I felt that I was offered a "fair" price given that I didn't have to spend anymore time figuring out how to get rid of silver that nobody in my family wanted. They were looked professional, waiting list names for half an hour. Then the offer is unbelievable very low for $ 275 for a Chanel Ligne Cambon Quilted Calfskin Multi-Pocket which are all listed in ebay for $ 5,000-$5460 for the same mint kind nearly new ones that I found out later. I'm a new customer and have no idea that they can make so much money this way. I had one hour drive and too exhausted, just left as it was. There was a bit of a wait before my name was called, but there were 5 appraisers there, & they worked fast, but thoroughly. The person I worked with, Tristan, was very nice, & really knew his stuff. Had a ring with an excellent Diamond and gold as he agreed with me on that. Low ball offer and yes, I understand they need to make money, too. I said no to the deal and he upped it another $80. Still low ball. Just go in knowing the value of your item and that you're not getting that of course, but it will help you make a more educated decision on whether to sell to them or not. Took misc. items including a wedding set in. The salesperson took 2 items aside and said "I can give you a few dollars for these two pieces, they are not gold. I said "Excuse me but these items were a gift from my father-in-law. He was a manufacturing jeweler, I know these items are gold." She tested them and of made light of it but if I had not known what I had she would have been the proud owner of my gold for a " few dollars". Also, when weighing my loot, one small piece seemed to "accidentally" fall on the floor. If I hadn't seen that I probably would be missing that piece. I am a senior citizen and maybe I look like an easy mark? I sold my silver but I did not sell any gold today. I have had previous very good experiences with National Rarities but today that was not the case. I won't be back. read more
