I found that this daycare provided services that definitely justified their fees. For the record, I think the fees are manageable. My son receives early intervention for his speech delay. Children's Learning Company allowed for his speech pathologist to see him twice a week. Ms. Norma is very warm and understanding. She runs the daycare. There is a good balance of holiday celebration and learning instruction. It can be hard to find a good daycare that you can afford. I'm lucky to have found one to meet my son's needs. Let me elaborate…read more.. - If you have a gifted child, or a child that needs more than the "bare minimum" stimulation-wise...don't even read any further, please just hit "back" and look for another preschool. - If you have a child that doesn't nap for at *least* 2 hours a day, good luck getting the staff to care for them during the nap-time without lamenting to you about it, and maybe even asking you to pick your child up before the nap-time so they don't have to deal it. (I wouldn't want to lay in the pitch dark for 2 hours if I wasn't tired, and my care-giver couldn't be bothered to help me settle down either...) - Trips and events are totally unorganized, and if you're lucky enough to hear about them a week beforehand, they are often changed (or cancelled!!) at the last minute. Not to mention, the children are taken by train - NOT SCHOOL BUS - on these trips..need I say more? It wasn't until my child entered a REAL school that I realized I was paying people top dollar to do the bare minimum...do not make the same mistake!

However, from the very beginning, the entire team has gone above and beyond to support our daughter and our family. They have been incredibly accommodating with schedule changes, thoughtful and patient through food-related challenges, and always willing to answer the endless questions that come with being a new parent. The care, attention, and love they give each child is truly exceptional. Our daughter is so happy there, and seeing her open the classroom door eachday with a smile and hug the teachers tells us everything we need to know. She has formed beautiful relationships with both her teachers and her friends; that means the world to us. What stands out the most is how genuinely invested they are in her well-being and development. They know her, celebrate her, teach her, comfort her, and help her grow. She started the place after being dissatisfied with options for her own child, who is now an amazing and adorable precocious and sweet 3yo who helps her mom acclimate new babies - and their parents. Clearly Cindy's doing something right as a mom, and that spills over into her business as well. Her staff also seemed really vibrant and caring during that first visit, as they engaged the kids in yoga poses, dances, and magic tricks. They have proven to be phenomenal - totally loving and attentive, with an inexhaustible energy and patience. The infants and toddlers spend most of the time in separate areas, but there is still a lot of interaction, including outdoors, and all of the staff seem to know my son really well. If he's upset when I start to leave him at morning drop-off, they know exactly which toy to pull out to make him smile. Like most daycares in the area, Little Jewel is located in a converted one-bedroom apartment. But it doesn't feel as claustrophobic as some of the other ones I visited. It feels spacious and airy, with lots of nice, sturdy, wooden furniture; natural toys; and cute decor. They provide a small breakfast, lunch and snacks, and I suspect the hot lunch is probably the best meal our little one eats each day. And they have been willing to accommodate our little vegetarian. Our previous daycare was large and structured, almost like a school, with set schedules and weekly lesson plans, so I was a little apprehensive about the more laid-back routine at Little Jewel. They do have plenty of activities, they're just not documented to every detail, and they may change them up depending on the weather that day, or the children's individual interests. I do get the feeling my 2yo is learning a lot and his language skills (including Spanish - hooray!) and imaginative play have skyrocketed. He's also gaining lots of independence, as he helps in the kitchen and with clean-up, etc. I appreciate the individual attention he gets, and the love that is clearly lavished upon him - including a line-up for kisses as he leaves almost every day. I've recommended it to several other parents, and they all seem equally satisfied.
