Waiting room looks stuck in the 80's. Everybody looks miserably and seems scared to speak. Possibly they truly are this unhappy or possibly the employer has caused this? I don't know. Our family has been going to this office for a few years and will be changing to a more healthy and welcoming office. An idea for the office manager is to take staff on a field trip. Visit, for instance, Arrowhead Dental in Charlestown. Staff is welcoming, warm and upbeat. They start up conversations, smile and address you and your family, especially kids, in such a friendly manor that you almost don't want to leave. This is how it should be. Our past Doctors in other states were this way and Wakefield Pediatrics should also be this way. It's quit obvious a change is needed inside and out of this office.

When my two children and I entered the exam room everything was fine, the nurse was doing her usual weight, height, etc. A few minutes later the doctor comes in and starts asking his usual question, during that time I tell him how terrified of needles my son is and what a difficult time we've been having and his refusal. At which time he exits the room without a word, just he'll be right back. A few moments later he Re-enters the room with a handful of shots behind his back. Well, needless to say my son got wind of it and started flipping out on the doctor crying and yelling because he was so scared. I immediately stopped the situation and told the Dr. that id like to do them another day when my husbands around. Literally, 2 secs later I was being told if he did not receive his shots right then and there, that we would not be allowed to return. I was speechless, all I was asking is that we reschedule a day when my husband could be there to support our son. Then he proceeded to say he wouldn't treat my daughter either, I left in tears. We started with Dr. Yasigian who was absolutely wonderful but has since retired. My children now see Dr. Peduto and Dr. Crotty as their primary physicians. All the nurse practitioners and staff are all very kind. Eastside Clinical is located right up the street in case you need to do labs. They are associated with Just Sick Kids which is on the other side of the building. It's basically a walk-in/after hours office that is staffed with nurse practitioners. His office is a good distance away from the city, but we feel it is worth the drive. If you make an appointment, be ready for a different type of medical experience. His office is in a closed off section of his home, his wife is the administrator and he is a quiet man. You will not see a bunch of sick people waiting in the waiting room, as he doesn't schedule appointments on top of each other. Often, we will see one family waiting and everyone has been really healthy, so we never worry that going in for a check up will get our kids sick.
