Ever since the Bakers took over the place has gone down hill. This is the only location they own, so if you need childcare try another location where Ms. Teresa is still the owner. My daughter was pushed out the door by staff over afterschool payments she was denied entry into the Pre-k program which is a violation by state law. Also, they don't allow parents in the building (another violation) what are they hiding!? Spoke with the state Pre-k dept and QR staff both confirmed this location has many complaints. When I asked for my funds to be returned, and wanted to talk about my child being assaulted by staff Crystal Baker replied "now you can answer the phone". After they got word I called and filed a complaint against them, I was sent an email stating I couldn't come on the property anymore. But that too was another violation because my child is still enrolled at the campus. Crystal Baker argued with state Pre-k attempting to disenroll my daughter because I filled complaints against her. As they let her know that was unlawful. My daughter has come home singing, "shake your dreds, shake your dreds, shake them" and says she heard one of the teachers in the afterschool class playing that song. Just disgusting to say the least. My child's pants were pulled down by a student in her Pre-k class and Crystal Baker suggested that the child not sit next to my daughter anymore. Never reported the incident. Please avoid this center at all cost! They are just operating under the Clarian Place name, totally not up to the standards the Clarian Place my eldest child once attended, try Northlake or Lawrenceville Hwy where they still live up to the name. Crystal and Todd Baker have brought shame to this once loved facility. No wonder Crystal Baker gave herself 5 stars and it is still a 3 star review center! Run away!

Ms. Maddox was there to greet us at the door on our first day and even gave me a small gift as a token of appreciation. At first my 3 year old was unsure of what to think of her new environment, but she adjusted quickly and has loved her school ever since. What I appreciate most about this school is the level of concern that Ms. Maddox and Ms. Givens show to every family. When we step into the building, every teacher / grandmother volunteer greets us with a warm welcome by name. Most importantly, my child's day is packed with creative, educational activities. There is not a second where the students are left with nothing to do (this was a major concern for me at her previous school, as this creates chaos in the classroom). I also appreciate that the school makes an effort on a regular basis to encourage parental involvement through fun projects and homework assignments. Though she and her classmates are only three and four years old, the teachers still provide advanced-level education that is still age appropriate. Every Wed. the kids take Spanish, and they regularly get science and history lessons, and are expected to stand up and present during Show 'n' Tell. I love the level of detail put into ensuring that my child has a well-rounded learning environment. For example, the students are expected to sign in each day so that they learn to recognize their names. The teachers are also required to read a minimum of two books to the students each day. The kids are provided with fresh cooked, healthy meals each day (not anything from a can or that contains a bunch of sugar). Overall, I love ASOE. I have not had any major concerns with this school's operations. This is the best decision that I could have made for my child and her future.

Their food is subpar and reheat days old meals. My child's teacher didn't have the patience to assist with potty training so put a pull up on my child instead of taking them to bathroom when asked. I complained multiple times of my child not being cleaned properly, as feces residue was left in the pull-up and underwear. There have been several incidents where the "teachers" didn't know what happened with my child during the day and left questions unanswered and speculations forming. There isn't any order and quite frankly, I don't think they care because they know the people in the area "need" a daycare. The director and her daughter, Ms. Rhonda, are extremely unprofessional and don't even give the parents decent courtesy by speaking to them. Ms. Freeman is a dictator and reigns over her employees like Hitler. They don't even hold their heads up and speak up when she's around. Once she walks away, they confess how horrible it is to work for her and her condescending daughter. She belittles not only the parents, but also her staff. I feel bad for them because many don't have the knowledge and skills to leave. It's either her way or the highway, even when witnesses and evidence prove otherwise. MKS hires staff who they know they can bully, because they need a job. They have no voice and no one's opinion is respected or heard. Not even the parents'. The staff look and sound like they came off the street because they can barely hold a decent conversation, let alone care for small children. Her infant teacher even gave a baby animal crackers and said, "Well i didn't know she couldn't eat that. How was i supposed to know?". They don't have proper training to work with infants and children and that stems from the Director. She is manipulative and degrading and I would recommend everyone i come in contact with to STAY AWAY from MKS Learning Center. Pay a little more and find a center that will love on your kids, teach your kids, and treat PAYING consumers with respect. Not everyone gets CAPS or subsidized childcare and not everyone is loud and ghetto. Find a place that cares and LISTENS to the parents, as well as the staff. MKS Learning Center is not for you, nor your child.
