I really wanted to love this agency but it didn't end that way. I reached out, did a 10-minute intro call with Lucy, then a 30-minute interview which went amazingly well. I answered all the "scenario" questions which Lucy was impressed with, and it all seemed great. I then was scheduled to speak with Jo, and that also went well. I was told when Lucy gets back into work the next day, we would be able to move forward. I was excited! Then a day later Lucy sends me a message saying they would not be able to move forward with me. It just made no sense. As first time parents attempting to navigate the competitive world of hiring a nanny for our child in a new city, we invested our trust (and thousands of dollars) in Nannies by Noa expecting to be taken care of. Instead, our experience left us without a nanny and feeling deeply taken advantage of. A warning to all potential first time clients, A vital detail that Nannies by Noa is cadgey about: Their hefty agency fee which is a percentage of nanny's YEARLY salary (which is paid up front) is NOT a guarantee for Nannie's yearly employment. We enlisted the help of Nannies by Noa because they promote that they only work with "career Nannie's", professionals interested in long term employment which is why we were comfortable paying this fee instead of hiring a random part time babysitter. However to our surprise, our nanny put her notice in just days after the 90 day clause in the contract, precisely when Nannies by Noa is no longer responsible for finding us a replacement. When we brought this to the owners attention, instead of being met with understanding and compassion as we had been treated with before, we were met with an e-mail that was defensive, self-justifying and dogmatic. We were informed that we'd have to pay the agency fee all over again. Thousands and thousands of dollars. Our budget was for 1 year, not for 3 months of work so that wasn't an option for us. I feel responsable to warn all of you who are in the fence of investing. We appreciate that situations change, maybe nanny's intentions were to stay with us for the year, maybe they weren't. Regardless, if Nannie's by Noa claims this to be a "rare situation", they (in a show of good faith and good business) should have offered to find us a replacement - two things they are clearly not interested in. I'm sure they will defend themselves in their response below as they did in their email to us. We know that many of you reading this are in the same position so please be mindful of this advantageous agency loophole. You're better off finding someone through referrals or Facebook parenting groups. read more

I recently read a review on how horrible this service was but I figured, why not try it anyways because that person could just be wrong. I will be as honest as possible. Noa does a decent job at responding to the emails, applications. When I sent my resume, I got a fast response back. However when I had to choose an interview time, I never got confirmation until a day before the interview which kept me on the edge a little. The reason I was on edge was because I was left wondering if I even had an interview that day or not and I can't plan anything because I might have an interview so it was a little hard just not getting a fast response on the confirmation of the interview. I liked the application process because it was detailed. The interview was horrible, I walked in to find out a young teenager was going to interview me, which was fine because she seemed nice. I was expecting more professionalism from the interviewee. I was expecting questions about my experience, what my hobbies are, just questions to get to know me personally as a nanny. My interview was five minutes. The questions asked were, "How many kids are you comfortable watching, are you working right now, and did you graduate college?" Those are all questions on the application already and I was hoping they would have looked at my resume or something to already know this information. That was it, my interview was done and she said they would be in contact within 1-5 days. I email Noa just to follow up and she politely tells me I am not fit for their company. I'm not upset I just like getting feedback so I know what to do in the future. I ask her to explain. She emails back, it's your personality. With this email, I'm slightly offended because I'm like, did I do something wrong? I'm a pretty nice person. (haha) I emailed back because I don't believe you can get to know someone within five minutes of asking them three questions in an interview. The interviewee had no idea on what questions to ask me about my experience, she was inexperienced. Noa then emails back saying my resume isn't impressive and I don't have experience in teaching, working with special kids, or working at camps. I start to laugh after reading this email because at this point I am so stunned because if the interviewee would have asked, she would have known that I did have experience working with special kids and teaching. Noa did offer to send a second interviewee to me but seriously why would I want to work for a company like this. Overall, I'm not mad I didn't get any jobs from Nannies by Noa, I just don't like how unprofessional they are with their staff. To have me waste my time and not even take the interview seriously, it's upsetting. To ridicule me as a person through emails, of course I will stick up for myself because I know my strengths and capabilities. Just save your time and find a nannying job through Sittercity or Care or other nannying services. I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I went through. It's a waste of time. read more

I have not had a good experience with Nannies by Noa. I sent in my resume for a position and was contacted right away by Noa. I then had a phone interview and then a Skype interview with one of her recruiters and after that, I never heard back from them. I was told by the recruiter that she was going to put in her recommendation for me and that I'd hear back from someone and I never did. I sent multiple emails and made multiple phone calls and never heard a thing until yesterday (making it over 4 weeks after my Skype interview). I had reached out on the website again and was emailed back saying they had no history of my information. Seriously? I was then told to email Noa personally and she asked for me to re-send my resume (which I did) and then I never heard from her again. I don't know any agency that runs their business like this. I have worked with two other agencies in NY which are AMAZING but this one is just awful. I have over 8 years of experience and have worked with a high profile family and was looking for a new position but I will not be attempting to work with them again. They need some help with communication, professionalism and organization because they clearly lack in that department. read more
