The first morning they tested the concrete floor for moisture -- there was quite a bit coming from underneath -- and then applied a heavy coat of Bone Dry, which they left to dry until the next day. Then the fun began -- at least for me! -- as each man did his part of the various processes, which included edging along the walls and between sections of the existing concrete, carefully spreading the first layer of a special paint, and spreading the colorful flakes (I don't know what they're made of). More layers to keep everything in place and another to prevent slippage. The result is incredible, worth the effort on my end, and well worth every cent. It's now very much like an enclosed patio.
