments about how I had strong feet (and if you've read my other Bui 808 nails review you know how much I hate feet, but did post my pedi from that place). I don't want to give details on the actual conversation we had but I remember it completely and do not think that it was appropriate for a resort spa employee to have with a guest. There was also no one else in the salon area, so maybe he felt comfortable talking to me because of the space being empty. He spoke to me as if we were best friends for 10 years and told me things you wouldn't normally tell a stranger whose feet you're painting. Oh one more comment he said was "I am just going to paint your whole toe and get the polish off your skin after because your toes are really difficult to paint." That was weird. After my pedi was finally done and my toes only drying for 5-7 minutes, I was told to go back to the "quiet relaxation" waiting area to wait for my massage. My massage therapist came about 10 minutes after I was waiting and guided me to my room. She didn't tell me how she wanted me to lay or where to put my robe or my sandals but did give ample time to have me change and get under the sheet. The massage was ok. I wouldn't recommend going to this spa, try the spa at the Moana Surf Rider in Waikiki. read more

My husband and I booked a couple's massage at the seaside cabana as a special treat of relaxation on our honeymoon. You do get access to the spa for the entire day when you book a service so USE IT! (We didn't that's why I'm sad). Getting to the spa was a little tricky but once we arrived, we checked in and changed in our respected restrooms into robes and sandals. The seaside cabana was small but right on the ocean. I had a male masseuse, my husband had a female. My masseuse was a little rough but did a nice job. My husband raved about his masseuse and said the massage was the best part of our trip! I liked the experience but it wasn't the best massage I've ever received. It was also $420. After our massage, we went to relax and received champagne! This was completely unexpected but awesome! We stayed for about an hour afterwards and enjoyed listening to the ocean. My only complaint is that the spa area is open for people to walk through, as it's on the ocean, so it's not entirely private. I enjoyed the ocean side experience the most- exactly what I wanted in Hawaii. read more

Am i really the first to write a review? Had an hour & half massage hoping to come out with my muscles feeling like jello, but not really..was falling asleep because i need my meat mushed. I did ask for medium hard but i think some masseuse feels because i have a smaller body frame they tend to always go light. Everything was good but i personally like my muscles squeezed w more pressure. Got used to those asain masseuse pain compared to her kind gentle hands. Personally would not return for the price but a nice experience. Had a dry steam room too in the womans locker. read more
