According to some of the people who work there, without naming names, it is NOT a welcoming place to work in or be an employee in. Everyone who works there is miserable and disgruntled. It is not a "safe space" environment. I have a direct quote from someone who works there, "it's not very welcoming". There is one employee who is rude to other newer employees. This place needs better management and more professionalism. Have some standards. If you are a daycare, you should be a welcoming safe emotional space for new employees who need training. I know 2 people who work here who have both said these direct quotes about their experience there. Toxic work environment, some people should not be around kids. It might be fun for your kids to go here, but parents think about what you are supporting when you send your kid here. If you are about people, this place isn't it. There are far better daycares in the area.

My son was badly injured at this facility and they did not seek urgent medical care. We've taken our story to the press to make sure parents in the local community were made aware. A simple Google search of this facility will show you the full story, covered by WCBS, NY Post, USA Today, Journal News/LoHud, News12, HLN, and several more. My sons accident uncovered a sad reality - this facility had been operating all year with over 30 violations against it. We had no idea. I've since become very familiar with how to view daycare violations on OCFS.com. As of January 4th, 7th and 8th of 2019, the state of New York logged even more violations against TLE Dobbs Ferry. They now total to 83 violations. In my quest to find new daycare for my son, it appears most daycare centers in our area don't have more than 5 violations over the span of several years, some which have been in operation for 20+ years. Compare that to 83 violations at this facility from November 2017-January 2019. They should be ashamed of themselves. I wish we had known about these violations sooner. We would have removed my son from the program immediately. Since we've spoken to the press, at least a dozen parents and former staff members have contacted my husband and I directly about their own negative experiences at this facility, ranging from injuries to their children requiring stitches and leaving scars; to a 4 year old child being called an "idiot" to her face by one of the head teachers; to another teacher telling the pre-K class about her brother in jail on a daily basis; to teachers being encouraged by management to manipulate the children's daily performance sheets to make it appear they are learning skills at a faster rate than they truly are. Ask yourself, would you want you child being watched by this facility? If you look up the violation history of this center at OCFS.com, you'll see they even failed to perform background checks on a number of the staff. I won't besmirch everyone at TLE Dobbs Ferry. My son had a few really great teachers who cared for him dearly in the 12 months he attended this facility. Unfortunately for my son, none of them were present when he was injured. Had even one of them been, I'd like to think his injury would have been handled better. Many of these teachers have since left TLE and gone on to better facilities. I can't encourage parents enough to do their homework. Please use the resources available by the state of New York and look up the violation history of any daycare facility you are considering for your child. You can also contact the Westchester Childcare Council for assistance. They will even perform a daycare search for you based on where you live, and will give you all the information you need on individual facilities.

During the 8 months my daughter was here, my experience ranged from frustration to extreme anger on an ongoing basis. Firstly, despite assurance of a 1:7 ratio, I often noticed a teacher alone with about 10-15 kids, in a bedroom size room. I rarely noticed a teacher completely engaged with a child. There certainly were a few teachers who were genuinely good and caring, but I thought, given the space and ratio constraints, it was almost impossible for a teacher to pay personal attention to an individual child and strike a rapport, which I feel is the most essential element of a quality daycare. Another aspect of my disappointment stems from the quality of education. Despite the high and lofty ideals advertised in the marketing materials. My 3yo daughter, who could count until 20, say all the alphabets, and was on the path to being fully potty trained, began regressing backwards in just a few months after joining this center. In the end, she could hardly count to 8, lost all interest in spelling, and started to have potty accidents 2-3 times a day. The center did not care despite my several complaints, and once the director even shrugged saying these things happen. Almost everyday when I dropped off my daughter, I had a deep pain in my heart for having to let her go through this. I let her stay there for 8 mo because I was helpless due to my job situation. She moved out, as soon as I had a first chance. For parents considering this daycare, I would recommend that you visit this center once or twice and evaluate it yourself. It will be hard not to notice the red flags. Best of luck with your little one.

I was totally shocked because I hadn't gotten any phone call informing me that my son has a bump , I HAD TO COME AND SEE IT ! So I'm looking at his forehead & one of the staff members goes as shes putting my kid shoes on "oh yeah he fell and hit his head" me in disbelief I asked her and when was this ? She said without any hesitation that it was around 10 in the morning. Mind you I had wrote the app they communicate parents with to see how he was doing around 1130 and someone from the facility replied back and said he was doing great and was going to eat lunch soon. ( NOTHING BOUT HIM HURT ) So I'm asking the lady that told me it happened at 10 why wasn't I notified ? She gonna sit here and say the other staff lady was supposed to call me (which she did not ) so I asked for her and unfortunately that worker was unavailable and not at the daycare at the time , so I got my son and left . I got into my car and immediately text the owner Vanessa to please call me to discuss what happened to my son! She didn't respond quickly until I put it on the app. She then called me and asked me what's going on ? I had told her my concern on what I just found out while coming to pick up my child , that he got hurt and I wasn't notified and asked why ? She claims she wasn't there and would speak with the staff to find out what exactly happened right ? It was about 330 Thursday I didn't get a call back till the next morning from the owner trying to apologize for him getting hurt in her facility. She states that things happen and kids can get hurt . Yes granted we can't control when something happens but we can prevent it of some sort. Okay so the morning of the call she says she spoke with her staff and that she "thinks" the kids were all running around and he got bumped into or he bumped into someone fell and hit his head & that the staff that was supposed to notify me rendered aid and put an ice pack on his forehead where the bump was. Again not only did you not call me to tell me he got hurt but you were also supposed to let the parent know if any aid is needed for their child and for the parent to know EXACTLY what is it that your doing on the child ! So she just going in circles with me on how she sorry it happened and that the staff day got ahead of her that this sort of thing never happened before. How would I know ? So I ask her why is that when I wrote at 1130 that whomever answered never told me she gonna say oh she "thinks" it happened after I wrote them. Again what is this you "think" when you said you spoke with your workers ? That makes me think that you are you trying to cover up something and protect you and your staff ! When in reality you were supposed to PROTECT my kid that day ! And this daycare failed to do that. After all that this unprofessional lady went on a week vacation without giving me any satisfaction nor closure or anything on what happened to my child how hard he hit his head ? Where did he hit his head ? Was he crying after and for how long ? Like so many unanswered questions and as I parent I do NOT condone these actions as a daycare that's supposed to be a safe place for kids this was such a terrible experience no parent should go for & I will NOT recommend you to bring your kid here UNTIL they can speak up for themselves because the outcome you get are lies and me being told that my kid cannot go back there due to whatever unexplained reason Vanessa has ! We moved to the area when our son was 20 months old, and the first thing I noticed he was not getting sick as often at his previous daycare. Gigi is very knowledgeable about child behavior and development stages, she helped us (first time parents) to go through terrible two without stress. There was no bitting, screaming and tantrum period was short and relatively easy. They are a family oriented and adjust to your personal needs. When our second son was born, Gigi taught boys what it means to be a family, and created a strong bond between them. Since this is a mixed age group, younger kids naturally develop skills faster interacting with older peers, while older kids learning to be gentle with babies. As far as academics, they follow preschool programs and teach ABCs, numbers, shapes, working on scissors and glue...you name it. We don't speak English at home, so I can definitely tell boys developed their communication skills and academics at Gigi. In addition they teach Spanish too.
