Yes, I've been to Amsterdam and this looks just like them. That's because the Zwaanendael Museum was designed to honor the city hall in Hoorn, Netherlands. The museum exhibits the history and settlement of the southern coast of Delaware. I thought the train lines were very interesting as well as the Delftware on display. Perhaps you missed that Lewes was bombarded by the British during the War of 1812 (there's a house with a cannonball not far away). The museum is free but definitely accepts donations. We mainly went to watch the otters (Mac & Tuck) and stayed for their feeding time at noon. The staff did a short talk while they ate fish and played. There were some beautiful carved decoys - many with "best in the world" blue ribbons. They had a scavenger hunt with a sticker reward for finding all the things on the clipboard. Some beautiful murals, lots of old photos of the area and boats; and a gift shop with great books, toys, jewelry, and gifts. I got my Mom a hand carved humming bird by a local artist.

We walked around the town, and learned of many stores that were known to be haunted. She also took us to a house known to be the spookiest house. I definitely felt energy being there. We tried opening one door to a random building, but it was locked and we don't even know if that was a building that we were supposed to go to. We stood outside, taking photos as we did not want to interrupt any businesses or homes nearby. Great history. Set in a World War II era hangar, the museum has over 25 historic plans, jets, helicopters, exhibits, artifacts, and more! It also memorializes the 42 naval aviators who died while training at this facility. The museum is pet friendly and dogs must be on a leash. A really cool thing to do is to go inside some of the planes and sit in the cockpit! We met a staff member, Bethany, who was fun to talk to about the museum and its features. This is a great spot to visit any day, and especially when the weather is not cooperating, since it is all indoors.
