My first time visiting this area so we tried Naples for brunch. We arrived at 1030 on a Sunday for our reservation and it was very empty. The atmosphere was nice, kind of like a tavern. Our server mark was fantastic! He was friendly and attentive. He probably gave me four refills of coffee! He was great and the reason for 4 stars because the food was mediocre. I got the French toast and a side of bacon. The French toast wasn't cooked enough for me and was the most basic French toast that I could make at home. It was okay, definitely would not recommend or get again. The bacon was crispy and delicious and my favorite part of the meal. I would not recommend for brunch. read more

Stopped today for lunch and what a treat. Great service, clean, nice atmosphere. Started with garlic parm boneless wings which were crispy and delicious. My husband ordered a small boardwalk pizza and I ordered a pizza steak on a seeded roll with house made potato chips. All was delicious. We stopped by here once for a slice of pizza to go on our way home for an event and it was so good we had to come back! The restaurant itself is very nicely designed, it's giving modern farmhouse. When we came in, the place was packed. Our waitress greeted us and gave us the specials and menus. I ordered just a Pepsi and my Husband ordered the Naples Lager by Bonesaw. It took a very long time to get our drinks, and my husbands beer was pretty flat, probably like 10 minutes. We waited another 10 minutes to place our order. I got the Pizza Pizzazz. It was good, but not as good as the last time when we had it to go. I also got a Lemon Drop martini which was average and my husband got the espresso martini which was also pretty average. The waitress brought out the Mille Foglie cake to go like we asked, where I devoured it on the way home in the car. This was the best part of the meal. Overall, this is a pretty good place for pizza. The pizza Pizzazz was extremely unique and something you don't see at most pizza places and the cake was to die for. My friend and I were in for lunch. When the check came, the prices were higher than what was printed on the menu. When I questioned the server, she immediately said that the prices are subject to change. I understand this, but if that is the case, update your menus before charging the customer. I asked to speak to the owner or manager, and no one came to our table. The server apologized, but did not change the check. The waitress did a terrible job.. she forgot the serving utensil for our pizza, and got the order wrong. the service was really terrible.. she took a really long time to even get our food even our drinks. Didn't check in for refills on drinks either. After a very long time, she came back and ask me what type of sandwich i wanted when i already told her sausage with broccoli rabe Italiano. she tried to swap out with another sandwich and i asked her what was in the one she was trying to switch but she couldn't tell me what was in it. i didn't get what I originally ordered. While the food was good and our served Elena was excellent, the place was extremely loud, the management would not make any accommodations for seating a partial group (while waiting for others to arrive), and would not allow us to split up the check individually or by small group. I have been to this place many times, it's in town and convenient. The food isn't that great but service is good. Every time, the food is way too salty. I love this place, I just wish it was closer to home, but worth the drive. This is my second time, and won't be the last. My wife and I both had chicken dishes. I had chicken fumigato both times-awesome! Both were great. What sets this place apart from most other restaurants is the chicken. It is not pounded thin and heavily breaded. We found this place a couple months ago & have been back 2-3 times since. we're bar floozies, almost never sit at a table anymore except for BYOs. Really nice bar with a good vibe. Full disclosure; I should qualify the 5 Star rating because we've only done bar food in our previous visits. Haven't ordered a full dinner yet but will next time in. I waved to a friend while inside and he walked up. The large man at the door immediately started yelling at him as if was a child who wrecked dads vintage car. My friend Simply walked up to the door while the guy was taking reservations. I said nothing at this point. My friend said he's with us. Points in door. The large man at the door then looks at me and berating me saying he'll physically throw me "out the fucking door" if I don't like it, along with other acts of aggression. You want to change the subject and add a new flavor to the mix like someone wants special treatment? Where did this come from. You might want to ask your staff to not threaten physical violence on people, if you want to operate a business to a civilized society.. Edit to add to your comment on another person from that night. Naples is my go-to place for a drink, and has by far the best food in town. Sandy and Stephanie are the two main bartenders, and both are consistently excellent despite often dealing with a heavily crowded bar. The waitstaff are all attentive and friendly, and the drinks are much better than you expect to find in New Jersey. If you're looking for a rowdy college bar atmosphere, you're better off heading toward Rowan or Philly, but every small town needs the small town bar, and Naples is the gold standard for that. Food: 4 / 5 - You probably won't discover anything groundbreaking, but the food is properly cooked and well-seasoned (extremely rare in NJ restaurants) and you'll almost always get exactly what you were hoping for. (Every restaurant plugs their cheesesteak egg rolls, but Naples are hands-down my favorite) Drinks: 4 / 5 - I appreciate the local loyalty of stocking almost exclusively NJ wines, but NJ wines are terrible. That said, the cocktail of the day is almost always delicious, and the martinis are inventive without becoming sugary messes. Service: 5 / 5 - Whether it's one customer or fifty, the staff are professional, quick, and attentive. They all know their jobs, and execute their jobs. Random fact you must know: Their homemade caesar dressing is fantastic. You should probably somehow incorporate that dressing into your meal. It's not that dark and watery crap. It's a legit thick/creamy dressing. Naples was pretty good on a recent visit. I ordered the crispy chicken salad -- originally with honey mustard but I later added the caesar after trying my mom's wrap dressing. Also tried a slice of their gourmet Chicken Cheddar pie. Salad: Good! It almost reminded me of that one salad I used to get at Applebee's back in the day. Fried chicken salad? Yes. That. Very similar. Nice portion size too. Pizza: Eh. I was not a fan of it. Even in my posted photo, it looks pretty sad. The flavors just didn't meld together well. Plus, it seemed far too thick for its crust. I have heard positive opinions from others about their gourmet/traditional options, so maybe I just picked the wrong choice. Fair warning, if you don't order a dinner meal but request rolls, you'll be charged $0.40 per roll. Interesting pricing, but I get it. Rolls are very good. Naples is pretty solid for Italian-American fare in the area...in fact it's probably my first choice for an unpretentious place to get some classic red-sauce dishes, because things are consistently made and always taste fresh, not too oily or greasy. One must-have is their fried calamari. Love it here. Nice and crisp, with a hearty serving of their good marinara and plenty of fried hot pepper slices, too. The dinner rolls are fresh, salads basic but always crisp and well-chilled. I recently had a dinner special of a half-roast "Italian" chicken which was delicious; super-moist and tender. In the past I've also enjoyed their shellfish/seafood dishes, and classics like veal or chicken parm are generous and just what you'd be craving. Only thing that's sometimes been a bit of a miss are the steaks; sometimes very good, other times a bit tough and chewy. All told this is not a place for gourmet or fancy Italian, but I appreciate how clean, fresh and well-prepared meals typically are. But recently when I went there the hostess at the front did not acknowledge our party or even say be with you in a minute. We frequent Philadelphia restaurants and this definitely doesn't happen.
