They might be on time and clean up after they are finished but it's best to climb under and see what was really done I wonder how many satisfied clients have done that. They did insulation under our house for over$4000. Before they did their work the heating ducts that had been covered with fiberglass batt and a heavy vapor barrier but Sergio, their estimator, said we could do better. After their job these aluminium ducts were left exposed and lost all their heat before reaching the farthest vents- blowing ice cold air into the house. Our bills have skyrocketed. A heating repair service says that's not code. And where is our permit? Was it inspected? Looks like the permit didn't happen. Mr Kennedy said in the spring he'd have workers come out and cover those ducts. Haven't heard from him since. Looks like our only option is trying to go to court. But first we'd have to find him.

Alt-E of Massachusetts is the new owner of Real Goods (as of just weeks ago). Alt-E stands for alternative energy, so solar is still the thing, but this location is clearly very much in "work in progress" status at this time. Customer Service woman in the small store was very helpful. We left with some new information about hempline construction and we picked up some practical and some gift items. She also gave us the name of the good straw bale construction contact. When I asked about the Yelp check-in deal for the free copy of the Source Book, she knew nothing about the check-in deal. She said the store we were in was a Solar Living Institute store, but she kindly called down to the Real Goods "store," which was a warehouse. Things were in flux in early September, 2019. Nice fellow at the warehouse was able to secure a copy of the book for me, but it was a little awkward. Meanwhile, up the hill there's a dispensary now. That came back clean but there was moisture in the walls that should not have been there in the middle of a summer heatwave. Redwood Restoration was the second mold contractor I scheduled for a consult. Zac was incredibly helpful. He read the report from Air Environmental before his visit and rechecked all of the spots that had tested positive for moisture. He checked the wall section I had opened to investigate and found wetness from the recent rains. He clearly explained how mold grows, what kills it and what does not, and exactly how Redwood Restoration would mitigate the problem while giving me a rough quote. He then checked all potential sources of water intrusion in the whole house with me and sent me two quotes: one for the room and one to address an issue in the basement to prevent mold from growing. He spent over an hour there and gave me a number of tips to doing unrelated projects on the house. I found Zac passionate for what he does and honest. I'm glad I called Redwood Restoration.

Tom was concerned about my predicament and informed me that he was in his Santa Rosa office and offered to quickly call and see if his supplier could get one to me by the next day. He called back right away to inform me that he could get one to me the very next day, quoted a price and said that since he had to temporarily pull his crew out of Ukiah (due to the storm) to help in Sonoma County, I would have to drive to Cloverdale to pick it up at the technician's residence and would this be O.K? We agreed. He took down my name and address and said that he would send me an invoice. I am very, very happy. His technician called as promised, we picked up the part, and the house is warm. Wow! He didn't know who I was, but didn't even ask for money upfront. He went out of his way to rapidly take care of me. Frankly, this is truly 5 star service. I highly recommend this company.
