I attended this school back in 2020. When I went for orientation to assess the school before investing $8000 in the course, there were no obvious red flags. I was excited about the opportunity to receive this education and delve into plumbing with an open mind. However, what wasn't explained to me is that NTI was in the process of changing properties during my curriculum, and we were expected to handle much of the moving ourselves as part of our 'learning.' This included moving boxes, cleaning out trash and clutter from the new building, and various other tasks that didn't contribute to my education. This took up approximately 40% of my $8000 course, which was disappointing. During this complete waste of time, we met our instructor, Dave. It was clear that NTI was Dave's first teaching job, as he would quickly become agitated and raise his voice over minor inconveniences such as questions about the curriculum or difficulties understanding the material. Dave, to put it lightly, was one of the most unpleasant people I've encountered, and unfortunately he was responsible for my education. While Dave was capable as an instructor if you understood everything perfectly on the first try and never made mistakes, any errors were met with condescending remarks and confrontation. If you attend the plumbing course, hope and pray that Dave isn't your instuctor and hope and pray you get Kodi as your instructor. read more

I came out the military dead set just going in the workforce. I never thought I'd attend any kind of college or trade school of my life. Come to this school they made it so easy to use my G.I. Bill 2024 and get enrolled like nothing. The school has been amazing and instructors have been even more amazing. The staff has been so friendly and helpful to me along my journey. This school is very shady when it comes to refund. I have dropped out of the electrical class due to the electrical teacher Mr. O trying to charge his students $100 to go more in depth to a question we have. I have mentioned this with the staff and made it aware to them. They told me i will get a refund of my down payment when i talked in the phone and i even came in person with Jeremy the finance guy. Its been a month now and they have been avoiding me. They ended up replying back to me and said i wasn't going get my refund no more, i literally have pictures and recording of them literally saying i was. Anybody who's been interested in secondary education during this epidemic knows how hard it is to make it work. NTI makes it happen. I was a reinforcing ironworkers apprentice for 416. Awesome job right? Wrong. Sure they pay was great and there were amazing benefits too but the people and culture are absolutely terrible. I found myself in a position where I loved my work but absolutely hated my job. I knew I had to get out so when we inevitably got laid off due to Covid, I applied for and received a grant through DETR that is specifically designed for adults who want to change careers. I didn't look back. I knew I liked and wanted to work with my hands, I knew I couldn't be stationary and the added bonus of running diagnostics made HVAC on an obvious choice. NTI was the superior choice among the HVAC programs covered by the grant. In comparison to all, it should really be the only one. I took the hybrid course (20 chapters online and 5 weeks in person). They have awesome facilities and a bunch of different equipment for you to tinker with and learn all the ins and outs. The front staff is awesome as I'm sure are the other instructors but Adam (the instructor I had) is the shit. He legitimately cares if you understood the material and what's happening in the systems. He'll come in early before class to work with you if you're struggling and he'll stay late just the same. Adam is a super cool dude too, he made class really enjoyable because he clearly wasn't there to collect a paycheck and enjoys teaching a trade in which he is an expert. You probably aren't going to believe this but, on the 3rd week of class, during Wednesday's instruction I was reaaaaallly slacking off so ADAM pushed me to do something productive at least. I filled out a job application on indeed for one of the top HVAC companies in town and since I had time, I wrote a good cover letter. I was called the very next morning for an interview! I started work on monday of week 4! Two weeks BEFORE graduation.... Now I make waaaaay more than I did ironworking and it's significantly easier. Guys it won't be easy and it'll take a lot of work but if you want to better yourself you must CREATE YOU'RE OWN PATH and take control of your life. Set a goal and commit head first. read more

I'd say save your money, if you're eager to learn the baby basic of hvac, plumbing, or electrical then go for it but I wouldn't nudge. I'd say an apprenticeship or learner position in any of the trades would get your foot through door but any entry level certificate will not beat someone who is experienced. read more

This school is amazing! I feel I learn best when I'm hands on. This school does just that. The trainers are thorough and patient and do their best to make sure you succeed. They have several stations that you can gain practical experience with and you get to work with the same tools and scenarios that you would in the field. The educators go out of their way to stay after and come in on off days to make sure you're proficient in what theyre teaching you. I've installed AC units in the past and this school has taught me the correct way to approach this trade. I recently attended National Technical institute. I had a great experience. The instruction was exactly what was needed to get started in the HVAC field. The teachers are very knowledgeable and the the labs have all new equipment to work on. A lot of time is spent in the lab doing hands on work. I find that I learn a lot more doing hands on training. The office staff I'd great. Always willing to help out. They will help you build a resume, and send you leads for jobs after graduating. All your tools are provided with the tuition cost. Upon completion of the school, you are ready to enter the HVAC field. They have day and night classes available. Very useful course that taught basic plumbing skills which can be used to obtain an entry level plumbing job or just to save money on plumbing at home. Half the class was lecture/classroom based, and other half in a lab where we broke apart and reassembled various plumbing related fixtures, pipes, etc. Also learned basic trouble shooting. The course also reviewed some very basic (probably 3rd or 4th grade level) math. The program supports VA GIbill students, however in this case it is only considered 3/4 time, which can impact benefits.​ The school provided a couple of employment leads, and graduating students with a nice tool bag. read more

What a scam!!!! They are charging $9,170 when you can go to work for a plumbing contractor and not have to pay any money. Once you are employed you can join an apprentice program and pay nothing . You will graduate after 4 years with a Journeyman card. read more

Loved the electrical class. I learned a lot especially in residential. Wiring circuits, sizing circuits, working in panel boxes, bending emt, pulling wires through conduit, ohm's law, doing work to NEC code. Very practical hands on learning. Shawn is an EXCELLENT instructor! read more

If you have never done online program, I wouldn't do this program. (The campus might be different) This was my first class in HVAC. 1. I know there are other programs available that allow you more flexibility. 2. There isn't much help other than what is available online from the lectures. 3. I have tried to contact people .. no one answers after I have paid them the money. 4. The online forum isn't active at all 5. I was totally excited about starting a new career in hvac. I got set up and started classes. Very quickly I could see issues with communications of work!! The teacher Ty is a horrible teacher and isn't able to get lessons taught. I was thrown out at week 5 because Ty got his panties in a bunch?? They really did nothing to help and in the end it was a waste of time and money!!! You really should give thought to going here!! I wouldn't recommend going here!!!!!! read more

My husband attended the HVAC/R course in 2018 with Ty as his instructor. He had a great experience! They have day and evening classes. There is a lot of hands on learning along with in class instruction and book work. Just like any other school there are expectations for conduct, attendance, and completing your work which was made very clear when we did the tour of the school. But if my husband could do it than any responsible person can, he worked full time supporting our family of 6 and attended class in the evening. He graduated and passed his universal EPA certification the first time thanks to the great education he received from his instructor Ty. My husband speaks very highly of Ty and the adept instruction he gives to his class and even still keeps in contact with him. He must have the patience of Job to be able to teach my husband My husband received support long after graduating and has his instructor and classmates that he can always contact if he comes upon a situation that stumps him. My husband has been working in HVAC and has been able to advance his career greatly since he graduated. This school gave my husband a great start to a very successful career and truly changed our family's life. I highly recommend this school to anyone that is considering it! Ty branaman, David, and Kelly I went to this school in the summer of 2018 and since then I found 2 jobs in the Hvac field and have done pretty well for myself and I can honestly say with the education that I received from the school has helped me out very much. Not only does this school help you to get interviews with a bunch of different Hvac companies here in town David will also help you prep your resume. David and Ty will give you pointers on how to nail your interview the do's and don'ts even on how to dress. I'm my experience Kelly was very helpful and kind she was always cheering all of us on and always was happy to see every one of us If I had an issue with being there on time or not being able to make it because of work they had no issues and were always very understanding. Now as for my teacher Ty Branaman, well he was the best teacher I've ever had. He is very knowledgeable, patient, and fun and has the best Hvac dad jokes lol! I had a great time learning from him and if we(any one in the class) didn't understand something right away he was always ready to help or allow us to work together to solve the problem(unless its on a test). The problem solving and troubleshooting I learned in class has helped me out a lot in the field and one of the great things about Ty is that even though your no longer in his class, you can call or text him with an Hvac issue and he'll be there to help any time I needed his help he always got back to me really fast. He's one of the best teachers I've ever had in fact to be honest the only teacher I ever actually listened too lol. Great school , environment and instructors. I knew nothing about Plumbing and rarely picked up tools in my life. Regardless this is the perfect course even you if you know nothing like myself. Learning in the lab with actually tools and fixtures made it all easier to grasp the knowledge of the trade .
