Naples News built itself a flagship facility on Immokalee Road, and included a light & bright Community Room in its plans to benefit residents. With a lot of parking, an easily located facility, and ground floor location, the NDN Community Room is a great asset for greater Naples. It has a wall of black & white historic photographs featuring Naples founders, along with some hand made original if bizarre artifacts from that period. I have to knock this review a star because the Room is only available in the daytime, with a cutoff of 5PM. Certainly, that is not mindful of working people who may also wish to make use of the space. Tables, chairs, a podium and audio visual equipment are part of the written agreement for users. Fees are based on NDN business interests: Not an advertiser or not for profit? A day's rental will be $800. The preferred applicants are advertisers and charities, who can have the space for $150. I've attended lectures here and the temperature, lighting, and seating are comfortable and clean. The AV even works! read more

I have been trying to get reimbursed for the window their news carrier broke when he threw the newspaper three floors up. I have reported it, my tenant reported it. I was promised someone would get back to me and that they take it very seriously. Nothing. I sent an email to the editor with a copy of the $400 bill I had to pay to get the glass replaced and still haven't heard anything back. Delivery charges, special edition charges, taxes will cause your bill to balloon to many times what you thought you were paying. I have lived in many communities and subscribed to many local papers and never experienced this before. The delivery will be missed many times but your promised refund will never appear. As a long-time subscriber to the Naples Daily News ("NDN"), I finally had enough and cancelled my subscription, like many of my friends and neighbors. This publication has become so politically biased and left-wing, communist oriented that reading it became offensive. Its letters to the editor section is replete with anti-Trump and anti-American propaganda, and the cartoons published on the same page as the editorials are despicable. One should investigate NDN, and its parent company, USA Today, for their part and interference in the 2020 elections, as they have been systematically suppressing the freedom of speech and influencing its readers, the citizens of Naples, FL. Their financial interests and ties to Russia and China, if true, should also be considered. Over the years, I have written many letters to the editor, but NDN stopped publishing them recently as they do not embrace its political ideology. Many of my friends have experienced the same fate and have cancelled their subscription in utter disgust, after having written to NDN's senior management, to no avail. To add insult to injury, NDN has been increasing its annual subscription rate unilaterally and without notice to subscribers, who only find this out when their subscription expires and are then notified that they owe additional sums due to alleged rate increases during the life of the subscriptions. When contacting NDN's Customer Service Department, one receives conflicting and contradictory information, and none in favor of the subscriber. Other online reviews and the BBB complaints further support the statements made above. In sum, caveat emptor, and good luck, NDN, in your future endeavors as your days as a reputable news publication are clearly numbered! read more

This is another letter to the NDN, which will not be published, because it does not maintain the key phrase "I hate Trump " For decades, I have been a a subscriber to the NDN. The paper was factual, unbiased and informative. I also was a frequent contributor to the paper and over the years, dozens of my letters were published. In fact, I ran a competition with a friend, who was the most frequent contributor. Then the NDN was acquired by the USA Today network and a radical change occurred. Gone was the unbiased and factual reporting and the NDN became the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. Distorted and slanted news became the order of the day. Not one of my and my friend's letters were ever published again. The editorials, the letters to the editor and the despicable cartoons became so bad that many of my friends, including myself, simply cancelled their subscription and some even refuse to read the paper, if it is free. I still read it off and on, when I obtain a free copy and shake my head in disbelief. Letters are only published if they contain ate least once the phrase "I hate Trump" or some other hateful anti Trump tirades. It is journalism at its worse. Since then the formerly reliably balanced news reporting has disappeared and been replaced by woke headlines, and lead paragraphs, and deliberate lack of reporting key information. DO NOT give NDN access to your credit card! They will increase your monthly fee for the online subscription to $60 without any type of notice. And when you contact them they will tell whatever you want to hear yet do nothing. Our experience with each of the three calls we made to NDN resulted in a promise they would credit our account and to check after the 20th of the following month. It does not represent the reality of living in Naples. In addition the reporting lacks statistical facts, mostly conjecture and anecdotal information. Today's article about increased mosquito population contained no statistical evidence. I believe there is an opportunity to create a better newspaper for this area that is better than this National Enquirer journalism. read more

We ordered the Naples Daily News through a stand outside Ace Hardware. Our cost was to be $34 a month on easy pay. We paid $41.33 on Oct 26 and another $50.44 on 11/15. After waiting for 4 hours for a representative to call me back I was told the price was now $50.44 a month because of the "inserts" in the paper. Why am I paying for inserts when the advertisers are paying for it. This paper is running a scam. The paperwork I received when I ordered the paper says $34 on easy pay now they are jacking it up without even telling us. Rip off. Better to listen to the TV news instead of getting the NDN!!! read more

Naples Daily News switched billing companies. They no longer personally deal with your billing. My bill nearly doubled two months in a row. I've had to call twice in the past two months. The new billing company has the worst customer service. The representative I spoke to the second time said that they will continue to overcharge me, and I will have to call each month to have the overcharge taken off. When I said I will cancel my subscription if this was the case, she said, "That's not a problem." Had she had any customer service skills, Naples Daily News would have kept a customer. I love the paper and have subscribed for 10 years, BUT we just received our bill. For one year of Naples Daily News we will pay $600. REALLY! I am on line trying to figure out what the actual paper costs if we pick it up one block away from us on the days we care about, Sunday, Tuesday for the ads for grocery stores, and Friday. In trying to reactivate an inactive subscription online (from the days when Naples Daily News actually had a customer service function); the attempt failed miserably. Trying to call the customer service telephone line resulted in a continual "busy" signal, or the "..call did not go through". An attempt to "chat" online resulted in a connection to an agent that ignored the actual issue and responded with "canned" responses. The "agent" eventually abruptly dropped out of the "chat" when he/she was unable to respond to the questions posed. E-mails to customer service resulted in a response days later that NDN would call me; they never did. A second e-mail arrived on a Saturday asking me to call NDN. The call did go through but they are closed for the weekend. Given the rock-bottom quality of the newspaper, it's hardly worth the effort. Unfortunately, there is no alternative; and this is what happens without competition. read more
