Like a true professional, he worked out the issue, traced it to the pump (which was not where it was supposed to be) and replaced it. Although the pump had to be ordered, it was worth the extra two day wait to have it done correctly. Mike carried a similar pump, but he knew it would have been too powerful, so he suggested doing the right thing and he made a second trip back. Cared for our property from start to finish by cleaning up afterwards, cleaned off our tarp and put our hose away. Like he was never ever there. A true professional AND the only person we would call to inspect and service our unique water feature.

Especially when it's the Boise Zoo. There is zero enrichment, even environment, for the animals here. They all genuinely look depressed. Which is not only depressing, but heartbreaking. These poor animals are in bare enclosures, dying or dead grass, and have zero stimulation. I've been to many zoos, aquariums, and such as a child. I visited the Boise Zoo for free as I was working (not for the zoo, but the company I was working for offered a day at the zoo for our customers and I was one of the employees selected to go with)... You could not pay me to go back and support this zoo. Or, see the absolutely horrible state these animals are forced to live in. For people who don't care about the animals... The bathrooms were c dirty; not maintained at all. Half of the stalls were out of toilet paper and there was no paper towels to dry your hands. The food is priced crazily high. Zero stars if I could.

Upon arriving, she seemingly lacked any personality or zest for the job. She started questioning whether he was matted or not, which was very specific and I've never been questioned about. She stated he was matted and I'd need to reschedule with someone that can cut those out. As a Shepard mix with a double coat, his hair is thick and can be brushed out. I told her that he could be brushed out and every groomer in the past, at that PetSmart, had no issues. Since I was 45 minutes early I asked if I brought him out to the car and brushed the "matts" out, would she groom him. She responded that she wouldn't. Her flat out refusal to work with me, alongside her snarky smile, like she had accomplished something great by refusing to take my dog, made me cancel my other dog's grooming appointments. I won't be back and I absolutely recommend not taking your dog to Karla. It took me 10 minutes to brush out his hair.

Then I walked into Shane's store. Shane spent a full hour talking with me, answering every single question I had (and I had a LOT). You can tell immediately how knowledgeable he is, not just from what he says, but from how clearly he explains things. He didn't rush me, didn't make me feel silly for being a beginner, and he gave me honest guidance about what I actually need instead of trying to upsell anything. What stood out the most is how much he cares about people having a successful experience. He offered support for anything I might need going forward--advice, troubleshooting, product suggestions, all of it. It's rare these days to find someone who genuinely wants to help you succeed, and Shane absolutely does. If you're starting a saltwater tank (or even if you're already deep into the hobby), go see Shane. The level of customer service and knowledge he brings is on a completely different level.
