This message is for Peter. I have been a loyal customer for 20+ years, but today I had such awful experience with your staff and would like to let you know what happened. I had an appointment today (3/5/24) for my annual eye exam for my glasses and contacts. During the eye exam, the optometrist gave me a pair of trial contacts for me to wear. After the exam, I was serviced by one of your female staff behind the service counter. She was preparing for the glasses lens fitting for me to try on. I had mentioned to her that I had the trial contacts lens that the optometrist had asked me to put on, and thus I needed to take them off before I can do the eye glass lens fitting. So she asked me to take off the contact lens and brought me to the back room. She gave me a contact lens case and a solution to use for me to put the contacts in. She didn't realize that the solution she gave me was hydrogen peroxide. I didn't realize it until I put it on my eyes and it started to burn. I went back out to the service counter and told her to get me some saline solution because what she gave me was the hydrogen peroxide solution and not saline. I needed the saline ASAP to rinse out my eyes. I was really upset! My eyes were burning during that time. She apologized for her mistake, but that didn't alleviate the problem. Unfortunately I paid for half of the cost of my lens and contacts before this incident happened. This will be the last time I will come here for my annual eye check up. I am going elsewhere afterwards. The quality of service has not been the same as before. read more

No matter how busy it gets, NARA team members always give customers their full attention. They listen to your needs and requirements, let you try on as many frames as you'd like until you find your fit and preferred style, and answer all of your questions and concerns. They're professional and well-trained especially with helping people. Although optometry is their business, they also excel at making people feel welcome and respect--a classic characteristic of Asian culture. NARA team members are fluent in English, Korean and Vietnamese, and probably Chinese too; but it doesn't matter where you come from, they'll manage to help you see better! They require that you make an appointment first, but they also welcome walk-ins if the calendar is not packed. Joyce helped us get our glasses and the doctor and his assistant were equally incredible at what they do. Highly recommended. read more

He has always skillfully assisted in choosing glasses and also for adding nose pads for my HUGE sunglasses that don't sit on my nose well. I would NEVER NEVER go to Nara again after being a loyal customers for over 8 years. Their level of customer service have gone done tremendously. Here's the reason why I'm giving them one star. Over a year ago, I came to Nara to do the usual eye check up for my 2 kids and I. Of course, somehow the Rep miscalculated how much my allowances was. Instead of calculating for 3 people they did 4 people instead. Let and behold, when I got my reimbursement check from VSP the numbers didn't add up. I went to complain to them and they said they will take care of it. A year later and I'm still trying to get answer from them. I have to call them constantly to get an update with no luck. I had to come into the the office and talked directly to the owner in which he was no help. So now I'm out of pocket of over $200 that I know I'll never get reimbursed for because they screw up on the calculations. Needless to say, I told the owner I'm going to take my loss and go elsewhere. I have told a lot of my friends how furious I was with the situation and they ran into similar issues with Nara. One even didn't their reimbursement check for over 6 months because whomever fill out the paperwork filled out the wrong DOB. I have found new optometry and have been referring my friends and families there now. Sorry Nara..you've lost a few loyal customers dues to lack of customer service. Here's a tip to Nara - always do benefit verifications each year since # of dependents on the account may and can change. Don't make assumptions that every year is the same. read more

This place has an awesome collection ranging from affordable to high end. Andy was a huge help- my fiance came in needing glasses ASAP because he broke his and can't stand wearing contact lenses. With his high prescription, most places gave him a lead time of 5-7 days, this place was only 1 day (they use "generic" which only meant to me that it was quicker to get done)! Not only that, lens crafters quoted something along the lines of $600, at Nara lenses were only $150-200 (not including insurance). Because of this, my fiance ended up getting a second pair of frames with lenses for around $400 something so he ended up with two pairs around the price of what lens crafters quoted for lenses only! Pro tip- frames can be negotiable and are priced under MSRP! Andy gladly worked within our budget without making us feel uncomfortable. This is one of the few optometry places that are transparent with you on how to get the best bang for your buck. Because of the deal my fiance got, I ended up going in for an eye exam on the spot (which only took 15 minutes) and was even able to get miu miu frames PLUS lenses for less than $500 (without insurance) out the door. I came back in to pick it up the next day and can't complain about how they feel. I didn't even get dizzy wearing them like I normally would with a new pair of glasses. read more

I had a very difficult times getting used to my prescription. First time getting progressive lenses. They were so very helpful in making sure I could see with my new glasses. I went home with my new lenses very pleased, and sure enough, my toddler broke my lenses within hours of getting them. Peter contacted the manufacturer to see if there was something they could do. Everyone here speaks English, which is convenient for me when I don't feel like speaking in Korean. I like the styles of glasses they have here. There was a mature lady who helped me adjust glasses I had purchased years ago from here. She was very nice and did a good job of adjusting them. At one time I really wanted to get LASIK surgery, but after hearing some stories from friends of Taiwanese descent, whose eyes look similar to mine, I became less interested. I like wearing eyeglasses. I feel like my IQ shoots up 10 points when I wear them. Definitely very helpful in these competitive times. Years ago I wore contact lenses regularly but I much prefer eyeglasses. They do have contact lenses if you are interested in them, but for me, I'll stick with glasses. Eye exams are reasonably priced if you don't have vision insurance. I think the optometrist here is very smart. read more

Service? Stellar! Company image? Clean, friendly & good value! Location? Rather busy but a no real complaints! Selection? As good as anyone I can think of! Have you talked with Peter here? He's enthusiastic and really earnest in helping you find a frame you are happy with. He sat with us for an hour as my girl decided on her next fashion statement. Peter cited us with opinions and was really as involved in the process as we asked him to be. Really great and personable. When we came back to pick up, Linda helped us with eye exams for myself & young brother. She took our orders, explained the process and stuck with us as we took up another hour of her time adjusting my girlfriend's glasses for the best fit. My parents have been customers of Nara for the last 10+ years. I've tagged along a few times and have purchased three pairs of sunglasses. Service has always been really great. Also, they have a fantastic selection of designer eyewear - Prada, SALT, Tom Ford, Dior, Chanel, etc. I haven't had many eye exams, but it was concluded that my vision was excellent. However, I noticed that I was having a more difficult time reading text from a distance lately and decided it was time for a vision exam. It was free with medical insurance and I discovered that I have an astigmatism. The doctor was surprised I had gone so long without correctional lenses! Therefore, I was given a prescription of a very mild correction. A very helpful and friendly associate helped me choose frames (I ended up with cute Tom Ford ones) and they finished cutting my lenses while we were still at the store! I also took advantage of the Yelp check-in offer of free anti-glare coating on the lenses. Everything was so simple and service was extremely prompt. The doctor was also friendly and it was very easy to talk to him. It was a great experience and I only wish it was closer to home! read more

I came to this place for the first time. The greeting was great, the assistant was there to help me out quickly. Initially, I came to get the new contact lenses only, and I agreed to have an eye exam.....After the exam, I was told that my right eye got worse. So I paid over $$$ to get a new set of contact lenses plus changing the eye glasses & sun glasses with the new lenses. After one week later, I received a call that my eye glasses and sun glasses were ready to pick up, but the new contact lenses had not arrived yet. So I came to pick them up and used them. However, I could not wear my new eyes glasses at all. I thought I would be adjusting to new glasses soon, but I couldn't continue due to severe dizziness and headache. I came back and told them about symptoms. Then they asked me to have another eye exam. --- the result was different. Surprised that My result was as same as previous exam that was taken over 2 years ago. Unfortunately, I already spent unnecessary $$$ for changing the lenses for eye glasses and sun glasses. Furthermore, when the new contact lenses finally arrived. The contact lenses were wrong. They didn't change it to correct contact lenses, the female assistant kept telling me that " but you didn't complaint about it" Then I told her "how can I wear the glasses and contact lenses with different acuity reading?" I demanded to change the contact lenses. Instead, she gave me another appointment with Optometrist.(-_-) To make it short, the different assistant helped me to get the correct contact lenses. My final thought is I may not be the expert about the eye, but it's the common sense that no one should wear the eye glasses and contact lenses with different visual acuity. I have been going here for about 7ish years. Recently I came here to get my vision checked and get brand new glasses. Everything went smooth and well until I came to pick up my new glasses. When I put them on, I realized my vision was more blurred than usual. When I asked how much the prescription was, it was different than my usual prescription. After expressing my concern the lady continued to be rude and gave me a second check with the optometrist. She then told me that it was because of my astigmatism. I do not have astigmatism. I went to check for that recently with my PCP (primary care physician) and opthalmatrist, who are REAL doctors. They told me that I do not have astigmatism and that it's most likely due to wrong eye prescription. I don't thinks I will be coming back here... I think this place lies to you when they make a mistake. It showed when I found out that the lady was wrong about my astigmatism.. Also, that girl there needs to work on her customer service skills. If a customer pays a lot of money for a product and is unsatisfied, something needs to be done to assure they are happy with what they paid for. Lying about it is not the answer. read more

Busy place, it is a bit hard to find someone to help you. Their glasses range from really cheap to high end, no more Chanel glasses here. The quality is not that good both the frame and the lense compared to my previous glasses i got from fashion island. But you get what you pay for. I purchased their frame and lense as a backup just in case my daily glasses broke or lost. The good thing is that they do have their own lab which is why they can get your glasses ready in between 1-3 hours if they have the lense in stock read more

I came in here with my friend on a mission to get him glasses last minute. Every place we called or went to were closing. Each place told him his eye exam would take too long where he'd have to come in another time because his vision was a bit complicated.
