If you know exactly what you are looking for to use in a WFH situation, or looking to set up an office, this is the place to go. I was looking for a National Gotcha task chair- I have one, the cylinder died and National wanted $200 for a replacement cylinder- and it was listed for $59 used. Sadly, it was sold out and someone forgot to de-list it from the website. So, there was a KI Office Engage task chair listed for the same price, and I ordered that. It was in the Phoenix showroom, and instead of having it shipped freight from Arizona, I opted to have it shipped to the Chicago showroom and just pick it up. Probably saved $90 right there. Cindy had the plastic pulled off, we tested out the chair's functions, everything worked, and out the door I went. According to the website, there is a 5 year warranty on this chair, which has a (new) MSRP of $582. Bottom line- this is not Office Max or Staples. If you know specifically what professional grade office equipment you are looking for, you can find it, and at a good price, and in really good condition. Not a great experience when I shopped there last year. Not much help as I walked around the floor. No one stopped me to ask if I need assistance or anything. I finally had to approach someone to help me and she didn't offer much, even when I told her what I was looking for. I finally found a chair I liked for my home office--not exactly cheap--and was told to wait while they put it together. I wasn't expecting to hear that since I figured I'd get a used one off the floor. But I figured new is good so I waited for 45 minutes or so. When I brought the chair home, it seemed like it didn't have as many features as the chair I tried out in the store. I called and was told it was the same exact chair, just new. I mentioned I wanted to bring it back and get a different model and was told they didn't accept returns which, of course, is a little ironic. Anyway, after a few weeks, my left shoulder was killing me. I mean KILLING ME! It was the chair. I tried adjusting the arms and height, attaching a backrest, using an extra cushion, trying a footrest, and nothing worked. Since I noticed the chair wouldn't lock in place and always slightly rocked, that the seat seemed permanently leaning back and that the arms were not lined up with each other, I called again and said I needed to exchange it. Again, same answer. So I stuck it in the corner, grabbed a chair from our kitchen table and used my fairly expensive NOI&L chair as a resting place for papers, socks, books, USB cords, a water bottle, slippers and an occasional bagel with cream cheese--on a paper towel or plate, of course. I'm not a caveman. I decided to sit in the chair once again to write this review nearly one year after I purchased it--because I'm in the market for an office chair again, go figure--and it's as inglorious as I remember it. My lower back is irritated, my left elbow is angry and my left shoulder is screaming. This chair is like that "Cruel Shoes" bit Steve Martin did when he was younger. If you're not familiar with it, a woman declines every pair of shoes her size in a shoe store but decides to buy the one pair the salesperson warned her about--the cruel shoes, an extraordinarily painful pair--"the screams were incredible." Later, Martin mentions the sales rep gives a new customer the same schtick--"well, we do have one more pair ... " The chair I purchased here is my cruel chair. It is punishment for believing an office chair could make me more productive when working from home. It's my penance for believing the answer to my home-office quandary could be found near the Kennedy Expressway in Jefferson Park. It's my hairshirt for thinking the chair my father-in-law gave me when he got a new office chair wasn't good enough for the likes of me. I give it 2 stars because the showroom is decent. Well-lit and creatively cluttered, the way a used furniture showroom should be. Also, the sales rep I spoke with was nice once we finally connected. Not too helpful--I don't think she got up from her desk--but she did say things like "check out that one over there" and "that one in the corner might be better." If you decide to shop for a chair here, please carefully test your prospective purchase, study the return policies before buying and don't take something they bring from the back. The chair you test must be the chair you take home. Insist on it. If they tell you they have to put one together in the back, ask them to put that one on display and take your tested chair with you. But most importantly, gentle reader, beware ... of the cruel chair. read more

My office chair died. I had purchased a lightly used Aeron chair close to 15 years ago. Too many things all wrong at once so we sent it out to pasture. I really needed to replace my chair. I found National Office Liquidators via a quick Google search. I was not aware such a resource was available 15 minutes from home. I got there and found an out of the way, busy place with a ton of merchandise and quite a few non-pushy sales associates. It is overwhelming. There is a lot to look at. It is all displayed but be prepared to walk around. A lot. They had a ton of Aerons but priced more than I wanted to spend. It was still half retail for refurbished Aeron chairs. It was/is a great deal on a great chair, just not in my budget right now. I was educated when I got there. If the Aeron was too expensive, I had alternatives. I had phone so I could check reviews and had researched the best ergonomic chairs for a tall person (6'3"). I found a chair, cheaper than the Aeron and with more features and great reviews than the big well known name chair. There were a few options to buy, all in good shape and functioning. I picked the one I wanted, paid for it with a credit card and hit the road happy. I am not saying I like my job any better but it is good to be sitting in a comfortable, practical chair at 1/3 the current retail. Give this place a shot if you need anything office furniture. Lots of desks, caverns of file cabinets and a room full of chairs. Parking can be dicey but you can pull up and load up. read more

I love that this place has parking, and that's about it. Did get a hello after I greeted a salesperson. No one offered to help me, or ask me what I was looking for, I was the only one in the place except for one other couple. Speaking of the other couple, they wanted to return a chair that they bought and found it uncomfortable, they wanted to purchase a more expensive one so they were just looking for a credit. They were told that they couldn't do it because it was used, okay this I can understand under most circumstances, however this place sells used furniture, hmm. The couple was this nice older couple that just seemed perplexed by it, I know I was and the salesperson seemed dismissive towards them. I walked out unnoticed, can't say I have any intention of returning based on my experience and the treatment of the other people that did make a purchase. She was helpful in providing different options available and going around the warehouse to find us a better or comparable chair. For the first time, I did not feel pressure to buy the chair. We graciously inform buyers to beware. You may not receive what you ordered. Just because you see an item on the showroom floor or on their website doesn't mean they have the product or the product could have been changed. When NOL informs you that the product will arrive on a certain date, you can never be certain that's what's going to happen. Or if it does arrive, you should inspect the product on site with the delivery guy present, because the product could have a serious defect. For example, today, NOL attempted to deliver a wood filing cabinet that the top portion of the cabinet was sliding off? We've been waiting on this cabinet for almost 4 months and when we finally get it, the cabinet is falling apart. As I write this review, it hurts me to my core to think that they have our money in their bank account for almost 4 months, collecting interest on our money and yet aren't moving at a reasonable pace to provide our products. How much more can I take? It's been almost 4 months since NOL has received our payment and yet we have 2 of the 6 products we ordered in our office today (33%). The delivery guy said, and I quote, "I'm truly embarrassed about this situation." He's embarrassed, but I'm embarrassed even more. This was the 2ND time we ordered from NOL thinking the first time was a fluke. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. read more

You can get some good deals here with good prices and some good quality items. FYI They won't budge on anything and they won't give any deals or discounts of any kind. If you like their prices, great you can buy, if not they don't really care you can leave. Their business system is very basic and the staff is really there to just guide you through the process. They are definitely not there to solve problems that may arise. They have a system in place and they don't stray far from that system. I was just unfortunate enough to have a lot of problems arise from their lack of attention to detail and because they are not problem solvers, you just have to wait for the problem to fix itself. From wrong phone numbers, to not having the answers to specific questions about products and delivery, to the staff not being on the same page, to the item we ordered not arriving until 2 weeks after they promised, to them not following through on their word more than once. Cindy finalized our order, don't expect any excitement out of her or really much of anything. Nice people but don't expect great customer service, if you want to save some $ then come here for the deals and NOTHING else and by no means expect a smooth process. read more

Did my research in advance and focused in on a specific chair...believe me it took some time for the selection and the pricing can't be beat! When I finally thought I was ready to purchase had a few quick emails with Cindy (and I mean quick or the response time was top notch) my wife and I drive to the location to pickup a chair and save on shipping. Walk in and great to see everyone masked up in these crazy times. In any event my bottom and back test drive the "one". All was good but not sure what I said or what Cindy might have seen but asks if I was willing to try something else? She has me sit in a different chair and I was like WOW...let's do it. Didn't walk out of showroom with chair for it shipped from AZ (no charge!). It arrived in 4 business days and looks brand new even though it was manufactured in 2005. Why spend $250 on a new chair from who knows where when you can get a fully warranted reconditioned chair that when new was 4 times more with a 10 time better build quality? read more

I received great help from Cindy in the warehouse. She was very knowledgeable and able to make recommendations when I asked her what I was looking for. My building had very specific delivery requirements and Janina in customer service worked with me and promptly replied to all of my email requests. Do NOT buy anything from this place. My company purchases used cubicles. The sales rep didn't measure right and all the cubes didn't fit properly - the room looked ridiculous. My rep quit and then the sales manager quit and my room still has NOT been fixed. I'm now dealing with the VP of Sales and he is trying to back out of it saying it's not his problem. I literally have work surfaces that are not put together and missing some; we already paid and I report to BBB and still NO resolution from this company. Complete joke! read more

This place is AWESOME! Found exactly what I needed, placed order online on August 12, received an immediate response from Jillian who sent a quote for the items, I accepted the quote, and sent payment information. I was advised it would be about 2 weeks. I received an e-mail on August 18 from Janina advising the items were ready for delivery on August 19 between 10 and 12. The delivery guys were here at 9:45, very professional, put the items where I need them. I would absolutely order from National Office Interiors the next time I need office furniture. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with this company and I would absolutely recommend them. By the way, the items were used items but looked brand new! read more

My company purchased 7 file cabinets. We submitted the order and paid on 12.1.16. Each week my department would touch base to see when delivery was expected. We received an e-mail each week from Rena Smith stating that the product was shipped and would be at our location by the end of the week. Well, here we are the fourth week from the payment date and still NO DELIVERY!! I finally was able to Contact Ed Waldner who promised that we would have our file cabinets by this Friday 12.30.16. The jury is still out on this promise. Also, I left a message for the "Sales Manager" to let him know about my experience and team members poor performance and misleading shipment information. He STILL HAS NOT CALLED ME BACK. My company will NOT use National Office Liquidators ever again read more
