I'm so grateful for the customer service and overall service provided by the business. After the…read morefirst few rains in February, I noticed two areas of leaks in my roof and immediately searched for a local, reputable company. I worked with Johnathan for the initial estimate and he was kind, thorough, and supported me through every phase of the repair. The pricing was reasonable and the crew did a good job. They even found dry rot that needed repairing, which we would have not known, had it not been for their attention to detail. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the repair, but after speaking with Alex directly, another crew was sent the following business day to correct the issue. I would highly recommend working with the business based on their affordability, timely repair, and excellent customer service.

For the last few years, I have watched almost everyone in my neighborhood get their roofs redone,…read moreand a while back one of my neighbors hired Alex Perez Roofing. They stood out. They appeared to be working harder and faster than any other roofing crew I had seen, and they got the job done in 3 or 4 days instead of the typical 5. When I got a letter from my home insurance company stating that they would cancel me if I didn't get a new roof (the same thing has happened to most of my neighbors, I suspect), I called Alex Perez Roofing, plus two other companies for comparison. Alex himself came out, and he spent a long time talking to me and my partner about the job. He answered all of our questions. He didn't have a slick sales presentation like the other two roofing companies that we called. As a former roofer himself, he was more focused on explaining the dynamics and the work of the job, rather than trying to get us to agree to a a top-tier "premium roof package." Unsurprisingly, his bid came in lower than the other two companies I called. In an apples-to-apples comparison (50 year warranty, special venting at the top of the roof line) his company had the best value. His guys showed up on time, worked hard, were very polite, and left the job site clean. On the office side, Alex's staff kept me well-appraised on where we were in the process, and when invoices were due. When additional dry rot was discovered after the roof was pulled off, his office staff emailed me a comprehensive report and photos, and they had a lengthy phone conversation with me about it at my request, ensuring that all of my questions were answered. Alex also dropped by the job site regularly to check on things. The whole crew struck me as honest, regular working people just trying to get the job done, never trying to upsell me on any special packages, warranties, or guarantees. I would recommend them, or at least suggest that you call them out for a bid to compare them with what some of the bigger companies are offering.

ACE never tried to appease me, they didn't even contact me directly. They filed a response to the Better Business Bureau when I filed a complaint and they responded to this Yelp review. But no contact with me. ACE claims they installed a fire-rated door, but the door does not have a proper fire label. See attached document. All ACE has to do is provide proof of the fire-rating AND if it is a 20-minute fire-rated door, we are done. But, ACE will not provide the proof. I am not the only one requiring proof, the City Building Inspector would not pass the door unless proof is provided, or the door is replaced. BUT, ACE WILL STILL NOT PROVIDE THE PROOF. If they are NOT 20-minute fire-rated doors, I have asked ACE to reimburse me for the City permit they did not obtain and pay me what I will have to pay another contractor to remove and replace the ONE door ACE installed that is required to be a 20-minute fire-rated door. I do not want ACE to replace it as I no longer have faith in their business ethics or workmanship. Here are the relevant details for just the fire-rating issue. It starts with having to explain that ACE installed two alleged fire-rated doors when I only requested one. And, why I am only concerned about the fire-rating on one door. The answer is because only one of the two alleged fire-rated doors ACE installed is required by the California Residential Code to be a 20-minute fire-rated. I hired Ace Handyman Services Roseville Rocklin (ACE) to complete some home repairs identified in Home Inspection Reports when I purchased the house. I provided them with the actual copies from the report describing the needed repairs with pictures and a Summary of all repairs requested. Replacement of the person door between the garage and the residence was recommended in one of the Home Inspection Reports as the pet door compromised the fire separation requirements for a garage door. There was also a pet door in the person door leading from the garage to the outside. I asked that this door be replaced as well, if it was not too expensive. I expected it to be replaced with a door similar to what it was - which was just a regular utility door - not a fire-rated door. Note: A 20-minute fire-rated is more expensive than a utility door. I did not determine there was a problem with the fire-rating on the doors until after the job was mostly completed and paid in full on 9/13/24. I say mostly completed as both doors did not close automatically which is something the California Residential Code requires. Kent assured me that after about two weeks, they would close automatically. They did not. Once I questioned the fire-rating, I requested a copy of ACE's invoice but never received the invoice. Kent verbally assured me they were 20-minute fire-rated doors when he came out after I notified ACE that the doors still did not close automatically. But, I need verifiable proof in order to pass the final City inspection and for my own peace of mind. As ACE never even responded to my direct requests to them requesting a copy of the invoice to provide objective, verifiable proof that the doors were 20-minute fire-rated doors, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. ACE responded to the BBB complaint, just as ACE responded to this review. But, never to me directly. I have attached an excerpt from the BBB Complaint where ACE stated that they installed two fire-rated doors because the building code requires exterior doors to be fire-rated. WRONG. ACE further stated that "All doors sold in the state of California meet the minimum fire rating for the state (20 minutes). ALSO WRONG. ACE goes on with some other comments that are NOT TRUE and will not provide any information on the doors. Also attached is another excerpt from the BBB Complaint with their reason for not providing a copy of the invoice. ACE said it is not their policy to do so. I feel an exception should be made to the policy as without a copy of the invoice, the fire-rating of the door can't be proven. At this point, I believe the only reason ACE will NOT provide proof they installed what they were hired to install is because THEY DID NOT. As a contractor, ACE should be knowledgeable about the California Residential Code, checked it for what was required, if they didn't already know, and purchased 20-minute fire-rated doors. If ACE did purchase incorrect doors, they should have admitted their error when it became known to them, apologized to me, assured me that they would take steps to ensure they were properly trained so the errors on this job would not be repeated, and done everything possible to replace the door to my satisfaction. It will cost over $1,300 dollars for the permit and to have the ONE door that must be a proper fire-rated door replaced.

High quality work and great people. Dom always goes above and beyond. Highly recommend.read more

The name fits-- Rising con artist…read more Dom and team member, Jamie played into our heart strings, as my Dad was very sick and battling cancer. Dom and Jamie were very nice to us, making promises and getting our hopes up. Hindsight, we weren't thinking clearly and we trusted them. My elderly folks ended up paying and losing A LOT of money. We paid a lot of money upfront before jobs were even finished. Dom has since said to us, why would we have continued to pay if the jobs weren't finished? Well- we trusted him. We were never given a broken down invoice even though we asked repeatedly. We wanted to know what we had already paid for, and what money was still left We were given an elementary level sketch on a piece of paper of a floor plan- Dom's fine work. We did at one point meet with an architect in person and another time via zoom. She didn't understand our vision at all, so that's when Dom took over and presented us with his unsightly sketch. Again, we were hopeful and trusted him. He told us that drawing wasn't his expertise and so not to worry. His side kick Jamie would reassure us over and over that Dom had his best intentions in hand. That he knew exactly what we wanted and he wanted to make our dreams come true. Time was of essence... We were hoping that my Dearest Dad could see the home completed and enjoy it for some time. That never happened. My folks paid an astronomical amount of money, elder abuse- to this man- who pulled no permits- and was trying to ride off the coattails of the original permits. I called down to the city to check on permits multiple times and was told none were pulled. I was told there was no activity at all at that property address. According to Dom, a-lot of the money given to him was going towards these permits that were never pulled. He excavated.- again without permits pulled. We've been told by many people that the excavation was not done properly at all. His people also dug huge ditches around the property, (which also was never marked off with any caution tape, or any sort of thing. We got our own caution, tape and marked it off ourselves, for safely so that nobody would fall into the unmarked ditches. Highly unprofessional. ) When we asked what these giant holes and ditches were for, we were never given any answer. We always had to go through Jamie his middleman. It was very hard to actually be able to speak to Dom. When my Dad passed, we told Dom we needed to just put a hold while we took care of everything from his passing. At that point, Dom took that opportunity to completely ghost us.. He then turned it around, saying because we put a hold on the project- that it was our fault. In fact, everything was always our fault with Dom and his crooked and unprofessional ways. Never in my life will I understand how some people can sleep at night, robbing others. This is elder abuse. This man and his team are crooks. After reading the other recent reviews and even the older reviews, none of it surprises me. I am absolutely sick that my folks were taking advantage of by this man Dom and his sidekick, Jamie. I am sick that my folks dreams were crushed by such con artists. I am sick that my Dad never got to see the house that he was trying to build be completed. I feel awful because we were maybe too naïve and trusting. Dom's team took full advantage of my family at our weakest. We have not been able to move forward building due to losing so much money to Dom. We filled Dom's pockets and got nothing in return. Please save yourself and do not do business with this man.
