    Flautas

This place delicious food and drinks and reasonable price for the amount of food you receive. The service is always friendly and the ambiance is simple, but feels like a Mexican restaurant! My favorite usually is the Molcajete Bowl with chicken, potatoes, cheese, and onions & peppers in a lava bowl, served with soft tortillas. However on this visit I tried the Flautas. They were delicious, but I added some salsa to them and that made them better. The rice is good and different, because they have Lima beans and corn in it.

My wife and I come here often and usually have a good meal. On our last visit the food was ok but not like before. First the service was ok with one waitress serving the entire restaurant, but she did a good job getting the food out and did come by our table a couple of times asking if we were ok. I ordered the beef chimichanga and when it arrived it ended up being a chicken chimichanga. It tasted all right but I would had preferred beef. My wife ordered chicken deluxe enchiladas and forgot to ask for green sauce. The red red sauce on her enchiladas was really sweet and she couldn't eat them. We ended up switching each others meal which was fine with me. Anyway as I stated earlier this was the first time we had issues with our food and will be returning.

The dining room was completely empty when we came in, but the staff was so nice and welcoming! My husband and I got the steak Faijtas and the enchilada supreme. My husband loved the enchiladas, and I enjoyed the fajitas. However they did seem slightly over salted and a found a couple pieces of chicken which concerned me on how close proteins are to each other. Otherwise a great place to get Mexican food! Also the chips and salsa were great!

I will admit that the food here is OUTSTANDING but the service is Horribly Horribly Slow. We walked in on a Saturday around 4pm and sat at a table and within about 30 seconds we had chips and salsa - ( the salsa is dynomite ) but after that we didn't get a server for almost 15 minutes and it probably took another 15 to get our order in. Needless to say this wasn't a very good first impression. Once our food finally arrived we were almost ready to walk out but we didn't. First off the food looked excellent and the taste was incredible. The tamale was outstanding as well as the beef enchiladas. My wife & daughters fajitas were stellar. If the service matched the food quality this location would be a top notch mexican joint.

O.M.G This is The Best Mexican I have ever had in my life! There were 4 of us and none of us had ever eaten here and all of us Raved over the food Had leftovers (2 men, 2 ladies)! We had the fajita salad, (choice of chicken or steak), the taco salad (choice of ground beef chicken or steak. Both came in the most crispy, light, delicious, fresh *Baked* taco bowl! We were confused as we both got the chicken, the server explained the fajita is pieces, the taco one is shredded. Also ordered were the chicken fajitas and the burrito, taco, tostada combo. As stated every portion was so much, we all had leftovers. But I ate the whole shell bowl as I was worried it would not be as delicious later. All the guac, lettuce, tomatoes, etc were all super fresh. If they make a dessert with that salad shell, I'm in!! And I should mention the lunches M-F are $10-$11!

August 11, 2023 Alejandro, server & owner was, is always SOOO sweet, attentive & makes sure customers are satisfied. No mistakes of the order, not a single one. Birria tacos, hard shell - this place has NEVER had me go home feeling disappointed with the food. I added almost everything you could & I have zero regrets. These TYPICALLY come in soft shell, I asked if hard shells were a possibility. THANK GOODNESS THEY WERE. VERY GOOD speed to serve post order. Juicy, zingy, flavor perfection.

A few weeks ago, a group of us stopped in for dinner. The hostess greeted/seated us promptly, and our server was quick to take our food/drink orders. The restaurant was clean, orderly, and staff were taking the necessary Covid-19 preparations. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but is colorful, fun, and lively upon entering. The restaurant provides complimentary chips and salsa, which were delicious; however, our server was slow to maintain refills for our party of 10. We ordered a margarita ($6) that arrived in an extra-large mug and was potent enough for my wife and me to share. We also ordered the Fajitas Texanas ($17.15) with extra tortillas. The Fajitas Texanas are also enough for two people to share. We were happy with the Fajitas Texans; the dish includes a large sizzling skillet filled with steak, chicken, shrimp, peppers, and onions. Accompanying the dinner item is a large side plate of refried beans, rice, black beans, sour cream, and guacamole. Overall, everyone at our party enjoyed their meal and the customer service provided. I would recommend dining here if you are in the area and looking for some great Mexican food.

Service was excellent so were the drinks. But we had sited almost 1 hr first the food! If it wasn't for the chips we would of left. It wasn't worth the wait. My fajitas shrimp and beef were burnt to the crisp and extremely greasy ! This shouldn't happen to their staple dish. I ate half because I was starving but I won't be back to eat here I didn't give a 1 because the server had no fault and the drinks weee good. Look at my picture

One thing Orange City doesn't lack is Mexican restaurants. Just north of Saxon there are two Mexican places across the street from each other and head a few miles further on 17-92 and you'll find 2-3 more. So far Fiesta Grande has my top vote for consistency and taste (though we recently started trekking up to Garcia's which is also in my top 3). The dining area is brightly lit and spacious though the wooden booths can be a bit uncomfortable. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. They seem to have great happy hour and drink specials (I don't drink but others sound like they're impressed) It's your standard Americanized Mexican with a few attempts at more authentic dishes like the molcajete and moles. Their ground beef is moist but not super flavorful outside of the other toppings you get with it. I do love their flautas which come out crispy with those lovely bits of deep fried meat peeking out at the ends. Their guacamole is well seasoned and looks fresh (or at least not browning). The tortilla chips are generally fresh and they have a hotter salsa you can request that makes a delicious dip when mixed with their house salsa. Is it amazing? No, but it's consistently good food and nice atmosphere so right now it's the best that I've found in

This was really good authentic Mexican food! Service was prompt and the food came out super quick. I got the Mighty Burrito and it came with chips and salsa, which was a big and satisfying meal overall. Everything was very tasty and very affordable as well. They had free Wi-Fi too which was nice, and had good Spanish music playing. Definitely worth a trip if you are in the area.

Once you step inside you are greeted with artwork on all the walls and just a well decorated space. In no manner does it make you question if this is a Mexican restaurant. Menu wise they have everything you would expect plus some you wouldn't including burgers and some kid options that are in no way Mexican food. It is great to include these for those picky eaters to not be left out but I recommend even those people should give something more authentic a try. Drink wise they have all the non-alcoholic options plus cocktails and beers too. My wife snagged a Pina Colada and I got a jalapeño margarita. Pina Colada was fantastic and the margarita was solid with many jalapeños cut up in the drink but didn't have as much of a spicy kick that I expected. Food wise I got their Enchiladas Mi Bandera (basically three different meats and three different sauces) and my wife got the Chimichangas Norteñas (large). Service wise was definitely the lacking aspect of our visit. Minimal check ins from our server with an extremely long wait for food especially compared to similar restaurants. Also my wife asked about the size of their chimichangas and was told roughly half the actual size so went with two. I did enjoy her leftovers though but was crazy how off they were on the size. Portions are definitely large for many of their dishes including the giant burrito another family member got, absolutely massive. Food was good, (have had better) with lacking service in an awesome designed restaurant. Overall middle of the road and would check other spots nearby before returning.

Well I finally stopped by today for a quick lunch. I was greeted when I walked in and sat down. The place was much smaller on the inside than I expected but I absolutely loved the colors and decor around the restaurant. I was brought complimentary chips and salsa to the table. The salsa was good. I ordered a chili relleno, it came with rice and refried beans. The food came out fast. Everything I had was pretty good. Nothing that grabbed me as I must have again. For the cost it was though, I would happily try it again for lunch and work my way around the menu.

We stuck strictly to tacos, and honestly, it was hit or miss depending on your taste. I ordered the pastor and chorizo. The pastor had decent flavor but could have been juicier. The chorizo was a letdown for me -- it had a pasty consistency, almost like refried beans, and was heavy on potatoes, which wasn't what I was hoping for. I also tried a hard shell pastor supreme, expecting an authentic house-fried tortilla, but it reminded me more of what you'd get at Taco Bell. My husband went with carne asada, chicharrón, and chicken. The carne asada was juicy but the flavor just didn't hit the way I expected. The chicken was good but came shredded. The chicharrón had solid flavor -- I just personally struggle with the texture, though that one's on me since I knew going in! One thing all the tacos had in common: the meat portions felt too small for the size of the tortillas. Personally, I wouldn't classify this as truly authentic Mexican, but that's just my palate. My husband, on the other hand, loved everything -- so clearly taste is subjective! Don't just take my word for it. Give this place a try yourself and form your own opinion. It may not have been for me, but it just might be for you!
