My Fiancé and I started our search for our wedding photographer, knowing that it was going to be one of the most important parts of our big day. We are from Dallas, TX, so we did all of our searching online. One of the first things that really stood out to us was her beautiful website!!! We loved that she had a video about herself that showed us her sweet personality and we could definitely see how much she loves what she does. It didn't take us long to know that she is who we wanted to capture our wedding day. Once we had our date with her reserved 4.26.18 (next year - so excited!), we were also able to plan a separate trip to Maui just a month ago where Natalie was available to take our engagement photos. We gave her a little insight about us and the type of couple we are. She recommended the perfect beach to meet her at and even a spot for dinner afterwards. Once we actually met her, we loved her instantly. We weren't quite sure what to expect and thought we might be a little awkward. I will admit that it took us a second to warm up to the camera being on us, but Natalie made us feel so comfortable. We are not the couple that has perfect smiles on cue, and most of our best pics are candids. Natalie did an EXCELLENT job at capturing these for us. After a short while, we didn't even feel like we were on a shoot, but rather just having fun with each other. Not once did she make us feel pressured on time, and she took sooo many pictures. Even as we were getting ready to part ways, she stopped us for a last minute picture that she couldn't pass up. Part of having our engagements done was to have some photos for our Save the Dates and she had a few of her favorites sent over within two days. She let us know it would be a couple of weeks to get all the images back, and we were so excited once we finally received them. We were blown away by the amount of amazing photos she captured. She definitely knows how to get the best of the natural lighting and capturing our personalities. We can't wait to have Natalie with us on our wedding day and would recommend her for any occasion. What can I say about Miss Natalie? She is an absolute angel! My husband and I booked her as our wedding photographer this last June and she was amazing to say the least! Natalie is amazing! Even from the beginning when we started communicating through email, she was so warm and friendly. I asked her a ton of questions regarding the wedding photography process and what to expect at our venue (since we aren't local). She was so detailed in explaining everything and was flexible with working around our wedding schedule. Being a very Type A person myself, I went through her gorgeous portfolio beforehand and let her know what resonated the most with us. We just got married last week, so we don't have all our photos yet, but she sent us a sneak peek of 35 photos just 4 days after the wedding and she nailed it by capturing special moments and beautiful details. The day of the wedding, she was right on time and snapping away. We had her for 8 hours and her lovely assistant Angie joined for part of that time. They were a great team. Multiple guests told us after the wedding how wonderful they were and how it was clear they were making sure all the guests were accounted for. Throughout the day, she was so polite and understanding, suggesting times to take 'romantics' but flexible with timing if we wanted to mingle with our guests. She really has an eye for beauty as she was able to find beautiful poses in our stunning setting at Sugarman Estate. She said she was married there as well so she must know it very well! What I really appreciate is that she truly went above and beyond. This beautiful woman was 5 months pregnant and that didn't stop her from zipping around taking photos, and even at one point, laying on the dance floor to take a crowd shot. She is so committed. She also pulled us aside and said that since she knew how much photography meant to us, she wanted to try some special time lapse stuff. We haven't seen those yet but I loved that she was so proactive. Of all the hundreds of decisions we made for our wedding, choosing Natalie was one of the best, hands down. But why can't I give six stars? Ten stars? That's what I would give Natalie Brown, if only Yelp would let me. My fiancé and I were planning an announced elopement-- getting married in Hawaii and honeymooning there, but everyone knows about it. I didn't know what dress I wanted, or what "look" I was going for-- but the one thing I knew is, I wanted the photography to be GREAT. We weren't having guests at our wedding so we needed the pictures to be outstanding. I had the highest budget for it, and thanks to an art school education, I was pretty particular about the look I wanted. Plenty of companies have photography "add ons" to their officiant packages-- no offense to them but I wanted a real professional. Someone who knew photography and loved it. I found that in Natalie. I booked everything with her well in advance (I would die if I couldn't have her do our wedding photography) and she was nothing but communicative and helpful throughout the booking process. As for the shoot, we couldn't ask for a sweeter person to work with. She was on time and knew exactly how to make the most of the space we had in our condo and on the grounds. Natalie is AMAZING in every way! She makes the whole process from beginning to end enjoyable. She was punctual and communicative while making the arrangements for our family photos. This was our first family photo shoot with our 4 1/2 year old and 1 1/2 year old. I told myself not to over think it but that is easier said than done. We all want to look our best and have those perfect photos to hang in our homes that you will feel good about every time you look at them. The day of while trying to get ready I forgot my son's shirt and had to buy one on the way there, forgot my daughter's diaper cover, my eyes would not stop watering, the baby was screaming crying and the weather was gloomy. I thought it was going to be the perfect recipe for disaster. Then Natalie arrived... she is not only the kindest person you may ever meet but there is something about her energy that sets everything at ease. The way she gives direction makes everything feel effortless and fun. I told her my worries about feeling fat in my non-forgiving dress and the other obstacles I felt I was up against. I wish I would not have spent any time worrying because it was a waste. Our photos are absolutely AMAZING! I could go on for days with descriptive words about how wonderful they are, but better explained by how I cannot stop looking at them. She sent us a sneek peak just days after our shoot and I was floored. How did she do that? Right when we got home from our trip we had all the photos to look at. Instead of unpacking I spent a WHOLE day watching the slideshow over and over. There is no way to pick, they all are outstanding. Not only does it look like we are in heaven but she capture precious moments I didn't even know happened. The perspective, lighting, use of natural lighting, timing and on and on is absolutely perfect! How did she get every photo just right? There is no feeling of "I wish we had a photo of" or "where is that one of us". They are all there and perfect! And I love the way I look in every photo and I have NEVER been able to say that before. We left feeling like we had just had a fun, loving family moment on the beach not like we just had a photo shoot. Don't waste your time looking into any other photographers in Maui, trust me you will be disappointed. We may have to renew our vows so we can have beautiful wedding photos. Natalie is amazing. We had her as our photographer with Island Girl Pin Ups (Katherine Day) and the entire experience has been amazing. My husband and I usually shun the camera, but working with her was a dream. During the shoot, she helps you get into the exact poses needed for a FANTASTIC photo so there's no awkwardness of 'Uh... what do I do with my hand here? should I smile? where should I be looking? what should I do?!' She tells you what's what and gives a constant stream of encouragement making you feel like a model. And then post processing... the photos... words do not suffice. The results are AMAZING. Great doesn't tell the story! There are enough superlatives for Natalie's work and professionalism. From contacting Natalie over a year prior to our visit to Maui to booking our appointment and meeting her, finally!, on the beach at our hotel in June; the whole experience was fantastic! Her pricing for our family of 15 was well worth it and, I felt, affordable for the amount of photos taken. We were there celebrating my husband's 70th birthday with family and friends. She came fully prepared and knew exactly the best time to meet us to get great shots before (and just at the right moment of) the sunset. We had Natalie shoot our wedding in August '19 @ Sugar Beach Events. We met Natalie on a wedding planning trip last March and immediately fell in love with her and felt very comfortable with her shooting our wedding. We had done a ton of research leading up to that point on the type and style of photos that we wanted. My husband and I wanted to capture our authentic selves and the same with our guests. Hands down Natalie is one of the best photographers I have ever met. Coming from an entertainment background I have had the pleasure of working with quite a few. My fiancé and I had just gotten engaged in Oahu and had plans to go to Maui. My husband and I had a destination wedding in Maui, and we found Natalie online and loved all her pictures! Since we are from Oregon we did not get a chance to meet Natalie until the day of the wedding, which did make me a little uneasy because you never know! But Natalie was great! She was very personable, friendly and kind. She made the "getting ready" pictures very comfortable. After the ceremony my husband and I did some pictures on the beach, and instead of just taking them where we had planned, Natalie commented that she did not like all the people, fishing poles and other distracting things in the background; she recommended that we walk through this rocky path to a more secluded beach. It was not a super easy walk in heels and a wedding dress but boy was it worth it! We are so happy Natalie did not settle on the location and wanted to make our pictures perfect for us! She was great! We just got back some preview pictures from our wedding day and I cannot wait to see more! They look absolutely amazing! Also, our wedding guests all commented on how much they liked Natalie and how nice she was! We also added a second shooter to capture our ceremony and help get groomsman pictures before the wedding. Since we did not do "first look" pictures we had ALL the pictures after which put us on a tighter timeline. Adding the second shooter was perfect! And even without a second shooter, I think Natalie was more than worth the cost. I am glad we spent the money for amazing pictures that'll last a lifetime!
