I just love businesses that give back to their communities!! It's a reflection of an ownership that actually understands that people matter!! La Sicilia is one of those special places and I arrived to eat dinner because they were helping someone I know. There was no research involved and I was surprised to discover how close I live to this primarily takeout pizzeria/restaurant with a smiling and welcoming staff. I really did not know how small the dining area is at La Sicilia but there was room for myself and my friend Joe to enjoy a dinner to help others. Joe went the Chicken Parm dinner route but I went for pizza and "wings" (Chicken wings for those not in the know.). I did ask the staff whether their wings were any good and I was assured that people like them. We watched pleasant interactions with customers coming in for takeout, including a few people I know who chose to come to La Sicilia. First the good ... Joe reported that he REALLY liked the chicken Parm. He liked it so much that he ordered a take out Chicken Parm to bring home for his wife. I spoke with some friends who like me only came to support the fundraiser. One told me, "I told the men in my family we are changing pizzerias because the pizza at La Sicilia's is soooo good!" Another thdnkef me (As if I had anything to do with creating the food.) for telling them about the event because they plan to start coming to La Sicilia's for their pizza. I ordered "The Don" specialty pizza probably because of the website photo but also it sounded really good. It was "fine" and I enjoyed it. I am picky about pizza but next time (And, there will be a next time.) I will try a different pizza. Now as for the WINGS. First they asked "Ranch or Blue Cheese" never ever Ranch!! A big plus when they arrived was noting that the wings were not breaded. They were crisp and juicy but the fried wings were not coated with sauce in the kitchen instead they were plopped in a puddle of Frank's sauce on my plate. I ate every last wing but ... The food is trash.. The pizza and wings especially and no blue cheese just a package you can get at Wawa it's a salad dressing blue cheese not real blue cheese disgraceful. Pizza was just flavorless like it was rinsed in water and the wings were dry also tasted like it was dipped in water I don't know if they know anything about seasonings but the food did not have any in it... Stopped in today during an area blackout but they were still open. Ordered a large margarita also got a plain cheese slice to eat there. I've been coming here for years now and I finally decided to leave a review. One thing that keeps me coming back is their white pizza, more specially their Honey BBQ Chicken Pizza. Personally I don't typically like BBQ sauce on my pizza but Joe does a great job with it (since he makes it himself) not too much where you feel like you're drinking it but just enough for flavor. Try it, it's fantastic! I also love their hoagies and parm sandwiches they use the best bread (Liscio's) and fresh veggies. Paula also has a rotating menu for Mac 'n Cheese and when it's available I almost always have to get the jalapeño variety. The salad's are also very very good which is probably why I like their hoagies so much. You can't beat fresh veggies. During lent this place has to be your go to spot they really shake up the menu for those who practice. Overall I would highly recommend supporting this locally owned and operated locale. Okey dokey... canned mushrooms!? c'mon guys! Ordered a large pizza... the mushrooms were from a can the ham looked like lunch meat you bought at Food 4 Less that was chopped up into small squares.. the sauce was bland.. the cheese was good and the service was good they delivered it real quick with everything I asked for and they were polite on the phone the delivery driver was very nice but for 25 bucks for a large pizza.. please. We've been ordering here every Friday for the past month, in general we don't eat out a lot but want to support local business as much as possible. The foods been great! Pizza awesome, love the cheese fries, cheese steak great loved how the fried onions were cooked enough to be soft but still had an onion flavor, delicious! Very good pizza and very good prices particularly for pizza. Staff is always very friendly. My only complaint is that you can't just stop in and pick up some slices, like you can at Joe's or Cicontes. Plain slices and sometimes pepperoni are all they usually have on demand even at peak times like lunch. But for ordering whole pizzas, definitely recommend. read more
