Driveway Failed in Under 3 Years, Company is Completely Unresponsive I am writing this review out of extreme disappointment and frustration with Nardi Pavement. We hired them a few years ago to pave our driveway in Darien, a significant investment we expected to last for many, many years. Unfortunately, the quality of their work is shockingly poor. Our driveway is now riddled with extensive cracks and has sunk substantially in multiple areas, creating an uneven and unsightly mess not to mentioned water in my basement! This level of deterioration in such a short period of time is completely unacceptable and points to improper base preparation or low-quality materials. What is most infuriating, however, is the complete lack of accountability. I have made numerous attempts to contact Nardi Pavement to have them address this premature failure. I have left multiple voicemails over the past 2 months and have not received a single call back. They were happy to take my money, but now that there's a problem, they are nowhere to be found. A company's reputation is built not just on the initial job, but on how they stand by their work afterward. Nardi Pavement has failed on both fronts. I am now left with a failed driveway that will cost thousands to repair. I strongly urge anyone considering their services to look elsewhere. read more

Unreliable. I arranged a meeting with electrician, tree removal company, and Nardi to finalize the plan and get started on a large driveway project. Nardi no-showed, but they did apologize and asked to reschedule. The electrician and tree removal company were good enough to return at the rescheduled day and hour. But once again, Nardi was not there. After 45 minutes, we gave up on Nardi. The electrician and tree removal company departed. Shortly afterwards, Nardi called and explained that they were busy. I told them they were too unreliable to work on the project. They apologized and wished me luck. They are polite. I will give them that. read more

If I could give zero stars I most definitely would. Our driveway is not even 2 years old and we've had problems since they installed it. Within a few weeks of completing it in the fall of 2018 we noticed water pooling and freezing all along the right side of the driveway. About 3 months after they did the work a few Belgium blocks popped out. I contacted them multiple times around that time but they would not come back out to fix the Belgium blocks or to rectify the water issue. My husband ended up reading up on how to install a French drain and did it himself---no water issues since and just let the Belgium block issue go. A few days ago we noticed that a few holes are beginning to form at the top of the driveway (long driveway on a hill). I emailed about this as well as the Belgium blocks they never came back out to repair since our contract says they guarantee their work for two years. They got back to me and claimed that because we had it sealed in October 2019 and the contract says the warranty is only good for 2 years if no additional work is done on it, that they could not help me. There is absolutely no way that multiple fissures and potholes are forming due to it being sealed, or so logic would dictate. In addition, I did pretty extensive reading which specifically states that holes can form prematurely if the base is either not thick enough or not compacted enough. NOWHERE does anyone mention that sealing a driveway can cause potholes to form!!!!!!!! I wrote back as politely as possible stating what I just stated above about it being due to the base and not the sealing and noted that the Belgium blocks have absolutely nothing to do with the sealing either. They never responded and that was over a month ago. Basically a big F you, we're off to our next customer. I wouldn't recommend these people to my worst enemy. Total waste of $20,000 which nearly bankrupted us and if I could sue them I most definitely would. read more

Having our 2nd masonry job done by him and we are blown away on the mason/artist. Unbelievable he can take a pile of rocks and make a wall and walkway that look likes it should be out of a magazine. Having him pave our driveway as well after this. he paved my sisters driveway for significantly less money and was a great job. Highly recommend! read more

I came home from work, and they were just finishing up. It was raining most of the day. Harder when I was on my way home. I've read that you're not supposed to pave in the rain, because of the oils in the asphalt. They just left afterwards. Besides the yellow caution tape across the driveway, not a word from any of the workers. I emailed to ask if the work was done, and that there were no instructions left. I asked when it was safe to park in the driveway. They said 5 days. So we also read that give it a week before parking on it. We waited almost two weeks. I came out after the first night, and found my tires sunk about 1/4"- 3/8" in the asphalt. My wife's tires also left indentations. I emailed pictures, and was told it shouldn't happen, but it does. I was also told that maybe when I drove in the driveway that I pressed on the brakes too hard. It's not that big of a driveway to do that. We stayed off the driveway way another week. I emailed again and she told me that it's normal because it's hot out. We decided to park back in the driveway. Well, we ended up making more indentations. I emailed again to share my concerns and that I would not pay the balance. She said that she would have the owner call me. He never called. He instead, showed up unannounced on a Saturday about a week later. I wasn't home. He spoke to my wife, said he sees nothing wrong, they do good work, and I have to pay. She mentioned the day they came that it was raining, he says it wasn't, and that he had called me. He told her to have me call him. I never spoke to him before, therefore I don't have his number. I emailed that I want his number or for him to call me. Nothing. I called and left messages. Nothing. I finally reached a woman who told me that he is in the field and doesn't get service, when I asked for his number. Huh???! She took my number again, and still no call from him. I emailed every day saying that I have his check, and for him to come get it and talk about the bad workmanship. No emails back. No calls back. Obviously they know something is wrong, and they will have to fix it. I took pictures of my driveway in the rain. There is puddling in many spots. It's horrible. I have talked to other people who have had their driveway done around the same time. They have no indentations. If this is normal, why is mine the only 1 of 3 done by Nardi's, that has this problem? Yelp review is step 1. Next, I am going to BBB. Then to social media. Last stop, small claims! The cheaper price is not worth the aggravation afterwards. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

Very Reliable! I received several price estimates for a driveway project greater than $30K. Nardi (Bernard) gave us the best price by far. He did the job as promised and added a few changes at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Nardi and can only explain the reason why he is "busy" as his price is the best (at least in our case). read more
