For the last few years, I have watched almost everyone in my neighborhood get their roofs redone, and a while back one of my neighbors hired Alex Perez Roofing. They stood out. They appeared to be working harder and faster than any other roofing crew I had seen, and they got the job done in 3 or 4 days instead of the typical 5. When I got a letter from my home insurance company stating that they would cancel me if I didn't get a new roof (the same thing has happened to most of my neighbors, I suspect), I called Alex Perez Roofing, plus two other companies for comparison. Alex himself came out, and he spent a long time talking to me and my partner about the job. He answered all of our questions. He didn't have a slick sales presentation like the other two roofing companies that we called. As a former roofer himself, he was more focused on explaining the dynamics and the work of the job, rather than trying to get us to agree to a a top-tier "premium roof package." Unsurprisingly, his bid came in lower than the other two companies I called. In an apples-to-apples comparison (50 year warranty, special venting at the top of the roof line) his company had the best value. His guys showed up on time, worked hard, were very polite, and left the job site clean. On the office side, Alex's staff kept me well-appraised on where we were in the process, and when invoices were due. When additional dry rot was discovered after the roof was pulled off, his office staff emailed me a comprehensive report and photos, and they had a lengthy phone conversation with me about it at my request, ensuring that all of my questions were answered. Alex also dropped by the job site regularly to check on things. The whole crew struck me as honest, regular working people just trying to get the job done, never trying to upsell me on any special packages, warranties, or guarantees. We had Alex and his crew come out 7 months ago to do some seamless gutters for our home. We needed some time to get financing squared away before we tackled the entire roof repair. Our house is roughly 2,400 square feet, and is a single story home with a very steep roof. This basically means we have more square footage to cover. Needless to say, since Alex's crew did such an amazing job on the gutters I reached out for a quote on the roof. I won't go into pricing details because everyone's homes are different and there could be extenuating circumstances that vary from home to home, but his quote was the most reasonable and based off previous quality of work I had zero trouble deciding. They were able to get me a start date within 2 weeks, and the day of demo his crew was on time and prepared. They had everything covered and had the old roof removed within one day. Some of the tiles were so old they had moss on them (see photos). The following day they found some dry rot damage from previously installed solar panels and had that taken care of the same day. The install itself took about a day and a half, and his crew was amazing. Every day the yard was cleaned up if there was any debris and in the mornings before they started they let us know they were about to work. Small details like adding channels to high flow areas, and venting on the roof to let trapped heat escape were also appreciated. With the weather getting worse in the winters it's a relief to have the roof replaced, and not too mention, looking amazing. Alex and Rony's crew are amazing to work with and hire. Very professional, and friendly. Any questions were addressed in a timely manner. Start to finish (with county inspection) was 4 days. Alex and his crew did a great job fixing our roof on September 26, 2025. When we requested a free estimate for repair of our roof, Hipolito came to our home, inspected the roof, and gave us a reasonable quote. After evaluating some other quotes, we decided to go with Alex's company. From that time on, Alex and crew did a fine job. They scheduled a time for the work, arrived on time, and did a superb job fixing our roof and cleaning the gutters. We believe they went above and beyond what they estimated they would do to make our roof water-tight. Once the work was completed, we found one of our gutters was leaking a lot of water after a torrential downpour. I let Alex know, and he immediately sent one of his men back to fix the issue. Overall, Alex Perez's Roofing did a stellar job with our roof. I have one suggestion for the improvement: Alex should improve his post-work processes. When I asked Alex for a receipt of the work, he said yes. But I never got it. So, I had to call his office a few times. The first time, the office manager didn't reply. The second time, she sent the wrong receipt showing just the initial deposit. The third time, she sent the right receipt showing the final zero balance. This company is extremely unprofessional. I had an estimate scheduled for a time sensitive project. Called the company and the secretary made the appointment. No show on the day of the appointment, so I called back and they had no record of my appointment. Secretary said they would call me back to reschedule and never did. I call back 3 times over a week after that and they never picked up the phone. Either Alex Perez Roofing has incompetent staff or they didn't want to do the work and did not have the professional courtesy to let me know. Alex personally came and provided a comprehensive quote and was very flexible with scheduling because I had to work around the removal process of my solar panels with my solar panel provider. My wife and I moved into our home in 2021 and at the time had considerable roof issues we thought may be more extensive and costly than we could afford at the time. Two years ago, my chimney started leaking during the heavy rainy season. I needed to find someone for repairs, so I looked on Yelp and found Alex Perez Roofing Inc. for a quote. However, they were very busy at that time and couldn't fit us into their schedule. In the end, I found a handyman for a temporary fix. Due to the storms we had in the past two years, we always saw shingles flying off after the heavy winds. We decided to re-roof it with a new roof for the whole house and fix the chimney permanently. We did some research and found Alex on YouTube and watched some of his videos. I learned about ridge vents from Alex's videos and the benefit of hot air going out. After that, we decided to contact them again for a quote and more information. Alex came and provided a detailed explanation and a fair quote right after he checked around our roof. Due to rodent issues in our neighborhood, we ended up choosing low-profile vents instead, and I asked Alex to make sure all the vents had a mesh guard to prevent rodents. Before the project started, Alex's crew sent us the diagram of the intake and exhaust vents where they were going to install them. They also handled the permit and scheduled inspection with the inspector. Alex's crew did the job very well and worked hard. They cleaned up after work every day. When the job was done, Alex sent me all the photos and videos of the project's start, middle, and end. We appreciate this. We're happy with the new roof and the new ventilation. Honestly, it's a big difference compared to last year. Today, the outdoor temperature is 100°F, and we didn't turn on the air conditioner; the indoor temperature is 85°F.
