03/12/20 THU 1130: So the weather was overcast and scattered thunderstorms for today's company luncheon with Nana's Kitchen. The event was scheduled to start at 11:30 and they were here at 9:00 a.m.! The set-up was awesome. You can tell they have been doing this forever - they arrived super early. Watching them in action was great. Her staff was fantastic, too!! The young man was funny and was super nice. It was entertaining to watch them pull this together so elegantly. When I was observing everyone while they were getting their plates, I noticed they had a nice system in place. They started with appetizers for everyone! Fantastic! There were three types of tostaditas, quesadillas and they had non-breaded jalapeno poppers - like mini Chile Relleños. Those were excellent. The best type of poppers! Looking at the table set-up was beautiful. They had authentic plateware and cookware as part of the table set-up. They had fresh made chips with red and green salsas, guacamole, onions, cilantro and Pico de Gallo. The beans and rice were delicious. We had three meats - chicken, pork and beef. Everything was delicious and everyone had so much fun. So happy everyone had seconds and thirds! We even had a lot of food left over!!! We will definitely keep her in our books and call them again for our next luncheon! read more

My 40th birthday party was a smashing success in no small part because of Nana's Kitchen and the amazing food and service we received. They arrived early, set up a beautiful spread, and were so delightful and friendly with our guests/friends. The food was incredible! And the appetizers, which initially I didn't think we even needed, were a total hit. At the end of their service, they packed up so quietly I hardly noticed them slipping out into the night. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Tip: We had them provide two agua frescas and horchata. I put out some tequila and rum, a few limes, and ice and it made for the simplest bar set-up. Easy! Nana's Catering was awsome! I had a last minute party for my son on December 2019 and James the owner made it happen! The tacos are delicious very authentic with hand made tortillas. My family is hard to please and they all loved the food. Not only the food was great but James customer service with our guest was awesome!! This will be the third time we have used Nana's Kitchen. So clearly, we love what they do. The food is fantastic, a step up from your normal taco caterer, and we loved the passed appetizers while the guests were arriving. They set up a beautiful buffet spread and used gorgeous bowls. Everything was fresh and delicous. They homemade the tortillas and served delicious guacomole, again homemade. The servers were ontime, self sufficant and cleaned up after themselves. They boxed up all of the leftovers for us which was really nice. The only negative I could find, and you just need to know, is that beyond the food/catering fee (minimum of $650 for 40 people) they charge a travel fee, a convenience fee to use a credit card, and a 18% service fee which is NOT gratuity. So ontop of the food, you will need to expect to pay about 40 % more on the charges (your own tip to the servers, their 18% service fee and travel fee and of course tax). They are transparent about it, but something you should know. With that being said, I would still use them again. read more

I first time got introduced to Nana's kitchen a few years ago in an event and loved their food so kept their contact info for the future. Fast forward to a couple days ago we had them for my children's birthday party at a playground. We not only did not have any problem with them in any step of the process but we actually had a smooth experience. They are very professional and responsible. Most of the communication was through email which made everything clear and detailed. On the day of event they arrived on-time, set up and cooked the food actually in the place. They set up a beautiful serving table with authentic Mexican serve-ware and everything tasted so good and high quality. We got so many compliments on the catering that day. Nana's just catered a work lunch celebration and everrrrrybody has been raving on and on over the food and the catering set up was top notch (see attached pics of salsa spread and sample plate!) The garnish and sides set up came with pico de gallo, 4 unique salsas, cilantro, onions, rice, limes, and grilled jalapenos filled with melted cheese (spicy!). Main dishes included cheese & green chile or beef tamales, cheese taquitos, quesadillas, beef, pork, chicken tacos, and pork or beef mulitas (I think, they were like open-faced mulitas) with cheese and topped with delicious black beans. The tortillas were all hand made on site and were, in the words of a coworker "BOMB!" Nana was totally friendly and all of her staff was incredibly competent, helpful and friendly as well. Had a huge pool party at my house and had Them cater the food. They had a team of 3 to cater us and all my guest were very happy with the taste and quality of the food. They arrive 1.5 hours in advance and started serving on time and left us plenty of leftovers. Compared to the last company I used which basically sent 1 guy to do everything including cooking and serving, you could see the difference. Their table spread pictured on yelp looked very nice where the food was served in clay plates compared to others who put the salsa, rice, etc. in aluminum or paper plates.
