Nice place to stop at Oxbow Public Market. Love their cute tea towels. People I want to meet. Just gonna set that dirty dish in the sink and call it a day, huh?? So funny. Great for a quick stop at the market.

An adorable hidden gem! This place is perfect for kids and adults altogether. The bookstore has a children area with carpet, a mini cafe with seats, and a gift section. It's a great get away from the busyness of downtown. Staff is friendly as well.

We went walked in right after their power went out. The staff kindly informed us that it was out but assured us it would be back shortly. They were super welcoming and the energy inside seemed light as with the customers. Staff were very nice. On their cafe side I ordered the matcha & passionfruit tonic, it was not very sweet. It was refreshing with a little bit of a bitter aftertaste taste.

I really enjoy going to Napa Bookmine. They have a great selection of books and I can always count on someone there to help me find whatever I'm looking for. On a couple of occasions they've ordered a book in for me and shipping is so quick, I just pick it up a few days later. Their new store is across the back of the police station on 3rd street under the new condo's, it's such a fun space WITH a coffee bar! There's also seating too. It's always a treat visiting.

Whenever I travel - I always have to visit any local bookstore so I was very excited when I found out that Napa Bookmine had two locations - a brick and mortar building and a smaller stall in the Oxbow Market. The brick and mortar bookstore - let's just say I could have spent the whole day browsing through all of their shelves. They sell both new and used books and they have a really great selection. I was able to find multiple books to take home and add to my collection. They have everything from non fiction to cookbooks to almost every genre of fiction. Seriously it was such a beautiful store full of books! I love the employee recommendations and even ended up geabbing one of those. The lady who rang me and my friend up was very friendly and she even had some great recommendations on places that we could visit for the rest of our visit. We ended up browsing through the stall they have at the Oxbow Market and they did have a good selection there but if you are looking for a great bookstore experience - make sure to go to the actual store itself.

Books that I purchased today.

California is one of four states that were independent sovereign nations before joining the United States and you get a bonus point if you can name all four. Answer below. The Sonoma Barracks aka the Presidio of Sonoma is free to visit and includes a number of rooms with captions and memorabilia that detail the history of the Bear Flag Republic of California, their independence from Mexico and eventually, their joining the Union. The breakaway state lasted from June 14 to July 9 1846, was never recognized by the United States, never formed a government or passed any laws and while Sonoma was the "Capital", it was never official. There are some docents who can answer questions, an organized tour is available and they have a small gift shop. (The answer to the question of which four states were independent. 1. California which you already know now. 2. The Long Star State, aka Texas, obviously. 3. Hawaii, of course. 4. And the one most people don't know? It's Vermont who were not one of the original Thirteen Colonies. Independent from 1777 to 1791 though never recognized by any other nations.)
