Very mediocre sandwich. Roll did not have the crispness I was expecting from a hoagie roll. I could not tell if they sliced the sandwich meat each time they take an order. I love this wonderful deli in Pitman! Owner, Brandon, is kind and passionate about cooking. We came here for breakfast. I ordered a breakfast egg pork roll and cheese sandwich and among them hundreds (thousands?...yes, I love egg and cheese sandwiches that much) it was definitely top 3. I remember eating it over a month ago - yes it was that delicious. The bread was a fresh roll, flaky and rich, the eggs and cheese and pork in perfect proportion. This Deli was a lifesaver for a bunch of starving mothers on Mother's Day! I had a chicken salad sandwich which was so delicious. Packed full with real chunks of chicken & on an excellent roll. So tasty I ate almost all of it in minutes. I will definitely be back to try more of their sandwiches. We've been going to Mama Marie's forever and I am so thankful for that. I get the little nicky every time and it is always delicious. My mom also frequently goes down and orders sliced roast beef with hot au jus. I am not even sure if they have that on the menu, but because she asks every time they never hesitate to provide it. All of the staff is like this, they are kind, patient, and always willing to go above and beyond. If you're looking for a decent italian market, deli shop, sandwich place, etc. and really value customer service, I would definitely recommend. read more

A very good sandwich! I heard good things about Mama Marie's Deli in Pitman so I decided to give it a try. The first thing you notice when you walk in, is it's very small when you get inside. From the outside it looks like it has a lot of room but the inside is a dining room and a counter, and that's about it. You can order sit down breakfast or lunch, and there are cookie trays out for the holidays. The pictures on the wall were all the Italian legends. So that was a good sign for me. If I don't see a picture of Frank or Dean on the wall I question the food at the place. The place looks like it could use a woman's touch though. It definitely looks like it was decorated by a dude. When deciding on a good deli, your best choice is to try their Italian hoagie, and then try something different. The first day I tried a hot pastrami sandwich on rye. Pretty good deli meat, no fat (but I like that). I'm a fan of chopped up pastrami, this was sliced nice and thin. I always judge pastrami sandwiches next to Herschel's in the Reading terminal Market, this wasn't as good but if I don't feel like dealing with the traffic in Philly I could probably go here and get a hot pastrami sandwich. This isn't as good but when you factor in the traffic and the awful parking next to the reading terminal market this is a good replacement. They give you a good portion of meat, and I was able to have it over two meals. I paid $9.00 for the sandwich, so to stretch it over two meals, that's a decent price. Next I ordered the Italian hoagie. Very nice presentation! They give you a nice size portion, and the meat tasted very good. It cost me a total of 10 bucks for the sandwich and hot and sweet on the side. I'm a fan of Deitz Watsons cold cuts. I wonder though if I had asked for the good Italian meat, would that have cost extra. The sandwich altogether was decent. If I had one complaint, I think the lettuce could have tasted a little bit better. Overall, it's probably one of the best sandwiches you could get in this area. I'm a big fan of the White House hoagie, but if I don't feel like driving down to Atlantic City, this is a decent replacement. Overall I would give this place four stars. The only problem with this place is that it closes at 4:30. I would love it if I could order this sandwich at around 7:00 p.m. After the commute, you're home at around 6:00, so this sandwich isn't an option for you. There's really no good sandwich places in this area after 5:00 p.m. This place and Liscio's are the only places that make a decent sandwich that I would order from. Out of all the places in Glassboro and Pitman, this place has the best Italian hoagie. If you're home during the day, definitely give this place a try. read more

Such a pleasant business here.... I've been meaning to try this business out for awhile, but parking can be a challenge here depending on the time of day. Well, I lucked up and got a parking space right in front of their storefront. I mean this with all sincerity... Not every business will do the bare minimum of even saying hello or make eye contact with you when when you walk through their door. I can't stand that and will normally walk right back out. But the staff at Mama Marie's could probably make a living in teaching customer service and just being decent human beings... Pleasant people and genuinely nice. They really make you feel at home in their business. On to the food. I had been hearing about their Thanksgiving style sandwich, which is why I stopped in. I finally hit up Mama Marie's in Pitman today, and lets just say after seeing good reviews online and a vid by another food influencer, expectations were met and exceeded. I wish they could take over the slogans "better ingredients, better food, Mama Marie's" and "when you're here you're family." The roast beef and roast pork are made by scratch in house and they treat you like family while you are dining in. Pictured you shall see: Auletto- roast beef/pepper jack/diablo spread Roast Pork Rome- roast pork/sharp prov/broccoli rabe Little Nicky- prosciutto/prov/capocolla/genoa salami Angela- eggplant/sharp prov/broccoli rabe/roasted red peppers Also pictured is the triple chocolate cake Roast beef perfectly sliced thinly and stacked high. The diablo spread gave a perfect sweet and heat compliment tingle to the tongue. Good luck finishing that 12 inch hoagie in 1 sitting! Roast pork was my favorite. Typically you find the pork sliced thinly but here it cubed. Wonderful change as I feel like it absorbed the juices better. The cubes were so tender that they shred upon bite or squeeze. The sharpness of the provolone and the garlicky broccoli rabe will really blow you away. The sesame roll held up perfectly unlike other high quality roast pork sandwiches I've had before. Little Nicky is an italian hoagie. Typically you get some cheap cuts but here you get some prosciutto and dude, I personally love prosciutto. Just a well crafted delicious sandwich My wife got the Angela and she said it was absolutely delicious. She stated the eggplant really stood out to her and had great flavor. It was so good that she had to take a nap after eating it. Everything on the menu pretty much ranges from $7-$10. I have celiac disease and am gluten free. I heard Mama Marie's has GF rolls for their sandwiches. I wanted a couple of GF Italian hoagies for a party over the weekend. When I called to order I was informed that they are not open on Sunday when I would need the sandwiches. The owner could hear the disappointment in my voice and said he would come in and make the sandwiches Sunday morning. I told him it was ok and not to go to the trouble. He insisted. My boyfriend has cooked breakfast and I have been serving it for years as our part time jobs, so we have a very high standard for good breakfasts. We like the kind of breakfast sandwiches that have extra butter and are wrapped in foil and gets the bread all warm. So we decided to try breakfast sandwiches on a weekday morning before work. My family and I visited looking for a breakfast/brunch option. My biggest issue with the food that we ordered was the amount of grease that saturated the food. My husband ordered the western omelette and not only was there a puddle of oil under the eggs but it was obviously jarred vegetables used. Also, I didn't care for the cabinet filled with supplies open for all to see as you walk in. That and the duct tape used under the ledge. To me that says that they really don't care about their appearance of their establishment. First impressions are everything. Sadly that was our first and last visit. read more

The owner, Dom is passionate about food and you can tell by the high quality choice of ingredients he uses to create his menu. My wife always gets the Chipotle salad and I usually get the Roast Pork Rome sandwich and they are both delicious! Being that I live so close I've occasionally stopped in and just asked for suggestions on recipes and cooking and he's very knowledgeable and always willing to share and idea. I've had their hoagies and was pleased, although they were nowhere near as good as Pal Joey's. On the other hand I had awhile ago tried the breakfast sandwich porkroll egg and cheese. The porkroll was rancid and I was all night hugging the bowl. I knew it tasted very funny but thought it might be me. I've worked in restaurants and I know that porkroll does not keep well for any extended time. I hope they are selling more so this does not happen again. I called last minute on Sunday morning to see if they could make a delivery to my brother-in-law's home as they had a death in the family. These wonderful people went out of their way to make up a wonderful antipasto platter and fixings for hot roast beef sandwiches AND delivered within two hours.
