Went in for a consultation on a tooth implant and wanted to know how much the procedure would cost…read morebefore spending $370 to get a CT scan. Dr Stephens said that he puts the post in and his cost would be $3000.00 and my dentist, who he said he works with all the time for years, would charge $800-$1,000 for the tooth, NO MORE than $1,000 and he said it TWICE! Considering $4,000 is comparable to a bridge, though my insurance wouldn't cover the implant, I decided to go and move ahead. Upon checkout I paid $370 for the CT and was quoted $3,208 to be due on the procedure date. When I got home I called my dentist to get an exact cost for the tooth and they said it would be $3,006!!!!That would make the whole thing cost $6,584!!! I would NOT have moved ahead with the CT had I known it would be this expensive and when I called and explained to the financial manager and asked for a refund for the CT- they refused! She said Dr. Stephens said he gave me a ballpark figure. What's worse is the CT cost him nothing as it is done in his office and goes straight to a computer. This is bad business practice! Aspen Dental Forsyth, IL repaired a set made by prior dentist 7/2/2018 which continued to function fine until needing replaced. Aspen makes first new new set 11/10/2020 with 3 separate adjustments, need to be remade as they caused issues and abscesses while fitting horribly. Make second set 2/4/2021, need to have multiple adjustments (8) with multiple abscesses treated by Aspen as well as several trips to Express care for treatment. Dentist remakes again 11/15/23. 13 adjustments, multiple abscesses, a nasopalatine duct cyst removed surgically 7/23/2024 at Carle in Champaign, IL and now Aspen says they will not help me anymore, period. They immediately offered to reimburse all parties with out question. I've been instructed by oral surgeon to find a different provider but need to allow 2 months to allow bone and tissue healing from abscessed area. I have been unable to wear these continuously misfitted dentures all to frequently. I do a fair amount of public speaking, when I was lucky enough to have dental institution with competent compassionate dental professionals. These are not available at this building. I'm paying Dr bills to treat issues caused by Aspen. Over the curse (*intentional) of their service I have continuously complained about fit and comfort and it falls on absolutely deaf ears, as is evidenced in my 36 separate dental appoints just since 11/10/2020 to get a fitting set of functional dentures. Additionally, the situation in oral health has greatly compromised a total left hip replacement, not to mention greatly diminished quality and function of a normal life and appears I have little legal recourse.
