I called earlier today to inquire about a dress alteration while I am in town. I unknowingly had a full voicemail or one not set up yet, and when the business called me back they said they would not allow me to get any alterations because I did not have a voicemail and when I apologized and would have absolutely set one up, they hung up the phone. I am extremely off put by how unprofessional and rude she was. Would not recommend. read more

Natalies Alterations is the best in State College. I have come here several times to make dresses a little shorter and hem the waist on my pants. Natalie's husband has done all the alterations and they've come out perfect each time. The turnaround time is super quick and the prices are very fair for the quality of their work. For my jeans, finding a place in town capable of european hems (altering your jeans while keeping the original hems) was essential. So far, she has done really nice work on my clothes (pants and dresses as well). Been to several other places in town previously but was not impressed. So if you are in the predicament I was, give this place a try. From what Natalie told me, she has had a long career in alterations... working in europe prior to moving to the states and then in men's suit alterations downtown prior to going into business for herself. I've had this dress in the back of my closet that I've been afraid to take to anyone. It used to belong to my grandmother, and it was made/worn in the 1940s. Fragile, sweet--and too long, and part of the fabric was deteriorating, and the hook-and-eyes had seen better days (decades?). I can only describe what Natalie did to this dress as a restoration. It's wearable now, and healed. I'll be bringing all of my tailoring to Natalie until I leave the area! read more

I was so sad when the seamstress I had been going to retired. But when I switched to Natalie I was very pleased. She's very pleasant, does great work, and charges extremely reasonable prices. I've mostly brought pants to her but did bring in a nice suit jacket once, and I've always been very happy with her work. Natalie also works with other items- I've seen wedding gowns and dresses there when I've picked up my (perfectly hemmed) items. I definitely recommend Natalie if you're looking for a seamstress. read more

I went to Natalie's many times over the two years I was in State College. She has altered several nice dress pants (hem, waist, and through the rear), a couple suit jackets, and a bridesmaid dress for me. All items turned out wonderful and were completed on time. Natalie's was recommended to me and after reading all the great reviews I called to have the shoulders taken in on a wool jacket I had recently purchased. To my complete surprise she said she didn't do that type of alteration! Any upstanding tailor should easily be able to handle that type of work! Very disappointed! read more
