They have both helped me in furthering my education and focusing on my career. With that being said, I did experience some challenges with communication along the way with the overall school itself. There were times when I reached out with issue or concern and it would either take weeks or I didn't receive a response at all, when certain things were discussed or promised and I felt they weren't fully followed through. This made parts of the process more stressful than they needed to be, especially in a program that already requires a lot of dedication and effort. This is not an easy program, and it's important to understand that you have to be determined and willing to put in the work. This is not something that's handed to you--you truly have to earn it. However, I will say that if you remain persistent and advocate for yourself, the school does make efforts to support you and follow through. Overall, while there is room for improvement in communication, the quality of education and the commitment of key staff members made the experience worthwhile for me and I know this schooling experience will stay with me the rest of my life

If you do take this class / job training, have a lawyer on retainer, or at the very least document everything so you can complain to Americas job center / B.A.S. Some things you may experience provided things haven't changed : Nasty OSHA violations like walking on glass shards without proper PPE, or using forklifts to lift things beyond their wight limit. Being bullied and harassed at every turn only to be told you are the problem. ( Threats from other students of physical violence, and actual physical violence at times) . Being told you can't talk politics and then having a teachers talk to you about politics all the time. The teachers give you a class on harassment, only to harass you and encourage other students to do so. This might all might be sufferable considering how short this program is, however the job placement is terrible, and poorly thought out. A lot of things are promised upon graduation of the program, and very little of that promised support happens. If this program in question doesn't go well for you, complain about it to Americas Job Center or B.A.S. as soon as possible. If enough people complain something will change. This program is advertised as a way to change lives. For some people in very desperate situations that may be the case, but for most the solution is to just seek out an actual education or career. Most of the certificates in this program you can get for free at a college, without having to do something like this. The certificates that cost money don't cost very much. The pay for the work you do in this program is meager at best, and is paid out on a prepaid debit card.

Karee is the school counselor and she was really nice and helpful to both of them. Helped them figure out what they need to take to get to their goals. She spent a lot of time at both our appointments. It's so nice to have a Cerro Coso campus in Tehachapi. Before they came here I think the nearest one was Ridgecrest. It is located where Monroe used to be. I can't really say much about the campus, both my husband and daughter are doing online classes. My husband is taking a math class and he had to take his test at the campus for the first time this week. Seems like everything went well with that. So far it's been a good experience.

For a year, their teachers highly recommended Door of Hope, but I was skeptical and I really didn't want to adjust my schedule. As time went on, they were failing. I thought I could do my own research and teach them myself, but that never happened. At the beginning of this year, I decided that I had no choice. In order for my sons to succeed and improve their self confidence, I had to give Door of Hope a try. Thank God we did. Within a few months, their reading level increased by grade levels. What i appreciated was these loans were able to be placed on deferment until she graduated. These loans were disbursed six times throughout the course of 19 months. Although we paid thousands and thousands of dollars, my daughter still had to purchase scrubs out of pocket through SJVC. My daughter said she had multiple teachers for her courses. During her internship, it was very stressful for her! I'm not 100% sure she had the necessary support from the school, the advisor, whoever. That was just my observation although she never complained. She was a real trooper! She attended SJVC for class 3 days out of the week, then interned at the hospital 2 days out of the week and still worked part time. The pinning ceremony was simple and was finished in a little over an hour. She will soon be taking the NBRC exam..... I want to see if the school will be there for support in that and job placement.
