It's a 40 min+ drive to get there but worth the time and money! They charge very fair rates and care for your animals as if they were their own. We added a female puppy as a companion to our male and she was unfortunately sickly. She had parvo and fought worms a few different times. They educated us and helped us nurse her back to a healthy, stout, happy dog without charging us outstanding prices. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.

Later on in Jan/Feb 2025 timeframe I noticed her employees were never there. Owner had her very young son in the grooming area 3 times looking dirty and tired. My pup isn't trustworthy with small children unfortunately. I mentioned this and the owner said, "well he needs to learn how to act around dogs". I didn't like that answer but also empathize with working moms so I continued to support her business. My last visit was a disaster. I scheduled a week in advance, the toddler boy was there again and yet another new employee. 6 hours later he still wasn't groomed fully groomed just bathed. I went to get my pup because I don't want him locked up all day. I mentioned I don't like him being kenneled all day without potty breaks and water. She claimed to walk the dogs when they are with her all day. I didn't believe that to be true because she was watching her son and grooming with a new hire and her husband. If she didn't have time to groom my dog in 6 hours how would she have time to walk him? Furthermore they forgot to use my shampoo (the shampoo they use smells terrible to me and gives my pup dandruff) she said her husband forgot to use my shampoo. Her husband isn't a groomer and I didn't like that random people were working with my pup. The prices are about 30% hire than other groomers and I always tip $20.00 but I later learned the tips are not given to groomers. Dog House was once an excellent groomer/ boarder but the employee turnover and tip controversy and long groom times and very young children walking loose just are not acceptable to me. I wish them well, but they must treat employees with respect and pay better attention to client requests.

Located in the Nimitz/Jumping Branch Area. The personnel, from vets, to techs, to reception, have been uniformly kind and professional. They take their jobs seriously, and truly care for animals. They have several cats as mascots roaming the building! Our cats have boarded there twice with zero issues, both times for 5-7 days while we were on vacation. So far we have only needed routine care, checkups, vaccines, etc. Prices seem extremely reasonable to me, coming from DC. We are very happy with them!

While visiting family, having traveled from another state, two of our dogs began vomiting so often our 6 yr lab had bloody emesis and the whites of her eyes turned red. Our 3 yr Belgian Mali's was pink tinged. They couldn't keep water or the go-to white rice and broth down. While they are so busy they cannot accept new patients right now, they got us in emergently. Treated promptly . Injections and oral meds for the day after. Suspicious bad treats given night prior. This vet deserves an award for Best Vet EVER! My dogs are on the mend and we came home with detailed care instructions and how to get some excess weight off our lab. If I lived in the rural Nimitz area, I would get on her wait list to get my dogs under her care. And Connie at the front desk and Sarah her tech and or so many more were great with my dogs. Was told they would have to send his head into a lab for rabies testing. My cat was 10 yrs old, a house cat and well cared for and never missed a rabies shot or other recommended vaccinations. He died in seizure in my arms while being transported to another vet.

They let my daughters dog suffer for 2 days until we took him to a better vet that didn't sugar coat anything and was 110% honest. My daughter has to put her dog down and had she known 2 days prior she would not have let him suffer. This clinic is horrible

Since we discovered this place about 5 years ago, we have never looked for another place to board…read moreour dogs. When we pick them up, they are always balanced with none of the regular issues after boarding. They aren't locked up all day in a crate, they are clean. They get plenty of "run and play" time, they get to socialize with the other dogs and most importantly, they just get to be dogs. If you aren't sure, take them out there for a day of doggy daycare and see how it goes. I won't leave my dogs anywhere else.
