I made a reservation at El Dorado in Reno back in June 2025 for a three-night stay (Tuesday-Thursday, checking out Friday) in April 2026. After nearly 10 months of planning, I expected the basics to be handled correctly. When we checked in, we were given a double room instead of the King room we reserved. I went back to the front desk and was told that because they were oversold for Thursday night, there was no way to move us into a King room at all during our stay. That explanation didn't make much sense--they confirmed they had King rooms available Tuesday and Wednesday, but because of the Thursday overbooking, they couldn't honor the reservation for any of the nights. So even though I booked months in advance and had already arrived, I was effectively bumped in favor of guests who hadn't even checked in yet. To make matters worse, only 2 out of 5 elevators were working the entire stay, which led to long waits (up to 20 minutes to get down in the morning) and added frustration. After the fact, I looked through other reviews and saw that this seems to be an ongoing issue, not a one-off situation. Between the reservation not being honored and the operational problems, it was a pretty disappointing experience overall. Skip this place. read more

Status is nice. You have to work for it, but once you get it, it's nice. I have diamond status through Wyndham, and Caesars matches it. With diamond status at Caesars, , you get things such as no resort fee, free, valet, parking, complementary, or low cost upgrades if available, and free parking at properties that charge for parking. (Vegas... Tahoe...). I was in Reno on a Thursday night, and I found a room at the El Dorado for a very reasonable price. Even with the resort fee, it would've been a reasonable price, but it was nice not to have to pay it. I dropped off my car, they picked up my bags for me, held them until I was in my room, and then brought them up to my room for me. I am staying next-door at the Silver Legacy on Friday night, they picked up my bags for me out of my room, held them for me, and will bring them next door when I am in my new room. When I checked in, I asked if an upgrade was available. She said, yes, no charge. I figured I was just going to get a nicer room on a higher floor. Imagine my surprise, when I opened the door, and walked into a spa suite. That was very nice of them. The room was on the 14th floor, and it overlooked... The bowling stadium. Not much to see during the daytime, but at night time, when all the city lights came on, and in the morning when the sun came up it was very pretty. The room was very large. It was an older room, there were a few scuffs and scrapes here and there, but that is just cosmetic. Everything in the room was spotless. The shower is decent sized, , but it doesn't have a bathmat or a grab bar, so you need to be just a little bit more careful. There's a fridge and a Keurig, but not a microwave, the TV gets a great picture, and it also has movies available for rent, including "naughty" movies. If you are not into that, or if you are traveling with kids, you have the option of blocking those. The bed was very comfortable, and I had a good night sleep. The Wi-Fi was OK, fast enough to stream video, but it did cut out a couple of times. Nothing major. The star of that room was definitely that Jacuzzi spa tub. It does take quite a while to fill up, it took well over a half hour to fill up. So if you want to use it, that's something you need to consider. Once it was full, I turned on the jets, and I soaked in that thing for between a half hour to 45 minutes. It was heavenly. I had been on the road for almost a week, and my back was bothering me, and this just did wonders for it. Even if you have to pay for this suite, it is definitely worth the splurge. It's a great property. The El Dorado, the silver legacy, and Circus Circus are all Caesars properties, and they are all connected. So you can walk between the properties without ever stepping outside. Lots of shopping, gaming, entertainment, bars with different themes, and lots of different places to eat, ranging from Ruth's Chris on the high-end, to the Circus Circus food court on the lower end. ("the habit" burger place in the food court was definitely the lower end... ). The El Dorado used to have an awesome buffet, but it is no longer there. I was going to have dinner at the brew Brothers. Back before I retired from drinking, I remember their "big dog ale." It's a great beer, and they still have it. Unfortunately, my two favorite items on the menu the burnt ends and the meatloaf, are no longer on the menu. So I just went elsewhere for dinner. Overall, a great day. Thanks. read more

OMG! I wasn't sure what year I was in when I walked through the doors. The last time I stayed at this hotel was as a teen in the 90s, and I swear absolutely nothing has changed. Walking into the room felt like stepping into a time machine and not in a cool, retro way. The entire property felt incredibly dated, and the room decor is exactly the same as I remember it from decades ago - Worn-out, tired carpet that has seen way too much foot traffic. - Outdated walls - Tiled bathroom with an old toilet. - The elevators were painfully slow and made terrifying, loud cranking noises every time we used them. Definitely added to the "unintentional haunted mansion" vibe. We specifically chose to stay here for the pool, while our friends booked across the street at the Whitney Peak which had none. We weren't informed until we asked and were told it was closed because it was "not in season." Come on, it was Memorial Day weekend, the official kickoff to summer, and the weather was in the 80s! The staff was not friendly, walls were paper thin. The only plus was that it was walking distance to the Patagonia outlet. We will not be staying here again. read more

I really appreciate and like that you connected the 3 casinos without us having to go outside. Nice to have this event indoors as it is weather proof. Not sure if this helped or hurt your event...? Oh, your advertising could have done a better job explaining exactly where the event was being held. 815 rooms. The casino can use some updating. Too many businesses/restaurants were closed, so limited dining. More of a weekend night life scene...? Service - Self service today. Price - N/A. Well, my wife did support the vendors at the event. July was a rough month for me. My mom's health started declining rapidly and unexpectedly. That was the beginning of the month, my birthday is towards the end of the month. My nephew volunteered to take care of my mom so I could celebrate by birthday. since I was going to a Reno Aces game, I decided to staycation downtown. All the Caesars hotels had great options but I decided on the Petite King Spa Suite at El Dorado. Check in was so easy. I was able to do it early, for a small fee, and at a kiosk (after receiving an email telling me how to do it). Check out is also easy, with kiosk and key return. I loved the room! Spacious, great temperature, nice private view, and just plain comfortable! SO relaxing! In fact, I plan to return in December for an overnight staycation! Location is key. We walked to Greater Nevada Field, and then back. We were able to get some drinks from Brew Brothers, and bring to the room. read more

The staff is fantastic and could not have been more accommodating at every turn: front desk, bell captain, casino, restaurants. That being said, the hotel is in desperate need of refurbishing/upgrading. We were also disappointed that as of 5/23/26 the pool was not yet open for the season. read more

On this particular visit, I was attending the Jingle Bello Rock show and we had a great visit. The El Dorado is usually my first stop passing through downtown for events, shows, or just evenings out. I've not always had the best time here, but overall I would say it's one of the better downtown casino/entertainment locations in the downtown area. read more

I should have listened to the reviews! We arrived at 2pm hoping to check in early. They could accommodate us, but there would be a $28 charge for early check in. Really? When we got to our room the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling and there was a big paint warn off mark on the head board. I went to get our room changed. That night the electricity went out so their whole internet, tv system did not work the following day until late in the afternoon. The casino was dead and so dark. I've never been to a place that looked like it was going out of business! Every time you looked they were working on escalators, so you had to take the stairs. Next time I'll just go back to the Peppermill or Atlantis. Caesar Corp should be ashamed! read more

We stayed here in the Sierra Tower & the rooms did not have any air. Not just no AC, but no air FLOW! We were dying! It was so hot & uncomfortable, we couldn't even sleep. I felt like we were suffocating, there's no fresh air as you can't open the windows, so we basically in a box breathing our own air. It was miserable. I spoke with other guests in the same tower & they all had the same experience. We intended to stay the weekend but ended up leaving after 1 night. Very disappointing for what you'd expect to be a reputable establishment. I will not be staying here again. read more

I visit the Row about 3 to 4 times a year. I'm a Diamond Plus player, which gets me comp rooms and valet. This year, I switched to staying here, rather than Silver Legacy, as I prefer both the rooms and valet here. All and all, it's a nice property. Nothing much negative to say. There's a good selection of machines to play and the eating options are also good. On this particular visit, the internet was terrible, kept dropping. I did notice that they've changed up their toiletries to some better products that smell wonderful. I do have a special shout out to the Valet Services. These guys are always so pleasant and helpful, particularly Jordon. I look forward to seeing him during my visits, as he's fun to chat with, and provides great service. Also, I'd like to start a petition to bring back Peggie the Pigeon! She was the mascot at Valet - the smartest pigeon you ever met. She kept everyone in check ;) I hope management reads this and reconsiders giving her the boot. Just a side not, why does Caesar's not do something about Circus Circus? For instance, it's called The Row, which includes Circus Circus, however, I think a majority of people who visit The Row, never set foot in Circus Circus (unless they've brought their kids). The casino area isn't somewhere I'd want to spend anytime. It's dank and depressing. They need to "amputate" this sickly property and replace it with something new and exciting. The guy at the check in desk, Dennis, was an absolute jerk. He spoke as quickly as the voice that lists all the legal jargon in commercials. He didn't explain how, or why, the charges seemed so out of whack. When we asked for clarification about it, he had attitude. Finally got up to our room, and it wasn't what we had reserved. When we came back down, he acted like we were the ones who were in the wrong, even after we said we had talked to someone else in the phone who assured us we would easily get placed into the correct type of room when we came down. Dennis sucked. Also, dinner at the hibachi restaurant was one of the worst experiences I've had at that kind of place. Chef was NOT entertaining, staff was NOT attentive, unless you mean to their phones. read more

With all the money people are loosing here... What's stopping the elevator repairs. Definitely happy I don't gamble here... Two bars inside which make it super convenient and as Yelpers last night we got VIP "Hot" seating in front with intimate seating in comfy chairs and tables with a small light and menu. Saw Menopause the musical which was hilarious and put on by 4 fabulous ladies who through skits showed what us "hot ladies" deal with! Loved the music they sang and danced their way through! Went for a girls weekend for my birthday...due to multiplier weekends I was able to level up and enjoy the VIP lounge. Which is AMAZING customer service. We were taken care of by Bri, Susi and Amelia. In this lounge you get drinks wether you're gambling or not as long as you tip (not a requirement BUT definitely HIGHLY recommended.) They even have a fancy coffee maker (my friend loved their fresh espresso martini) clean bathroom and 12 TVs with the NFL ticket for a good Sunday Funday. We had a blast and am looking forward to going back if only for the lounge read more

We got to sit right up front in the hot really enjoyed myself. So a lot of my good friends there that I've met.. The show is just fabulous. Definitely. If you get a chance to go see this show. Maintenance is nominal - this place has been ridden hard and put back wet way too many times - 7 elevators only one is working 25 minutes to get down the elevator elevator and no stairs - the best part is employees are great! They are the best they can with this absolute s hole - i'm unsure what a $34 resort fee goes towards it's not maintenance, half the restaurants were closed all week. Never again. read more

Cabaret Le Cirque Eldorado's current show for summer 2023. Truly the best variety show I have seen in the showroom to date. Cabaret sexy, funny and fabulous music. Le Cirque stunning performances. It's a must see because I don't want to spoil any of the fantastic surprises. The costumes are a bit circus and showroom combined. They were fun, sexy and all glam. The cast is over the top, starting with the devilish ring master/host. Madam Octavia the "queen" of the evening with a fabulous and powerful voice. There's no lip singing here. The ensemble of incredible dancers and singers add to the nonstop motion on the stage. Then the shocking cirque performers. OMG what they do. Your heart will stop, you'll gasp, you will be shocked, and entertained all at once. The music choices - finally!!! Finally someone has created a show with a mix from the 80's to current. Music that was superb and pretty much everyone knew. It told the perfect story. F, G, H rows are eye level with the stage. I feel the center in these rows are splendid. There are ringside tables and seats with champagne service available. Be careful, the bars on each side of the stage are included in the show. I'm posting just a few pictures for a teasing taste. If I could rate this hotel zero I would. Got here Wednesday night (mind you we paid for an upgraded room when we booked) - got into our old stinky room that was so hot! Beds are hard and pillows are lumpy. Hair in sinks and bed. Turned "AC" on lowest setting all night and the next day. Thursday we lost water for 3-4 hours & our room still had issues where we could not flush in the middle of the night. Complained to the front desk to have them switch us to a diff room but same floor. Gave us a lousy $50 comp for our troubles. New room - same AC issue! No fans available - maintenance guys came to say they couldn't do anything but we could swap rooms again to the other tower that doesn't have AC issues. No thanks! It's 10pm!? Also - no pool "closed for the season" but we could walk all the way over to legacy to use their pool which the hours are 9am to 8pm. 8pm is wild! - We came for Nationals bowling & next time Reno hosts - we will not be staying here or at any of the Cesar rewards. We will stay elsewhere - somewhere newer and nicer! Don't even get me started on the air quality in these rooms, lobby and casino. Smoke everywhere - couldn't get away from it. Dining was a nightmare since you could smoke everywhere and the tables by the walkways you could just smell smoke while dining - people walking by smoking their cigs - barf. Idk why people bring their kids here - it's disgusting. I'd advise people to stay in the J Resort or elsewhere - avoid these tourist traps. It ain't worth it read more

Stayed at this casino for 8 days. If you like the smell of cigarette smoke, elevators that don't work, nonfunctioning thermostats and no hot water, this is the place for you! The biggest gamble was whether your elevator would make it up to your floor. The smell of cigarette smoke was everywhere on my no smoking floor and in my nonsmoking room. Only 2 of 5 elevators worked and on Friday night I got stuck in one where people were packed in like sardines for 20 minutes as customers were yelling and screaming as the temperature inside was as hot as a sauna. While we all complained we were told that it was unfortunate. On the third day I could not get hot water in my room and was told that there was a pump that was out that the management refused to fix so I was sent to another room. That room did not have a working thermostat so I had to me sent to a third room. This hotel/casino is a nightmare. read more
