We drove here while visiting family in Caldwell. It was only a 25 minute drive so I would…read moredefinitely recommend it to anyone visiting the western suburbs of Boise. It is a smaller aquarium, but was not at all lacking for the cost and what they advertised (I grew up in a Chicago suburb so it's hard to compare to the Shedd Aquarium). So many varieties of coral and anemone. Many types of grouper, clownfish, and starfish. The montereys were fun to watch. I'd almost consider this a petting zoo but for fish. There were 3 or 4 open tanks with the purpose of touching the fish. Our daughter is a little young for that but she loved tracking the fish in their tanks. The aquarium was well staffed. The staff was very friendly and informative. It was well maintained and clean. There's a little gift shop and a photo booth to remember your visit by on the way out. Would recommend to anyone who has kids maybe 14 and under or anyone who has a real interest in sea creatures.

This is a fun place for a short family outing (about 45 minutes). My husband, kids, and I enjoyed seeing all the fish and animals. For reference, our visit cost $46 for a family of four (two adults, a 9-year-old, and a 4-year-old), without any of the optional feeding add-ons. One important note for those with sensitivities: Anyone with mold sensitivities, asthma, or environmental allergies may want to proceed with caution. We were indoors for about 35 minutes, and afterward I didn't feel well. The space is quite humid, and the building is older, with visible signs of water damage on the ceiling throughout the building. There also doesn't seem to be much fresh air circulation. Because my children and I are very sensitive to mold, this unfortunately isn't a place we'll be able to visit again anytime soon. I'm sharing this simply to help others with similar sensitivities make an informed decision.

Pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic to make a full day of it. It's a fun, affordable outing that the whole family will enjoy! We got to visit the Boise zoo back in 2019. Hope to go back again and see what changes have been made and enjoy the fun again.

I can understand the desire to see animals you've never seen before, or would otherwise never have…read morethe chance to see. However, at a certain degree- a zoo is inhumane. Especially when it's the Boise Zoo. There is zero enrichment, even environment, for the animals here. They all genuinely look depressed. Which is not only depressing, but heartbreaking. These poor animals are in bare enclosures, dying or dead grass, and have zero stimulation. I've been to many zoos, aquariums, and such as a child. I visited the Boise Zoo for free as I was working (not for the zoo, but the company I was working for offered a day at the zoo for our customers and I was one of the employees selected to go with)... You could not pay me to go back and support this zoo. Or, see the absolutely horrible state these animals are forced to live in. For people who don't care about the animals... The bathrooms were c dirty; not maintained at all. Half of the stalls were out of toilet paper and there was no paper towels to dry your hands. The food is priced crazily high. Zero stars if I could.

Upon arriving, she seemingly lacked any personality or zest for the job. She started questioning whether he was matted or not, which was very specific and I've never been questioned about. She stated he was matted and I'd need to reschedule with someone that can cut those out. As a Shepard mix with a double coat, his hair is thick and can be brushed out. I told her that he could be brushed out and every groomer in the past, at that PetSmart, had no issues. Since I was 45 minutes early I asked if I brought him out to the car and brushed the "matts" out, would she groom him. She responded that she wouldn't. Her flat out refusal to work with me, alongside her snarky smile, like she had accomplished something great by refusing to take my dog, made me cancel my other dog's grooming appointments. I won't be back and I absolutely recommend not taking your dog to Karla. It took me 10 minutes to brush out his hair.
