Some staff are great, but you have to be lucky to get your haircut done by them. There's no reservation system, so you get who becomes available. Almost every time I've been here, I've walked out dissatisfied. Most of the time, they don't follow what they are asked, even when shown pictures as a guide, and mess up people's haircuts for at least the next few weeks. There have been numerous occasions where I have had to see another barber to fix my haircut after getting one here. Do yourself a favor, and do some thorough research before coming here. If you're looking for a standard haircut, this may be the place for you, but if you have very specific requests for your haircut (which most people do), try finding an individual barber who your friends/colleagues rave about and find out where they work - your future self will thank you. Had a great experience with Georgie here yesterday. She was incredibly precise and followed my desired request. The shop is small and doesn't offer any reservations which is great, but expect to wait around 20 minutes before getting sat on a week day (could definitely be longer on the weekend). Seating space is decent for the size of the store and the value of the hair cut is pretty nice too (variable pricing depending on the day of the week). I have been here multiple times and every time it's a great experience. I have tried multiple locations and this definitely the best local spot I know of. It is convenient and not overpriced (men haircut is 20 dollar on week days and 21 on weekends ). All barbers here are young and very friendly. The barber I would recommend is Jackie. She is very experience and knows what she is doing. She does take her time with you and makes sure she lets you go home with a solid hair. The only down side about the place is the wait. MAKE sure you call before coming in because you will wait for awhile to get a haircut because it can really really get busy sometimes. Nassau Barbers is by far my favorite place to get a haircut in Princeton. The staff there know how to do a good fade and hard part which is hard to find. I am originally from the west coast and am very picky about my haircuts. The staff also know how to cut Asian hair which is also something that is difficult to find. I highly recommend! Definitely my go-to barber shop for haircuts within a 50 mile radius. Over the past few years, I've been here too many times, reviewed (and updated) my reviews too many times not to give Nassau Barbers five stars. I will admit--the wait does get quite long sometimes, and I know that raving about Nassau Barbers can only attract more patrons. That being said, it would be heresy to say that it's not worth the wait. Tough to be operating during COVID-19, but they pull it off pretty seamlessly, and their contact tracing at the door inspires confidence. Right now, they're using a system where you get a ticket at the door and wait until your number is up. It's pretty straightforward, so if you're crying foul about people "cutting the line," you must never have gone to a New York deli before. tl;dr Best quality haircuts in the central NJ/philly suburbs. When i came in there was only one person in the chair and was told there will be a 30 minute wait. I came back in less than 30 minutes and there was already some else on the chair and was told that i not only had to wait for the current one but a new one that had just came in! I was in a hurry one day, so I came here because the wait at Princeton Barber Shop was going to take me an eternity. There were 5 other people in the waiting area, and we pretty much stared at each other for an hour until I finally got called up by the guy with big arms who smelled like cigarette smoke. He's a friendly guy, but I remember him as the guy who f-ed up my fade/undercut the last time I came here. I wanted to give him another chance. It turns out that giving him another chance was the biggest mistake I made that day. He gave me a haircut in a hurry. Nothing good comes from cutting hair in hurry. Unless you're a military barber and want to give a new recruit a silly haircut. Anyway, one side of my head had a good fade, the other side was completely shaved, and the top of my head had long hair. The side that was completely shaved looked like a cupcake when it was combined with the long hair up top. It was embarrassing and I ended up shaving my head instead. You could spend $25 on a crappy haircut, or you could shave your head at home for FREE. read more

Fantastic mens' haircuts... but call ahead to make sure they're open. The ratings for this place gravitate around two poles: high ones for the haircuts and low ones for the erratic hours. It is true that Tony (the owner) often closes shop for all or part of days to run errands. However, (1) this is an inevitable problem for a very small business like this one and (2) it can be avoided by *simply calling ahead* to make sure they're open. These complications aside, I have not once been disappointed in a haircut here, and I've been coming at least monthly for two years and have had my hair cut by every person employed there during that time (Tony, Tommy, Mallory). Due to the COVID-19, it has changed the ways of how we must now take precautions and have patients at the same time. Not only for ourselves but also with whom we need to come close to in order to have the kind of service that we need in our daily lives. After going to several hairstylists, I always found myself not being happy with the outcome. After doing some research on google, I had came across "NASSAU BARBERS" located in Princeton, NJ. Even though I live an hour away from the place, I made the choice to try them out. Just like many others on YELP, we not only just look at the "Ratings" but we also read the "Reviews" which is exactly what I did. After seeing both the reviews and ratings, they are considered as being 4.5 star. However, if I were to be a judge and/or a secret type of customer without them knowing. I would not only rate them a 5 STAR clear across the board as I did here, but I would also give them a plaque showing just how GREAT they are and for other clients now and hopefully in the near future to see that. Only just a few would be considered a true "professional hairstylist" while others are still lacking on major details. Nassau Barbers is by far the "professional hairstylist." They have not only earn my business as a client, but they have also earned my trust as being a long time client. They go above and beyond in every category that a customer/client looks for when it deals with: Service, Health Safety due to COVID-19 and respect. More importantly, they listen to each every needs that the client is seeking for when it deal with a certain style. I went to Mike's Barber Shop, Princeton Barber Shop, etc and left unsatisfied.Today I went to Nassau Barbers and was extremely satisfied. It's tough to get a decent Asian male haircut at Princeton from experience, but I thought Tom (and I've heard the same about Tony) at Nassau Barbers did a fantastic job. Tom's also a great guy and highly enjoyed my conversation with him. I would HIGHLY advise Princeton students who are unsatisfied with their haircuts to come to Nassau Barbers. High and tight with phenomenal blending, I highly recommend her. She may be a barber, but she's my low key therapist! My other visit was just to have my beard touched up.
