There is pickup and drop off parking on the street in front of the station. It was busy, but we got there early enough to find a space. We were picking up friends arriving from Fort Lauderdale. Outside, there's seating and a bicycle rack. Inside, downstairs, there are a couple seats, and a sanitizer station, and bathrooms. Also inside downstairs, is a posting with all the trains for that day organized by direction and routings. They also tell you whether the specific train is on time or not. When I came in to check out the station, I was immediately greeted and welcomed and offered assistance. Those that need help are directed to the customer service desk. To access the trains, you need to go up the escalator right next to the service desk. Inside, everything was spotlessly clean and comfortably air conditioned. It was suggested that you download their app for the easiest convenience. Our friends liked their trip experience so much, that they plan to take Brightline to Orlando sometime.

A quiet station. A peaceful station you might even say…read more The Boca Raton Tri-Rail station is not like many of the other stops on the Tri-Rail. That is because it is not right next to the highway compared to some. I have been to this stop very early in the morn and felt pretty safe from some stuff going down. Most train stations in the U.S. and in the world in general are sketchy spots to be, especially after dark; this spot not so much. It's a tranquil spot actually. It is up against part of the El Rio Trail. That's a trail that runs north and south through Boca Raton. I have jogged this trail or bicycled the path up and down and it's length. often I will cut in to the tri -rail area to take a break or add some feet to my distance covered. It's always a relaxed place. Often there is people taking there bike off the train there as they can continue there commute home from there. I have been to a few other Tri-rail spots in South Florida that were good as well. None were better than the Boca though.

I purchased my ticket at the kiosk and borded the next train for the Fort Lauderdale airport. It was roughly a 40-minute ride. Once I got off the train I followed the signs to the airport shuttle on the first floor of the parking garage. Please note, the shuttle bus does not have a shuttle sign on it. If you don't know you better ask somebody which is what I did;) The shuttle bus ride to the Fort Lauderdale airport was about 10 minutes. The signs on the bus indicated Caribbean Airlines was Terminal 4. PLEASE NOTE, they moved to Terminal 1. Imagine my shock and surprise when I get inside the terminal to find out the airline is not there. I was taking an international flight and it was getting pretty close to the 2-hour window of arrival. I ended up catching a cab back to Terminal 1 as it would have taken me too long to walk and the shuttle bus was long gone. The taxi cost roughly $10. I highly recommend this mode of transportation so you don't have to leave your car at the airport and pay the extra expense. But I highly recommend you check the airport website beforehand to verify which terminal hosts your airline.

It is a cheap and affordable way for people to get from the airport to the northern cities. I used it to travel between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. It was clean and efficient. The price changes depending on the distance. A ride from the northern most station to Miami International Airport is $8.75. If you staying closer to the beaches along the coast, it is not as useful. It is better to rent a car rather than having to pay to take a taxi to the station and paying for the train too.

As with any situation these days, you must stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings while traveling, but I've honestly had no issues. This is not a luxury experience but it is cost effective. I would definitely recommend taking advantage of the low-cost public transportation we deserve as tax-paying citizens.

We got off here to get to the Yellow Green Farmer's market and the gate that used to be open (connecting the two) was locked. Some riders decided to jump a fence to get to the Farmer's Market. We opted to find alternate options. First we thought we could walk easily to the market, but the path given by the GPS was not very clear. We finally opted to get a ride share and for about $5 we got to the market. Based on previous reviews, these two were connected at one point, not anymore. Sadly I guess there's a way to walk over if we get out of the station, take a left, walk on the sidewalk along Sheridan, then take a left onto the market parking lot....that whole trek would probably take 20-25 min.

The Seaboard Air Line Railroad was an American railroad which existed from April 14, 1900, until July 1, 1967 when it merged with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. AIr Line does not refer to air travel but instead is a common term for the shortest distance between two points. The railroad operated 4,000 miles of track running from Richmond, Virginia down through Jacksonville and ending in West Palm Beach. Solomon Davies Warfield, chairman of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad at the time, extended the railroad further into South Florida to Miami in 1925 and to Homestead in 1927 where it ended. Solomon Davies Warfield was the uncle of Bessie Wallis Warfield Simplson, the woman whose love affair with King Edward forced him to abdicate the throne. This train station, like all of the Seaboard Air Line Stations, was designed by architect L. Philipps Clarke. It opened on January 25, 1925 with the arrival of the Orange Blossom Express, a train that ran from 1925 to 1953 between New York and Miami in the winter. This was one of 40 stations built around this time frame for the railroad. The Mediterranean Revival style building was built by the largest firm in Palm Beach, Harvey & Clark. The train station was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 19, 1973. In 1988 the City of Palm Beach purchased the building. After a 4.3 million dollar renovation the station was reopened in a ceremony attended by Florida's governor in 1991. Only two of the Seaboard Air Line Stations have been destroyed. The Boynton Beach station was torn down in 2006 and the Delray Station was destroyed by arson a few months ago.
