I highly recommend Gigi daycare, especially for small kids who needs extra care and love while parents are away. We moved to the area when our son was 20 months old, and the first thing I noticed he was not getting sick as often at his previous daycare. Gigi is very knowledgeable about child behavior and development stages, she helped us (first time parents) to go through terrible two without stress. There was no bitting, screaming and tantrum period was short and relatively easy. They are a family oriented and adjust to your personal needs. When our second son was born, Gigi taught boys what it means to be a family, and created a strong bond between them. Since this is a mixed age group, younger kids naturally develop skills faster interacting with older peers, while older kids learning to be gentle with babies. As far as academics, they follow preschool programs and teach ABCs, numbers, shapes, working on scissors and glue...you name it. We don't speak English at home, so I can definitely tell boys developed their communication skills and academics at Gigi. In addition they teach Spanish too. Gigi Day care is a loving and nurturing place for children. Gigi has a planned schedule for the kids every day- whether its story time with "mother goose", projects that the kids bring home or dancing class- the children are always entertained and look forward to days at Gigi's! There are themed days where the children dress up, a summer party and almost every holiday is celebrated. My daughter has attended since she was 14 months, this is like a second home for her. The house is kept meticulously clean, there is a play area, an eating area for lunch and rooms for the kid's nap time. Gigi has a large side yard with lots of toys for the children to play in warmer weather. I feel so fortunate to have found Gigi Daycare. I started there with my little daughter 3 years ago and now with my baby boy 3 months old. I was so proud with my daughter development in Prek. They truly love, care and treat the children like they are their own. Your loving&caring home is the reason I feel comfortable being back to work and leaving a newborn with you. Finding the right childcare is hard. Leaving your kid with strangers is even harder. Enter: Gigi. There aren't enough words to express my gratitude towards her and her phenomenal staff. When it was time for my 18-month-old to start daycare, my husband and I looked all over Westchester. We toured large centers and small daycares, and usually left disappointed. Either the staff seemed dispassionate, the place felt like a sterile factory, the prices were exorbitant, or the waitlist exceeded a year. Until we stumbled across Gigi's. The second we met her, we knew we had found the right place. Her daycare feels homey, unpretentious, loving, and inclusive. We loved the small setting, her approach to childcare, and her wonderful personality. The fact that her staff has been with her for nearly a decade speaks volumes too. Within a few weeks, our daughter was thriving in her new routine and couldn't wait to get ready every morning. She made the sweetest little friends, her social skills, manners, and language ability exploded - she even picked up a bit of Spanish! I was very nervous about finding childcare for our first son born July of 2020 (mid COVID pandemic). But then we found Gigi's Daycare and all stress was gone! Our son started going to Gigis at 4 months old and I have been extremely grateful to know he has been in such good SAFE hands while we're working. Gigi and her incredible staff create a home away from home and I feel like they are an extension of our family. They say "it takes a village" which is SO true and any parent would be happy to have Gigi's Daycare as part of their village. I had the incredible experience of sending my daughter to Gigi's Day Care for 3 years. I would recommend Gigi's to anyone looking for a place to take the best possible care of your child. Gigi, and her amazing staff, always took incredible care of my daughter. She had an amazing combination of both a nurturing, loving environment and one that was academic in that it always taught my daughter things that I never thought she was ready to learn. Gigi's was always impeccably clean and sanitized. Whenever a child was sick, she took measures to sanitize in ways I have never seen before. My daughter was sick very infrequently as a result. Gigi will always be family to my family as she took care of my daughter as if her own and she taught her things that to this day set a foundation that equipped her so well for elementary school. read more

Parents search no longer for daycare if you live or work in the White Plains/Purchase area. When I was pregnant I visited "Bright Horizons" in White Plains and was determined that my baby would go there and I wouldn't have to worry about a thing. This place was the most expensive not to mention impressive but they put me on a waiting list 5 months before my son was expected and the application fee was non-refundable. I waited a week before my due date (10/6/09) and had to keep calling to find out if they had room for my son in early December when I was expected to return to work. I got the run around for weeks until I finally just gave up and looked into "Children's Corner" opposite side of 287 on Westchester Avenue. Equally impressive for the initial walk through and a bit cheaper but there are nothing but kids working there - especially in the infant rooms. None of my instructions were followed from day one with regards to eating/sleeping. My child was always sick with the runny nose, then a respiratory infection and an outbreak of coxsackie was the last straw when he was 9 months old. I was beside myself needing to work full time and in such turmoil over who can care for my son properly. I was discussing my situation with a coworker when she told me about Gigi and initially I was hesitant about "home daycare". I only wish now that I started my son with Gigi from day one. My son is now 2 yrs 3 months old and is thriving in so many areas. All of Gigi's kids are well mannered/behaved, smart, and above all HAPPY. They are loved and all treated like family..... You could eat off the floor and rest assured the ladies are not feeding the kids crap for lunch. Gigi takes ages 9 months - 4 yrs old and the hours are 8am - 5:30pm. There is a large fenced in yard for the kids to play outside in the warmer months and Mother Goose comes once a week for storytime. Go see for yourself - your child will thrive and will not want to go home when you come for pickup. read more
