When running a business treating customers as thieves as soon as they walk through the door is not the best approach.... As soon as you walk through the door you will be told to lock your belongings up or leave. The more upsetting aspect of this experience is looking over to see another individual walking around with a purse that they were not made to lock up. First of all, my husband and I are previous customers, having bought an $800 cabinet, last fall. Today, we went in to look at more furniture and tchotchkes. We were "greeted" at the door by a woman telling me I needed to lock my purse in the front locker, as theft has been a problem. Albeit an awkward request, I complied. Then, as I walked through the store, I saw another woman shopping, while wearing a rather large bag/purse on her shoulder. As I implied, I was not a fan of this "purse locker" policy... But I was REALLY not a fan of being singled out... or "profiled." We won't be shopping here, again. Three French Hens and Cobblestone Cottage will be our go-to's. read more

This place is ridiculous - where do I even begin...? We walked in and were ambushed by a saleswoman demanding that my 4'11", 85 year old German grandma check her purse at these lockers at the front of the store because they think she's gonna steal - offensive af! We complied, and Oma was super confused, but we proceeded to walk around the place complete with $3200 hi-back uncomfortable "Salem Witch Trial" upholstered chairs and ridiculous Hobby Lobby lamps for $325 - there are "no-no" signs everywhere and surveillance cameras all over the place - it's comically ridiculous and I'd only recommend it to younger/hip people to go in for a laugh - ZERO STARS...! read more

I have ordered candle sleeves and inserts, either white or orange are available. The inserts need to be charged with the charging cord supplied with each. I so love the candle sleeves purchased, one is for winter and one is for spring. I do love the pictures on both sleeves. Packaging, for shipping is above average. Everything arrives in tip top shape, at your front door. The price of the candle sleeves and the insert, used to light up the candle sleeves, is beyond belief. Very sturdy and, I am sure, very long lasting. I have the winter sleeve, for a few months and just received the spring sleeve, about two weeks ago. I was a bit taken aback when I was asked to lock my purse in a locker due to the large amount of theft in the store. I do not carry a large purse! The prices were also extremely high. read more

Unfortunately you cannot bring in a purse larger than 9x7, if you decide to shop there you must lock up your purse on a locker. Very much of a turn off. Came in town with my son really wanting to look at the electric candles so I did want to see the store if it wasn't for that reason I would've told them never mind. I will not go back into the store again. Service wasn't super friendly either. read more

I really, REALLY wanted to love this home decor store. I'd seen their facebook page and all of the beautifully staged pictures of primitives and "farm" life accessories and I just had to check it out. Well, what their facebook page doesn't hint at are the prices. I'm sure the owner is a lovely person and is trying hard, but part of being a successful business owner is understanding your market and the value of what you have to offer. All of the items for sale are reproductions and I have no problem with that. But when the first item that catches my eye as I walk in the store is a resin reproduction of an antique wooden serving plate...and it's priced at $32.95, I immediately realize this place is missing the mark. Now, I did an internet search and found the same resin reproduction for sale for $62, so obviously there are others with the same mindset, but this item is a $15 (max) item. It's plastic, folks! There was also an interesting wire bowl that caught my eye. Mass produced and priced at $92. Nope. The rest of the store was more of the same. All reproductions, all over-priced. The only items of true interest were the display pieces. I will not go back as there is no way the prices would ever be reasonable and the pieces simply aren't unique enough to merit them. Too bad. We recently moved into a new home. Shopped for curtains at a lovely primitive store in St. Charles. The lady at the desk informed me that I would only receive a store credit if I should return the curtains. Thus, I decided not to purchase. Visited Nana's Farmhouse and asked the sales floor employee of the return policy. The employee stated "as long as you return them within 10 days". Thus, I purchased the curtains and spent an additional 1,000+ in a short period of time. I purchased two small pieces of furniture, took them home and decided I wanted to return them (within one day) and look to purchase another piece instead. At that given time, I returned the curtains that I purchased. When I pulled up to the parking lot, I removed the receipt from my purse and noticed that the return policy is ten days with store credit only. I about fell over! Had I been told the entire return policy, I would've never made a mistake in purchasing the items without being 100% positive that they would work in our decor. I went in and kindly explained the situation and how concerned I was. The nice employee on the floor went in the back and discussed my situation with the owner. She then came back and told me that is their policy and I could only return the items for store credit. Also, she stated that I couldn't return one piece of furniture because it was on clearance. At this point, I was beginning to truly have anxiety over the situation. I told the employee that I would like to speak with the owner. The owner came out and repeated the store policy. I told her how her employee only mentioned the ten day return and didn't mention store credit. Again, that is why I was in the situation I was in. After all, I was trusting when I asked about returning my curtains, and I believed an employee would tell me the ENTIRE return policy. The owner then started to explain how she could ask an employee and wanted to know who the employee was. All I could do was remember the day I made the purchase on the curtains. The owner seemed "fixed" on finding out who the employee was rather than addressing my concern. Personally, I feel that is something that should've been handled better. I don't feel the need to concern myself with how she handles her employees, but rather my loss due to their inability to explain their policy in full. The owner felt the need to discuss 1) How difficult it is to place the pieces back on her showroom floor 2) How "smart" people always check their receipts for store policy 3) Pointed at the notes on the desk (mind you they talked about a 15.00 min. purchase on cards) and told me that is why their return policy is posted 4) Searched her employee timesheet to see who was working the day I was told about the return policy. Unprofessional to say the least. She decided to give me a store credit. Unfortunately, that was after her rude, unnecessary comments and behavior. I don't have any problems with adhering to store policies. Also, I understand that there are customers who would lie. I understand why policies are in place. I do not expect to be treated like I am a liar, like I am "not smart" or that my returns are a bother due to placing merchandise back on their floor. Neither do I enjoy being involved in her personal issues with employees by taking the time to try and pinpoint who to blame. Last time visiting Nana's beautiful farmhouse. read more

I was searching on line for a farmhouse style bedspread when I found what I was looking for, yay! So I ordered it and it was shipped right away. Great customer service, right? WRONG! The bedspread came and it was great quality BUT it was NOT as pictured on the website. It was way darker. The color was described as oatmeal and the photo showed a dark ivory (oatmeal). In real life it was really brown (like the color of brown sugar). I couldn't make that work so I called to make the return. Here is where things got bad for me. I was informed that there would be a 20% restocking fee and I would have to pay shipping back to them (I'd already paid $20 for shipping). I told them that the color was not as pictured and they didn't seem to even care. Anyway, BEWARE of Nana! Sounds and looks like a nice place but in the end they sent me what I ordered but didn't feel bad at all that the misrepresentation on their site of the color (way off) cost me about $70. I placed an order from their Facebook Live sale. The staff followed up with me by phone to make sure the order was correct. They followed up with emails when they shipped my order and when it was delivered. The system charged me double shipping and they caught that and refunded the additional charge very promptly. My order was well packaged and arrived so quickly. I have purchased from the store before and am always pleased with their merchandise, but this was the first time I'd had anything shipped. I couldn't be more pleased and will definitely go back whenever I am in the area. read more

I was traveling on business to St Louis and came across this quaint primitive rustic & country home decor & gift store. It was so inviting with chic rustic display cases to showcase inventory. The owner was very sweet and a pleasure to talk with . Her selection was great, ranging from small items to larger home furniture pieces all priced at a great value!! I was also impressed with the quality of products for the prices she charged!! Needless to say, I didn't have enough room in a suitcase to buy as much as I would have liked!! I made a recent purchase on Nana's Farmhouse website and received an email confirming my purchase and that my items would be shipped out promptly. The following day another email was received from the company stating that the items I had purchased would not be available for the price advertised on their website and that a pricing error had been made. Should a company stand behind their pricing error? I personally think it should, especially if payment for that item had been received and a confirmation email had been sent, a deal was made. Honesty and integrity are critical for long term customer satisfaction and good customer service. Using these key business principles will only bring more follow-up business which would offset any current loss for future gains. I have no doubt the pricing error was an honest mistake on their part and the follow-up email was very apologetic, however, I felt the price shown on their site should have been honored or at least a substantial discount given for their mistake.
