I'm disappointed that people are putting on low reviews. My opinion is completely different. I was able to make affordable purchases. I am happy with them. But the following are the reasons I'm especially happy. 1. The customer service is top notch. I like that they have a chat. I liked that they wrote to me thanking me for joining and asking if I needed anything. When I explained the problem I was having they got on it right away to solve it. 2. The reps I have talked to are both Ukrainian. (I asked) That made me super happy to be able to support Ukraine in this way. Namecheap's customer service is deplorable. I've been a customer since 2016, but this year they lost me. Nonsensical bots, "live chats" that aren't live, long complicated emails with allegedly live "representatives" that sound suspiciously like bots (or at least don't understand plain English), links to obtuse articles that don't address my issue -- all to pay my bill?? And every step of the way, the site automatically reselects "auto-renew," so you have to be really careful to deselect it repeatedly. Namecheap has changed the definition of Premium domain in order to rip off customers. We purchased the domain right.news last year and now you are trying to charge us again even though our receipt says PURCHASE. "Please note that the premium purchase may take 24-72 hours to complete". To transfer the domain they want to charge us the same amount we paid for the domain. This is a new scam that is created to rip off domain investors whom believe they are buying a domain. had this domain since 2003 and 5/ 2024 I decided I needed a new look. I hired "USA website designers" paid for the build & 5 yr hosting. My site has been down off and on. Now for 2 weeks and the only response was I need seo work that cost 599.00. I contacted Cloudfare on Friday and some adjustments was made to the security and the site was live for viewing. I'm so bummed! Namecheap was supposed to be the last honest man! I run more than 20 domains and I have them all set to "auto-renew." Namecheap has my current credit card #. I don't know at what point they changed the policy, but suddenly, instead of just charging my card they expected me to be maintaining a "balance" to pay from. It's all been on autopilot for so long that I only check in every few months to make sure everything's okay. Several of my domains had been allowed to expire. Some of them I've had for more than 20 years! Of course, they retained ownership and charged me more than $80 per domain to get them back. Taking ownership of domains because you've changed your rules and then demanding additional payment to get them back is GoDaddy-level bullcrap. I'm so disappointed. After helping me claw my domains back, the customer service guy asked if I wanted to set my domains to "auto-renew." I was like, "they ALREADY WERE set to auto-renew!" The customer service guy told me that this was all due to new laws about India no longer accepting visa payments or something, yada yada... I don't keep up on Indian law changes beyond knowing that the Modi regime is just another Putin/Trump/Xi-style despot. So depressing! Namecheap, I'm sorry you suck now. I have used Get Stencil for about 10 years. LOVED IT! Then Namecheap bought them and now it typically takes well over an hour JUST TO SIGN IN. They have a 2 step verification set up that doesn't work. It never sends the code to your email. Their chat is useless. They have me on for over an hour with NO progress. They ask ever increasingly intrusive info to 'Verify my Identity' Nothing is good enough, eventually they request a pic with your ID. Ridiculous! No matter how much info you give them or how many verification you give, they want that pic. Awful service. Namecheap took a simple, easy tool and made it inaccessible. They don't offer any kind of refund. Do yourself a favor, don't get involved with this questionable company. read more

A few days after writing this review I was contacted by a member of upper level tech support. They state that it was, in fact , a server glitch and that they would guarantee me (in writing) that it would NEVER happen again. The also gave me 2 months of fee free service (and that means a LOT) as recompense. I spread that 2 months out to my hosting customers and everyone is happy with the support. I am changing my rating based on the fact that someone took notice of my long term relationship and took the time to explain what had happened and then recompense me for the inconvenience. Superb customer service. Not many companies go that extra mile (and thankfully they did make it right before I had moved all of the domains that I manage). My domain was up for renewal, so i put money into my account to keep my domain for my website...and they somehow let it expire anyway, and now some corporate reseller called dropcatch owns my domain and from what it looks like, a disabled veteran on fixed income is prolly gonna be told i have to pay thousands of dollars to get it back, and it took me nearly 2 hours just to get them to refund the money i put into their account to pay for said domain because they were always posting 'give me 7-9 minutes to review' or 'give me 7-11 minutes to find the supervisor' while arguing with me consistently while this disabled veteran with viral meningitis had to continue staring at a bright screen that literally hurts me...i was told to post things i had posted 5 times already, and had to tell them 5 or six times to refund the money before they actually may have done it...i dunno, it's gonna take 10+ days to figure that one out IF it posts the refund to my bank... neither of the 'people' i spoke with even said potato when i asked them to...i'll bet they were just chatbots...SMH read more

Bad experience with Namecheap. They did not send renewal notification as required; and they put my auto-charge through anyway. They also did not send receipt. They will not acknowledge their mistake and refund my money. (I keep very detailed track of my business expenses and am able to search my email, including deletions, so I know the notice was not sent, but they will not believe me. I intended to cancel, so I have been denied that option.) Do not want to do business with such an irresponsible company that has no respect for the client. They don't seem to mind activity that's in violation of their acceptable usage agreement... or they just don't enforce it. They also don't list any contact info in their whois and the email correspondence I've had with their legal team I could of been talking with a broken bot. I wish I could leave no stars. The online service is a disaster. I found out that Namecheap charge my c.c. for a domain name. I haven't used this company for a couple years. As of last year I did not renew, but for some reason they think I wanted to renew this year. I have filed FRAUD charges on my c.c for this company. This has to be the biggest joke on the internet. They think you will not notice when they charge your c.c. They have no phone number to call so I have to rely on internet and emails. But their online "chat" is a joke too. THis is my first experience with name cheap and i will not be using them to host my business. I have learnt that they have gone and collected money from my account 30 days before expiration. I connected with one of the agent online and he took forever to respond, and did not told me to hold on initially. He told me i could not be refunded unless it was 72 hours after it happened, When i told him i did not read or have anyone tell me this was the policy to charge your card 30 days before expiration, . He forwarded an article on a site to me, letting me know that this is where it was stated. I asked him to let me speak with a manager, he said he will see if one is available and took forever to come back. When he did, he kept telling me what he could not do instead of what needed to be done. I asked for a phone number and he said, i quote "Namecheap does not provide phone support at the moment. Our customers are currently assisted 24/7/365 in Live Chat and at our ticket helpdesk." end quote. He wanted to give me 20% on my renewal which i did not want that domain they automatically renew. However, I have another domain i wish to keep. At this point I will not be using them, if there is no instant connection with a real person in the eventuality that I have experiencing trouble with my website. I went on your site to renew my domain name for one year, and it wouldn't let me complete the purchase, so I did it again, and then the third time it finally went through. I ended up being charged for all three attempts ( two of them never showed up on my side as going through) and when I contacted your customer support, I was told that I could not be refunded for the two additional charges, but only one of them because the other went through to renew for an additional year. I did not want to renew for two years, and because your site would not show me that I was being charged I am now being forced to buy another year, because I was told that your policy does not allow refunds. I feel I was tricked/forced into this additional transaction, and can't believe that this is your companies business ethics. I'm not sure about the other reviews, but I found namecheap to have the best prices on Domain Names and the hosting (I have the middle range shared hosting) is fast, very fast. I had 1and1 and have been experiencing slowdowns - NameCheap hosting responds quickly and best of all it is CHEAP. Compare what you get from other host and give them a try. I'm only paying $5 a month for what 1and1 is charging $9 a month. read more
