Chicken cheesesteak with fried onions on a seeded roll
    Abigail g.

Did a quick take out order with some friends. Solid choice for pizza and a cheese steak. I was able to choose with or without seeds for the roll. Hefty serving of the good crunchy crunchfries with it. The place looks actually really cute for a bite out. Will be back to try some drinks

Peach mimosa which was really tasty, actually my favorite part of the meal.
    Debbie C.

The service was good, my peach mimosa was delicious. The truffle tots were meh and the meatball parmigiana sandwich was bland....it's not a good sign when you have to grab the salt shaker. Pretty pricy for a sandwich that didn't have any taste that same with a bag of chips as the side.

I chose The Olive because none of us had ever been there before and I wanted it that way so we all shared the same experience without any expectations of previous visits. I looked at several options and decided on The Olive solely upon Yelp reviews. I take this app very seriously, and have been with Yelp for many years. We were seated right away and forgive me I didnt catch my servers name because there was enough noise all around that made it a little harder for us to hear but it really wasn't intrusive or a major problem. We all could hear each other and thats all that mattered. Our server took our drink order and my oldest daughter ordered a peach sangria that served atcleast 4 people, it came in a bag with a little valve, but there was no fruit, just peach flavored semi sweet wine. It was, tasty but not traditional, would've been great if it had some peaches and a couple berries, but I made a mental note to not order next time. We ordered 2 orders of the bang bang shrimp, 1 order of fried zuicchini and an order of 5 mini crabcakes served with a butter dipping sauce, and it all was absolutely delicious! The shrimp was moderately spicy with a killer sticky sauce coating it, sweet and piping hot, the zuicchini super hot and crunchy served with the most delicious marinara sauce, the crabcakes were lump crabmeat and we were off to a delicious start!!! Our server then took our orders, and myself and my niece ordered the seafood supreme, LUMP CRAB, scallops and shrimp in an Alfredo sauce over linguine done totally on point and saucy, a very delicious Alfredo made right!! My oldest daughter had broiled sea scallops, perfectly cooked with a baked potato and house vegetable medley, my son in law had clams in white clam sauce, but here is where they could've done better as,far as quantity of clams, they only gave him 6 little necks in shells, 8 would've been better however it was completely delicious!!! My daughter ordered the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes but the potatoes weren't that great however, that steak was char broiled to perfection, 16 oz and one that will become memorable because of its intense deliciousness and char flavor, my nieces boyfriend had pasta in marinara that was beyond delicious! Their pasta fajiola soup was to die for, we all had house salads that came with the meal, and overall this restaurant really delivered!! Hot rolls and butter and dipping oil came with the table, and The Olive delivered in every aspect and exceeded our expectations!! Service, decor, cleanliness and overall experience made all of us agree we would highly recommend this restaurant, it was very busy, hard working efficient servers, friendly managers, and staff, we look forward to our next visit! Bravooo Olive!!! Prices, are absolutely fair, menu has something for everyone!!! Steaks, pasta dishes, seafood, all made to perfection!! You must not miss this place on your next dining out plans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy!!!!

The Olive - Sewell, NJ…read more We went to The Olive on a Saturday night and left feeling disappointed. Our server rushed the entire meal -- salad came out before the appetizer, and before we could finish the calamari, our entrées were already on the table. The calamari and marinara were actually very good, but my entrée missed the mark. I ordered the filet pieces with fettuccini, and while the cream sauce was flavorful, the filet was extremely tough and not enjoyable. The combination of rushed service and a poorly prepared entrée made the experience less than ideal. Unfortunately, we wouldn't plan on returning.

The locals on Google Maps kept talking about two things: the happy hour and the cannolis. That sounded like a pretty good game plan, so we jumped in. Our fantastic bartender pointed us toward three happy hour favorites: Botto's Orange Crush - a refreshing 16-ounce glass of sunshine for just $7. Mussels in red sauce - huge, flavorful, and completely addictive. Sorry, Jen... I wasn't sharing. Filet sliders - tender, juicy, and absolutely incredible. Then came dessert. While we were debating the famous cannolis, Henry--who was greeting everyone and wearing a chef's coat--told us, "Skip the cannoli. Get the tiramisu." I replied, "But Google Maps says the cannoli!" Henry didn't flinch. "Trust me. Tiramisu." He was right. It may have been one of the best tiramisus I've had. As I write this, I realize I failed in my duties as an investigative food reporter. I should've ordered the cannoli too, just so I could compare the two. Looks like I'll have to make another trip. Sometimes the best food adventures happen when you weren't planning them. Botto's delivered great food, great drinks, friendly people, and a reason to come back. Highly recommended!

The raviolis were nice and tender but the so called Italian sausage was out of some reject package. Tasteless! The Cesar salad was nice sized but some of the cheese looked like it was sitting around for a week (hard and chewy) the eggplant parmigiana was decent but the lack luster sauce killed it. The real surprise was the OVER PRICED tag for this nursing home food! The only star of the meal was the cannoli Next time we go it will be for coffee and dessert...avoid eating here - NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!

La Sicilia is one of those special places and I arrived to eat dinner because they were helping someone I know. There was no research involved and I was surprised to discover how close I live to this primarily takeout pizzeria/restaurant with a smiling and welcoming staff. I really did not know how small the dining area is at La Sicilia but there was room for myself and my friend Joe to enjoy a dinner to help others. Joe went the Chicken Parm dinner route but I went for pizza and "wings" (Chicken wings for those not in the know.). I did ask the staff whether their wings were any good and I was assured that people like them. We watched pleasant interactions with customers coming in for takeout, including a few people I know who chose to come to La Sicilia. First the good ... Joe reported that he REALLY liked the chicken Parm. He liked it so much that he ordered a take out Chicken Parm to bring home for his wife. I spoke with some friends who like me only came to support the fundraiser. One told me, "I told the men in my family we are changing pizzerias because the pizza at La Sicilia's is soooo good!" Another thdnkef me (As if I had anything to do with creating the food.) for telling them about the event because they plan to start coming to La Sicilia's for their pizza. I ordered "The Don" specialty pizza probably because of the website photo but also it sounded really good. It was "fine" and I enjoyed it. I am picky about pizza but next time (And, there will be a next time.) I will try a different pizza. Now as for the WINGS. First they asked "Ranch or Blue Cheese" never ever Ranch!! A big plus when they arrived was noting that the wings were not breaded. They were crisp and juicy but the fried wings were not coated with sauce in the kitchen instead they were plopped in a puddle of Frank's sauce on my plate. I ate every last wing but ... A big thank you for caring about people in need and due to that there are new regulars at La Sicilia's!!

**FOR THE ICE CREAM SIDE ONLY**…read more Nah....this aint it. We stopped in yesterday to get some ice cream, and it did NOT go well. First, it's cash only, so we were only able to get something for my daughter. Second, we order the ice cream, and at that point, they tell us that they never turned on the soft serve machine, so we had to wait 10 minutes to get anything. Third, when the ice cream DID show up, it was literal soup. But at that point my daughter saw it, so there was no saying no and going somewhere else, although we absolutely should have. No discount, nothing. Fourth, speaking of discount, the cup of soup was $5.02, which is a weirdly specific number. And after all the wait, and then serving us gazpacho instead of ice cream, they really, REALLY wanted that 2 cents when all my wife had was a 5 dollar bill. We had to go digging in the babies bag to find a random nickel. The LEAST they could have done was been like, "don't worry about the literal 2 cents." Also, pricing is weird: the menu says soft serve pricing is by the "CONE," yet they charge you extra for a CONE. dafuq? We got a small chocolate soft serve, $3.10. We asked for the cone to be placed in a cup because my daughter is 5. Chocolate jimmies, add .80, then another .80 for a sugar cone, which is SOMEHOW NOT included in the price. Anyone who knows this area knows that you can't swing a cat without hitting an ice cream shoppe, so there is NO way we're coming back here.
